Pros +

  • Full of personality, situated out of main township with a terrace overlooking the rice fields and surrounding hills. Coffee shop and many bike rental shops nearby. And very close to the cycling paths. Sara is very friendly and helpful and makes good use of Google translate to communicate with non-Chinese speakers like me. She encouraged me to contact her during my stay through whatsapp, with any questions and she had helpful recommendations for places to eat, etc. One of the bike rental places nearby offered overnight rental and I was able to return bike to the train station.
  • The host - very friendly, helpful.; the location. Beautiful view of the mountains in the distance and rice fields. Very nice ride back from town. Thought the bike trail was very dark and deserted at night, I felt very safe riding my bike back from town after dinner. It was magical.

Cons -

  • It was a bit tricky to get there from the train station. A station staff member called a taxi for me. If you don't have much luggage and only staying one night, you could rent a bike to get there and back but not sure if they would rent for longer. Easy if you are driving. I hoped there would be a microwave to heat up a meal. Lucky I took instant noodles as well.
  • It turned out fine for me. I had rented a bike to ride the rice paddies and I used the bike to go back and forth to town primarily for dinner.
