Very clean and the location was close enough to Shirakawa go

Hotel is a walking distance from bus station (15 mins.) Check in/out process is easy and quick. No staffs on site but don’t worry, you will get a clear instruction two days before on how you can check in to your room. The room is spacious and clean. There is also microwave/oven in the hallway of the building. The staff responds quickly via email or messages. The hotel also offers free shutter back to station on the day of checkout.

Lack of facilities — no washing machines, public bath. No wardrobe in the room.

The hotel is a bit further away from the main district. Plan ahead for meals.

Very clean with good amenities. Has coffee and tea in the room and a snack. Located near other restaurants and a convenience store. About a 25-30 minute walk to the village. Check in process was easy just use a code sent by the hotel. Hot water kettle in the room and microwave just outside the room. Free parking!

Bed was a little firm for me but otherwise good.

It was clean and all as expected. Comfortable bed and good bathroom. There is also a shuttle service to the bus terminal. Cool.

The location is a little outside, which is cool as you are away from the crowd, but it is not optimal for dinner if you don't have a car.

I liked the sound of crickets and birds breaking the silence of the night in that beautiful valley.

Completely disappointing, a real flop. They market it as a 5-star hotel on Booking.com, when it is not even close to a 4-star hotel. Purely conventional and functional hotel rooms (not especially spacious), designed for non-Japanese tourists, like the one you could find in any business hotel of a big city, only with a huge but: They don't clean your room or make the beds! They just renew towels and "amenities". Additionally, no breakfast is included or served, all of which makes the price almost a scam.

The place was clean and comfortable, and overall I had a decent stay. There’s no check-in counter, but the self check-in process was smooth thanks to the clear instructions provided. It’s about a 25-minute walk from the bus terminal, and while I believe there’s a shuttle service available, I didn’t use it.

The wifi was extremely poor and kept disconnecting. I had to rely entirely on mobile data throughout my stayIf you don’t need reliable internet, this place could be a great fit — especially for the comfort and convenience. But if a strong connection is important to you, that might be a dealbreaker.

Great hotel with large conformable rooms, well equipped with everything you can need. CheckIn and checkout are automatically handled, no staff involved.

Loved how clean it was, the organic and supplemental amenities, and they had best shower water pressure of my life!

Wish they had a table and two chairs. Because most local restaurants close by 4pm, we needed to eat convenience store foods at the room when we arrived too late and the room didn’t offer space for more than one.

Curio offers no peripheral amenities, facilities or experience. It’s a very new, clean, secure, livable space convenient for Shirakawago. There are no staff or check in/out (as such) encounter.

Shirakawago has no surrounding amenities A map of combini, restaurants etc. maybe a tv. ?

We didn't really see or talk to anyone there. You get in by code and everything is impecable. The hotel is not in the center of the Shirakawa-go village but it walking distance and has nice restaurants around.

Unique. Lovely setting. Bright, with plenty of natural light. It seemed very new. The quality toiletries, pajamas were a nice touch. It’s also a 5 minute drive to Shirakawago village.

Choice of nearby restaurants is fairly limited but the one recommended by the property, Tenkara, was very good. It’s a 5 minute walk from Curio.

It is modern, clean and comfortable. My unit B is on the ground floor with direct access to the car park. Movement of luggage was a breeze. It is also spacious.

There should be hooks in toilet to hang towels.
