Kunang- Kunang Heritage Villas

The villas are very unique, beautiful, clean, and traditional.

WiFi was intermittent. A/C did not work properly. Staff was not helpful at all, which is rare and surprising in Malaysia. Couldn't give me a receipt. Left my bag with the staff, it ended up sitting outside unprotected. Must take a taxi to go anywhere.

I had a great stay at Kunang Kunang Villas. The rooms are really cozy, comfortable well decorated and full of charm. The property itself has a quiet, relaxing vibe and feels very true to Langkawi. The restaurant was excellent as well — I really enjoyed the food, and the staff were kind and welcoming. Overall, it’s a peaceful place to unwind.

Some of the facilities could use a bit of maintenance. The pool area wasn’t as well maintained as it appeared in photos, and the small gazebo area behind the pool felt a little run down and could use better upkeep. Also, when I first checked in, I unfortunately found a pair of women’s underwear left behind in the closet — likely just an oversight by housekeeping, but still unpleasant to discover. Aside from that, everything else was good, and I still enjoyed my stay overall.

We loved the ambiance! The buildings are so beautiful. And the space is well kept. Our villa had so many lovely details.

The traditional villa building - what an authentic experience!!The staff was nice and attentive, helping me with the booking of my tours in advance. The restaurant food quality was exceptional.

The location is alright - perhaps purposely made so - there's nothing around the resort and one has to cab basically anywhere. The grab fees are reasonable on the island so it is not really a deal breaker, though.

The rooms were amazing with the traditional Malaysian touch. The surroundings were cozy, facilities were adequate, and breakfast was excellent.

I paid extra for Lake and Mountain View, but none was available as the view was being blocked by bushes in front of the room. Foremost, the air-conditioning was not at all adequate. We were sweating even with both ac on. The staff told us to switch off the fan and then use ac, but it didn't work.

Absolutely stunning villa, exactly like the pictures. Friendly and helpful staff. Tasty breakfast.

There was air con and ceiling fans in the villa but was still quite hot for us for everything on max.

The heritage style and the lake beside the property make it a magic space. Very unique and relaxing place.

The place is wonderful but you need your our transportation because is an isolated location

Enjoyed our stay at Kunang. The room was beautiful and just what we wanted. The restaurant food is superb quality with a nice breakfast included

Beautiful accommodation and location. Very peaceful. Much better than staying in a resort. We hired a car (very cheap) and Grab (taxis) also cheap and easy to use. Staff were lovely and the food was delicious. Close to the airport but you only heard a few planes a day. I'd 100% staff here again and recommend it.

The beautiful Villa had so much character and was just delightful. It had everything you need for a trip. I wanted to spend all my time there and not do any sightseeing!!!! Swimming in the pool and being surrounded by lotus flowers was magic. Two treatments at the spa and I was in heaven.

The place was clean, and breakfast offered new options every day. The staff were super friendly and helpful.

It would be great to have an extra sheet or blanket for the chilly nights. Overall, a fantastic experience!

A beautiful hotel complex just outside the resort of Cenang. A very warm welcome from the reception and great bar and restaurant facilities. Grab taxis made it very easy getting around the island with the advantage of being able to retreat to the tranquility of the stunning pool and decking at Kunang Kunang.

Lovely place to stay, clean and superb plants etc surrounding the villas. Villas were authentic and comfortable. Breakfast was great. Pool is great.

The bar closed at 5pm.We stayed 3 nights Mon, Tuesday and Wed but unfortunately the evening restaurant isn't open on those days so we had to find somewhere to eat every evening.

Loved the original bungalows and how they had kept the character , also loved how spacious they were . Pool area was also very unique

The only reason I gave 9/10 and not 10 was the breakfast , they probably could of had a menu option for eggs toast to come out and maybe some more options of fresh juices

The accommodation has a few good points: the house is clean, the air conditioning works well, and the pool is amusing (though the sunbeds are unfortunately not in the sun).

It is extremely noisy—you can hear not only the guests in the restaurant but even the sound of knives on plates. Additionally, the location is far from everything, so you’ll need to rent a car or scooter to get to the beach, which is about a 30-minute drive away. The biggest drawback, however, is that it’s right next to an airport. Dozens of planes take off and land, creating constant noise.

A few millipedes in the bathroom but we are in a forest so there’s not a lot you can do about that!

A complex of several villas-houses in an authentic style, everything is thought out to the smallest detail (robes, mosquito repellent, adapter, etc.), beautiful, stylish, comfortable and relaxing. The breakfast is great. The pond with lilies is beautiful. The space is well organized: neighbors in other villas do not interfere with each other.

Everything is perfect

Kunang Kunang Heritage Villas feel like an incredibly special experience capturing a moment in time - each villa is unique and has been collected by the owners and relocated into this magical location. The main reception building is a 300 year old traditional Langkawi timber house. The details are beautiful and all the furniture throughout is an eclectic mix and add to the sensation of going back in time. Each villa is very spacious and have great bathrooms, some with an outdoor lounger which is nice for a bit of private sunbathing!The staff are all incredibly welcoming and friendly, helpful in every way and if you just wanted to kick back and relax its the perfect place to do so. Despite being next to the airport it is incredibly tranquil and you don't notice the planes.We went as a family with our 2 year old son and my 80 year old mother. The only thing to point out is that a lot of the villas are up steep steps so be mindful of that. The gardens are beautifully landscaped and great for kids to run around.There is also the Teratak Spa and the traditional massages are brilliant - so good we all booked twice! The food is all consistent and good but nothing to shout about. We went into town most nights for dinner and just had snacks and juices in the day at the Villa by the pool. Altogether a gorgeous stay and will be returning for a couple of nights at the end of our trip before we fly home.

Wow! It’s gorgeous and the staff so efficient and super friendly. The pool is one of the best places I’ve ever taken a dip - what a setting!!(I recommend set lunch A - goose egg v.yum)
