Friendly staff, full of cats and a dog rescue, beautiful colonial era rooms

The private villa is amazing. It was a nice experience to stay at the old wooden villa and the terrace was nice. Most of the staff are really helpful.

Cleaning staff kept forgetting to leave toiletries every single day.

Beautiful surroundings. Excellent pool. Excellent food. Overall satisfaction.

Rustic place, has its own colonial style, great people work there.

I wish we could have an access to the beach!

Excellent service - Temple Tree very kindly delivered my breakfast to my room the night before because I was heading out early for a Half Marathon the next morning much earlier than breakfast hours.

I had an amazing stay at Temple Tree Resort. The service was excellent, and the property itself is absolutely charming — full of colorful character, history, beautiful architecture and overall just had really good energy. It felt special.. The rooms are rustic but cozy and comfortable, with everything you need. The restaurant was really good, the location was convenient, and the staff were warm and attentive.

Honestly, nothing major comes to mind — it was a lovely experience all around.

Very peaceful and charming resort. We loved the colonial style accommodation and the cute cats. The restaurant served great food and has good vegetarian options.

Vegan breakfast options weren't great.

The villa we stayed in ( Colonial) was decrepit, unclean.and done up with minimum expense. Shutters and doors don't close. Hasn't been painted for ages, dangerous electrical wiring, rotting wood, insect nests, cheap bedding, ripped lamp shades, - the list goes on and on. In the main suite the fans were so noisy we couldn't use the room - they were fixed by our 3rd night Christmas musak on repeat everywhere from dawn til dusk. Restaurant food is below average for Malaysia. For the price of the hotel you would expect A LOT more. Really expensive for what it is.

Restful place which all very relaxing. Friendly staff. Nice pool (larger one).Very kindly allowed us to use other room for shower etc. since evening flight home.

Building work adjacent to main house. Noise a bit intrusive and guests might have been better informed of this activity. One of waiters apologised in fairness but nobody else.

I can't say how much we loved this hotel. Loads of characters, very comfortable. We stayed at colonial 2 and it was amazing. Staff where amazing and very helpful.They arranged a tour to the mangroves for us. The restaurant is also very good and reasonable.This isnt a modern hotel so does have some quirks which adds to it's charm but does have some mod cons WiFi Decent TV with netflix and AC.

The resort is really beautifully renovated from colonial buildings. Every detail is thought through and looks like a design magazine. The service is super friendly and welcoming. Breakfast is provided from early morning until brunch hours. Room was big and comfortable.

The linens could have been better, my bedsheets were musty all 3 nights. Breakfast could also be better quality.

The pool, grounds, and landscaping were Eden-like. The size of the room was generous with charming updates to humble 19th century structures.

Thin walls and lack of soundproofing in guest room. Shockingly bad breakfast and mediocre food in general.

Service was excellent and the whole place is truly an oasis in Langkawi. Every cottage and house is different, gardens and the pool are stunning and food is great. We had a really great time there!

Cleanliness in the room was not perfect, even sheets were not that clean.

Everything was great at Temple Tree. Amazing staff that is friendly (Kak Mimi, Azizi, Fauzan, Aya, Irene) and makes customers feel welcome. Beautiful atmosphere inside and outside especially Rumah Negeri Sembilan. This is our 2nd tim1 stay there. Definitely will come again.

Need to go back to Kuala Lumpur

The hotel style and vibes - simply amazing, if that's the vibe you're looking for.The room - charismatic, colonialism-era style, large. Beautiful old-school decor.Service - shout-out to Irene and the team of locals that put together a great squad that was supportive all along.Restaurant/bar - great menu, good combination of local and international drinks, great vibes.Pool - beautiful setting.

A/C and volume - wooden villas/rooms mean A/C won't be as effective as in standard rooms nor will the windows be able to keep noise in as much. But that's the price to pay to stay in such a charismatic place, so we were ok with it.Proximity to the airport - often this can be an issue due to planes going by frequently, but in this case it was not an issue at all. Flights aren't that frequent, and anyway only during day time. They actually add to the mystique of the place if you ask me ;)
