    Pros +

    • The woman that worked there was very very kind. She helped us with all we needed, and even took us to the bus station. And then she returned to the station to bring us something we forgot in the room! She is a really good person. Thank you so much Marie! ??
    • Room with nice view one a good day see the top of Fuji mountain, room nice size host extremely nice very helpful. The place is in a quiet place where you will need transportation.
    • Our stay here was a lovely break from the hustle and bustle of Osaka, located in the quiet town of Yamanakako. If you want to see Mt Fuji and escape the crowds of Kawaguchiko, this is a great place to stay. Marie was an incredibly kind host who went out of her way to make us feel at home. She very kindly offered to drive us to the local 7/11 and arranged a taxi to our next destination. When we arrived, Marie prepared us some hot tea and fruit which was a nice treat after a long day of travel.Thank you Marie for your kindness and a memorable stay!

    Cons -

    • Showers will take a while for the hot water but overall standard for the area
    • Taxis are limited around Yamanakako, and buses run infrequently, so keep this in mind if you’re without a car- however, there were bicycles available at the accomodation which were great for exploring around town.
    • Mostly the warmth care and thinking of every detial to satisfy the guests.

The owner was really nice and directly messaged us about a jacket we forgot, so we could pick it up.

Excellent host!!! She's one of the best host you can find in the place. The place itself is a huge house that's renovated tourist accommodation. Has all the amenities required for a short trip to this place. Close to Yamanakako lake and if luck can have a great view of Mt. Fuji

The host, the location, cleanness, facilities Our host was amazing. She helped us a lot after our hike to Mount Fuji on a stormy day. So caring and supportive.

We enjoyed so much Maries hospitality, who made us feel at hom from the first moment, and even before. The place is a real home, beautiful and full of facilities also for small kids who loved it. Thank you so much Matrie!

Excellent host, felt very comfortable. Directions were very clear, helped us with bus bookings, dropped us at the bus station. Bikes were great for riding around the lake, a must do with constant views of Mt Fuji going to be a highlight of our trip to Japan..

Quiet Location, Enough room for everyone. The lake is nearby. The kitchen is large enough to cook a good meal for everyone and the dining space is decent enough for a good family meal.

The toilets on the first floor were broken. There was no explanation about the free cycles and so we hesitated to take them. The cycles were supposed to be for guests. The toilets on the ground floor would have been good for the elders who came with use as during the day they would not have to climb up to their rooms upstairs for toilets. Communication in Japanese as well as English was difficult as the owner/staff were not well versed with any of the two languages.

The pension felt like a second home at Lake Yamanaka. The hostess was extremely kind and welcoming. Since public transportation is scarce in the evening, she drove us to get dinner at a restaurant and she returned and picked us up once we were finished.

    All great!

We needed a place for a very short stay near Fuji, and pension Marie was perfect! We were greeted by the owner/manager, who was more than accommodating. The guest house was exactly what we expected - not the newest/trendiest, but very comfortable, a good value, and impeccably clean. The shared bathrooms were no problem, we hardly saw other guests. Fun stay!

The owner was so nice and helpful, and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. She even prepared us tea and snacks in the evening. watching Fuji San from bed and as also very nice. the location is beautiful and the common room is very inviting and had many options for the kids to play with.

there were some beatles in the room, even though the rooms were clean. we just took them out. no big deal, but is did make my son a bit uncomfortable

Super friendly host, an auto room upgrade for us with homey breakfast.

it will be difficult to carry luggage upstairs if u have big ones.

    8RonPosted on: 4-1-2023

The hosts were extremely kind. They gave us a ride to a restaurant and back as well as to the bus station. Breakfast was very good.

The location is a bit far from the village. We had to walk 30 minutes to get to restaurants. Room heating is AC which is not very cosy.

I like the quite and peaceful pension. I rusted old Japanese style house is nice. The owner is fantastic very helpful and can speak Mandarin which hp me a lot.

You need a car for easy access to the pension. Bus is possible but I think will be less convenient
