    Pros +

    • Nice and cozy, modern looking with a boutique feel. Good for your moneys worth. Quite close to jb sentral and city square there's a walkway that gets you to the mall in 3 min.
    • Location is really good. It's close by ciq, city square and Komtar. The hotel can be accessed via the stairs beside public bank (probably may seem eerie at night) and also can cut through via zenith mall which is where we booked out grab pickups (it's near amari hotel & suasana). Also liked that there is a water filter station in every floor.Other things I liked- there's a small chiller- has basics like kettle, cups, tea- space for clothing- staff was pleasant with no issues on check in or checkout
    • The hotel is in a great location, just a short walk to City Square (can access through the alley beside Public Bank). Check-in was smooth at 2:30 PM with RM100 deposit. Room was clean with good hot water pressure, and I was given a big bed as requested. Lift access available even for basement rooms. Two bottles of water provided, and there’s also a dispenser upstairs. Staff provided a hair dryer upon request. Easy early check-out and could leave my bag at the counter. Mini-mart and mamak restaurant nearby.

    Cons -

    • Washroom shower was slow to drain. Traveler tax was an extra charge and I wasn't aware.
    • For the price, I guess it's okay if you're just staying for a night. A few things that I didn't particularly like.- the window is only facing towards the corridor side which we permanently kept closed for privacy. There was barely any sun in the room - it's a small room- the cleanliness could be improved, perhaps scrubbing down the bathroom tiles more and deep cleaning toilet bowls- not very soundproof. I could hear a kid shouting from the lobby- maybe don't use a red old floor mat for the toilet? Overall, everything else was somewhat expected for the price. Just wanted to try and see how it was in person as it looked clean in pictures. Thinking back, the room wasn't extremely dirty, but idk there's something about the room that makes me feel a bit icky.If I'm being honest, I probably wouldn't book again as I wasn't as comfortable in the room & couldn't sleep well. No offence to the owners, but I probably prefer citrus (club suite) in comparison for budget hotels or would be willing to pay a little more for a bigger & cleaner room & windows.
    • Standard rooms are in the basement with no window, I was woken by slamming doors at night, the bed was a bit squeaky, and the TV lagged sometimes.

Location is easy to find, perfect for cross border work trip

The lower level room has a musty smell to it.

I was very disappointed with my stay. I had specifically booked a “high floor” room, but was given a room on the 2nd floor. When I questioned this, the staff told me it was the highest floor, even though the building clearly has 5 floors. Their explanation was that I had requested a window — which makes no sense, as this implies that their “high floor” rooms have no windows. The staff’s tone was rude throughout the interaction. On top of that, the toilet’s shower head was broken and dirty, which is unacceptable for a hotel.

Replace the smart staff and better-looking and most importantly polite!Clean the toilet bowl properly and replace the broke items!

The location of the hotel & water dispenser for refill.Price is reasonable & fair.

Need to inform reception if you need a clean up for your room. Even though the receptionist say that she did informed upon check-in but at least put a signage in the room for reminder. The room comes with the clean up button together with DND but still needs to inform manually. The staff talks loudly in the morning with each other which disturb my sleeping for 2 days.

Staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating to our request (early check-in (12pm) with a minimal fee RM30). Lift was operating well when we were there. Room was quite okay when we check, but dont expect good window view considering the location is in between high rise buildings. TV has quite alot of channels to watch for our room, and there are also a few Radio FM channels too. Aircon was great, no leakage whatsover. The deco at hotel lobby is superb, very old school, room deco was also okay.

Quite a few things that we dislike but didn't complain much; make-do with it since it's just one night stay. The longkang smell from the back alley may seep in after a while so ensure that the window is closed tightly. The water heater in our room wasn't functioning, bedsheets had stained, water dispenser outside our hotel room did not have hot water (needed for our kid); dispensed room temperature, room was abit dusty.

    Only the location

We stayed here before years ago. It is probably really not at all maintained. The room smelled so bad and definitely has a mould problem. The towels and sheets were dirty. We are okay with budget no frills stays but cleanliness definitely should not be not be compromised. I wouldn’t recommend even if this is cheap and convenient

The hotwl is strategically located to the nearest malls and eateries.

The hotel not facing the main road is disturbing as it is facing old buildings and it has filthy look. It feels like not staying in a hotel.

The location is perfect. The interior design is pretty cool. The receptionist is welcoming and nice in her conduct. Opposite it is a food court with various options of local delicacies. A short walk will take you to an nice old area of JB as well as shopping malls.

The air conditioning was pretty bad, either due to an old air-cond unit or one that has long not been serviced. One of the towels had stains.

    6JialiPosted on: 12-22-2024

    Conveniently located, pricing.

Surcharges for late check out and early check-in. Lack of sheltered walkway and flooded road during wet weather. Faulty facilities in-room. Sounds from the next room could be heard audibly.

    6OngPosted on: 12-19-2024

    Pleasant

Bed and pillows not so comfortable, toilet seat area is cramp and there's no toilet lock

    4HoPosted on: 12-17-2024

The Location is near to the shopping centre & CIQ. Just within 5 to 8 mins walk. Strong Wifi with Decent TV channels. 2 towel, 1 floor towel, 2 mineral water, Teabag / Cups & a portable kettle.

I booked a superior queen room & pay extra for higher floor and yet given to 2nd level. I explain that, I prefer higher floor but they told me they have already arrange for me. In total there is only 5 levels. The 5th level belong to the staffs. I had given a room on 2nd level & facing a lift. There is only a small window facing the corridor & the room is so small. Sad to say, I had pay for the room and to do the cleaning for them. The Floor / Rack / Hangers / Toilet are Dusty & Dirty. It was so noisy as my room is right on top the of the reception & lift landing. The Lights are dim and Toilet floor are slippery without any anti slip mat. During checkout, I was told. Higher Floor Room (Window Facing Main Road) is by first come first serve basis which I wonder why are they stating a higher floor and selling in the platform which I found been cheated. Sad. Very Sad.

Near to City Squares & JB custom

Was given torn white bathing towel on 1st night stay. Shower area without any shower partition, it causes the shower water to splash all the way to the toilet bowl. No slipper was provided & was disappointed that no tidy of room on my 3rd night stay with no replacement of bathing & toilet floor towel, toothbrush etc. Upon questioning why the room was not tidy & was told that their bed sheet were not delivered by their appointed laundry. Only given a new set of towels upon requesting.

    6FarihinPosted on: 11-22-2024

It was close to the checkpoint and City square.

The walls are so thin that we could hear our neighbours screaming and laughing the whole night.

The room is clean and the place that we want to go it really easy to go

The hotel is clean and the staff is nice and friendly

    8Sy.ngPosted on: 11-7-2024

The hotel is located near many eateries and popular shops, which makes it very convenient to grab some food. It's also a 10-15min walk away from City Square.

The room was ok overall, but it could be better cleanliness wise. Other than that, it's a pretty good place to stay at.

    7AddabdullahPosted on: 11-1-2024

Great location. Only walk 10 - 15 minute to pasar karat jb.

The night staff.. guy. At night around 10pm, i just call & ask about iron.. the guy at night shift say no iron.. in the morning, i ask girl in the reception, they say have ?
