Food quality was good.

Check-in process took 30 minutes! Restaurant manager and staff were discourteous and inflexible. Room was dated, and there were windows without bug screens.

The size of rooms and the ambiance

Breakfast was strictly ok. One thing available one day but even for small kids not available the next. Even after requesting toilet fixing, it was still smelly.. water logging in shower. Not things I expect from this level of a resort

PROS: Location of the resort is very near to city. They keep forest area intact and very lush greenery around. Services are good. Break fast has many varieties. Clean and good services. Safe place for family.

CONS: Rates for the rooms are very high. All furniture s are very old may be 30 years. Paints at rooms are coming out. Window curtains are dirty. We see bigger cockroaches at room. Looks they are not pesticide frequently. Not for old age people, they have to walk more and also there are no ramps for all buildings. Out of 3 pools only one pool working.Too many people approaching you during check in, which is irritating, asking for many questions like where we are coming and etcc for personal information's. Activities are toooooo costly, no one using. For Club Mahindra members separate premier rooms reserved which is disappointing.

Balcony

The housekeeping team is doing a good job in maintaining cleanliness, but the washrooms need renovation. The old taps, closet, and wash basin should be replaced, and the washrooms could be made a bit more spacious, especially considering the rates charged. The owners should also focus on improving the quality of food. While some items are good, the variety is limited, and certain dishes are repeated too often.There is no heated swimming pool, which would be ideal in such a cold location. None of the rooms have air conditioning, as the weather remains cold throughout the year. For the price being charged, guests deserve better quality and comfort.They don’t even provide sealed bottled water, and the bottle caps are often stained. They only give rolled tissues upon request, no facial tissues are provided otherwise which is not acceptable for a property in this price range. In rainy season a big no to this property.

Activities evening event and plantation

Food was average, it was too crowded and staff were pulled every where and looks like they were tired.

The prices for some activities like cycling tour conducted by Happy Hub and restaurant food prices are exorbitant. Need to keep the prices at a reasonable level.

The view

Old rooms and food was horrible

Very peaceful, situated in the hills in the forest with lots of trees - and a coffee plantation although we didn't have time to visit that. Lovely walkways around the estate, and the offer of golf buggy to transport less mobile people to their accommodation (referred to as cottages but actually small apartment blocks). Being on the balcony was like being in a treehouse! Kitchenette contains basic equipment, useful to have dining table and lounge area. We only sampled the a la carte restaurant but the food was good, and breakfast there (served at the table) included lots of fresh fruits. The hotel has solar panels and has won awards for its approach to environmentally friendly practices.Worth knowing that the hills are much cooler than other parts of India so warm clothing needed especially in the restaurant at night!

The only pool we saw (though there is another one) was quite dark, and closed even at 4pm due to having no lifeguard. The briefing on timings and restaurants (there are 3 in all) was very inadequate - we asked the receptionist 3 times to clarify/repeat as her English was unclear, and she rattled off her introduction as she walked up the path to take us to our room, slightly ahead of us, so we could not make out everything she was saying. At no point did she tell us that our breakfast included in the package was to be taken in a particular restaurant, so on checkout we were asked to pay for the a la carte one. This charge was waived, after a bit of negotiation, when we queried it. All the information in the room, and the menu in the restaurant, required using QR codes - a fiddle reading on phones, especially in the restaurant to scroll back and forth. Some of the staff have less command of clear English than others.The high ceilings of the traditional wooden roof made the restaurant noisy, especially with muzak playing a bit too loudly.

Great location & property

We were made to juggle between rooms two times untilwe got a proper room minus all the loud maintenance activity noise from an adjacent room. Though we were supposed to check in at 2pm, because of these issues we could finally check in at 3:30pm. Restaurant food quality was very average!!!

Great LocationCourteous Staff Clean Room. We stayed in Studio.(Studios have all kind of utensils ?)Small Sit out.

For people who need a good WiFi, the speed was slow, although the network was strong in the room.

The Location and the ambience was really nice. The staff were absolutely helpful being warm and cordial. They upgraded the room and my special request was catered.The Food was also nice. Especially the native indian dishes.

The rooms are a bit old. Cabinets needs attention, they smell dust and mold. A thorough cleaning and a topcoat application should make it rectified.

Property has lot of greenery and good spread with lots of variations for walking .Birds are plentiful. Spotted the Whistling Malabar Thrush.staff is polite but clueless beyond their assigned duty

breakfast was not upto the mark:1. most items were like idlis,upma, baked potato were served cold and had to be pointed out to manager.2.curd was tinge of sourness.3.live counters were repeated every day4.Manager approved breakfast start without verifying the contents if they are hot or not5. Nobody had any idea about what can be done in Coorg beyond the walls of the resort.most unhelpful and only want to tell what is on resort. Like no one knew local treks/ trails or sight seeing points of Madikeri

Standards maintained and comfortable

You need air conditioning in summer . Temperatures in the post climate change world in Mercara go up to 36/37 C

Good location

If you are not a club Mahindra member , one is paying too much for the room stay (not worth). Food is good but ofcourse costly compared to other good hotels around. They donot give you any discount on food /drinks as mentioned in booking.com booking. The property can be better maintained .

Excellent location - beautiful resort with lots of wonderful greenery. Kids loved it and lots of things to do inside as well.

Food is quite expensive , the spread was good but not exceptional . Staff were unaware one of the preparations had egg so one of us had a bad allergic reaction . So be careful if you have allergies

It's not at all worth for the money. Very poor quality rooms and they charge 9k per day which is utterly waste. Even a normal hotel will have more quality than this. We r totally disappointed ☹️. They have so many extra facilities but they do charge for every single games. Even they charge for gym. Paying 9k per day and not using other facilities seems to be rediculous. Not upto the mark.

Pathetic

I had utter disappointment while staying in this property, during my stay there were multiple power cuts , staff had a very casual approach and no where they were customer centric, food was below average , location was good . Management needs to focus on training staff , shall never stay in this property. Overall experience was pathetic.

Very friendly and helpful staff; location

The bathroom consistently smelled damp and not fresh. It was also very small- more like a 2 star hostel, nowhere close to a 4 star property.The pictures of the room on booking.com were a tad misleading-Will send a more informative note and pics later.
