Pros +

• Prachtige ligging
• The hosts were incredibly friendly and accommodating - Mikela was always happy to help and was great with us and our children. The location is beautiful, and breakfast overlooking the mountains was top notch. The location is rustic - it's farm and it feels like you're staying at one, but there was no surprise there. The kids loved visiting the sheep, the short hanging bridge, and friendly dog.

Cons -

• In the middle of nowhere
• The beds and pillows were a bit of a lottery - some were soft, some were hard, some were lumpy. Rancho Makena doesn't present itself as a luxury retreat, so our expectations were tempered, as should yours. Overall great value for money at a unique location.
• Strong bad smell in the room, very dark Even with all the lights on. The doors and windows were not sealed, the wind kept shaking the doors and windows. Facilities were very outdated, it seems like a family owned farm, don't know why owners hadn't invested money to update the facilities. I am not a picky person, honestly the bedsheets and blankets were very old which also worsen our staying experience. Lastly, we stayed there for 3 nights and when we asked the Reception girl Makena can we have a slightly different breakfast on the third day (previous two days breakfast were exactly same: scrambled egg, pancake and sausages) She replied that according to the "hotel guidelines what she could do is only change the eggs into the Omelette. I am just wondering if the customers stay there for the whole week, can anyone tolerate have the same breakfast for 7 days This is the very first and only hotel We stayed didn't provide any choice for the included breakfast.
