Grand Hyatt Sanya Haitang Bay Resort and Spa

The hotel is very nice: a huge beautiful territory, fantastic breakfast, the rooms are clean, the staff is friendly and always ready to help.For those who are visiting Haitang Bay for the first time, swimming in the sea here is not possible: very strong wind, dangerous currents… The sea is more for admiring and wetting your feet)We lived in a large room with a swimming pool, the room is really big and comfortable. We stayed in January, and it was cool to swim in the room's pool. Therefore, the daughters only swam in it on a large inflatable flamingo, jumping into the water only once, but my husband swam a couple of times.The territory of the hotel is gorgeous, the architects did a great job; very cool landscaping and height difference work.the details of the hotel : There are 3 swimming pools on the territory - adult, stylized as a natural bath;), the warmest and it was the one that most of the guests swam); children's with slides - my daughter did not get out of it, there is a foam party every day at 5 pm. Delight); and the pool overlooking the sea - very beautiful, but very cold) and it was empty))) the pools have a lot of equipment such as a huge variety of inflatable circles etc.Children's entertainment: in addition to the slides mentioned above in the pool, there is a detached building (camp) with a children's room for games and creativity, a room with slides and a dry pool, and a children's kitchen. Classes are held there almost every hour every day according to the schedule, including cooking class. And this is not only for toddlers, but also for young teenagers there is a special program. Moreover, a playground is right next to the building.Special thanks to the Chinese girl who knows Russian quite well, Daria. She was in touch with us on WeChat the entire time we stayed at the hotel and helped us when needed.

The food, the bed, and the bath

Friendly staff. It was busy during breakfast, but they quickly cleaned up the tables and refilled the food. Also safety guards at all the pools.

The resort was large, but not alle the signs were clear.

The hotel offers beautiful scenery, easy beach access, well-maintained gardens, festive decorations for Chinese New Year, attentive service, and good-quality food in the breakfast buffet and superb-quality dinner in Yu Cun restaurant.

The air conditioning in my room blows an unpleasant odor, the carpet is stained, the TV is malfunctioning and lacks screen casting, some LED lights flicker, and the curtain track is stuck which caused the curtain cannot be completely closed. Poor soundproofing allows noise from upstairs. The outdoor swimming pool is poorly maintained, with broken tiles at the bottom that may cause injuries. Public restrooms have a strong odor, and changing rooms lack cleaning supplies. Smoking control is inadequate, with cigarette butts found in non-smoking areas.

Wifi connection is very slow, we went a few times during our stay to the Atlantis and there its much faster!

I liked private pool it was so nice. Room was big. They gave us extra bed without problem. Staff service was good.

I ordered private pool inflatable flamingo 48 hours. But they give it to me. I’m very disappointed that I couldn’t give my son what he wanted. I saw my next room had flamingo without guest. Even though, my birthday happened during my stay in this 5 star hotel they didn’t give me anything. Even 4 star hotel give paper greetings. This is small gesture.

We loved the property itself. Very peaceful and almost a great escape! I liked the walks in the gardens; the view from our room. That the staff (tried) to meet our needs.

So many things as you can see in the photos my suite was so dirty! Shanghai being opened doesn't explain why I had to have hair in my fridge or food swept under my carpet, cigarette smells in a none smoking room! They managed to clean after I told them. I met with a manager in the club and I pointed out how poor cleanliness is and the floor of the club right where we met was dirty and he took no notice even if i showed him. The hallways and lobby stayed dirty during our stay even if i told them. This is the dirtiest Hyatt I've been too. Nomatter how they try to make up for the next day something else was below expectations. I hope to be back to this beautiful property, but I hope when I do so it is under better management and the hire private cleaning contractors.

The hotel looks quite impressive when we talked in, very peaceful. the staff were very helpful and friendly, we had a late checked in, they helped us with luggages and explained things well. breakfasts were really good, had lots of choice mix of western and Asian food. Easy access to a very quite beach which just the end of the hotel and they offered free photo shooting with 5 free pictures. the hotel is just next to the 68 food hall where has lots of restaurants.

both restaurants within the hotel were very over priced as well as the spa.

very good location with shopping mall close to the hotel. you can easily find many different food around. the room is very spacious. facilities are good.

We had a wonderful stay for the second time in Grand Hyatt Haitang, the staff is very helpful and will fulfill all your needs

Only bad points were maybe a little too many people impacting the overall tidiness of the hotel and the construction outside in front of the breakfast area.

Great room, lovely resort, great breakfast options and the lady at the pool bar/grill restaurant was really helpful on a few occasions.

I booked an airport transfer that wasn't there to collect us so we had to make our own way to the hotel.The room I booked (2 double beds to cater for my family) wasn't available when we arrived and were told we could change rooms the next day; offered 1 king or a twin, neither of which sleeps 3 people, no discount offered.Other than that, it's a great hotel and we would stay again.

Let's start with the day: we liked the wide range of selections at Breakfast buffet, from local to western cuisine. During sunset, we always took a nice walk along the beach, it takes maybe 5 minutes from the hotel to the beach front. It is not a private beach but quite clean and quiet. Our flight was late in the afternoon, so after check-out we chilled at the Lounge with AC.

This is our first time staying at Grand Hyatt hotel in Sanya, when hearing the Hyatt name and the amount of money we paid for each night, we had certain expectations for our stay. Honestly, it was a rather disappointing stay for us. My wife is 6.5 months pregnant, so I wrote the hotel staff prior, hoping they would arrange some pre-cautionary measures, such as additional floor mats in the bathroom or additional pillows. When we checked-in, hotel staff paid no attention nor care about the fact my wife was pregnant. Let's say this hotel made us feel quality of service is not important as long as quantity of customers are arriving everyday. The facility is not fully opened and under renovations, however, they still advertised for it, such as the sky bar, pools. The one and only pool that was open for adults was like a hot sauna+jacuzzi, the temperature of the pool was so hot and unbearable, not the refreshing swim we'd hope for at all. The staff speaks very little English, which for a 5 star hotel we found shocking.

Very nice staff, good service, nice pools, very good breakfast.

There was some karaoke outside the room every evening.

Variety of break fast, club lounge and swimming pool! I can say cost performance is good.

Lobby lounge cafe, outside chairs of the room balcony and the changing room next by swimming pool.No hot water from the shower in the changing room…tried 3 shower booths but all were same no hot water…and locker was not that clean. Looks like not many people use often, so no body really maintain there. But better to check if there is hot water from the shower at least every morning…Staff at lobby lounge cafe always didn’t really take an attention at the guest. Had seat and waited for 10min, no body came and after putting the menu on the table…again no body came… And all cushions on the room balcony chairs were prepared by top side down due to all upper sides were worn out… It was still able to seat but…come on…it’s Hyatt…Overall about this hotel equipments and services, places guests are always there, staff and equipments are ok but otherwise it’s easy to find out shoddy sides…hope these would be optimized.

Family pool and proximity to beach. Breakfast also good.

Good location in Haitiang Bay. Nice decor to the hotel. Restaurant staff were pleasant and friendly. Nice spacious room with pool.

Administration was terrible. At checkin they had problems processing my booking. Was given the room card - not shown or directed to the room. Had to ask where it was and how to get there. The key card didn’t work. Entered the room and the pool was the size of a plunge pool and one you could hardly swim in. Went back to reception and asked to change room. Finally manage to to that. As we asked for an extra bed for our daughter they provided a cot for an 8 year old, even though her age was stated. Instead of a king sizes bed they’d put two beds together and also had single sheets, which was just not acceptable for a hotel if this status and the price we were paying. Lack of information, no proactivity on the administration side. Paid a deposit upon checking in, and then had several meals on site - to then be told we could charge to the room because we didn’t have enough deposit. Only in China would you get this type of response. Needless to say we had enough deposit but we left thinking as long as the hotel owe us money it was ok, but you could not stay there and be charged for your stay at the end of it.

Great location, great service, excellent room layout with a view. I’d say it’s a great value!

Pools, View and the gentle staff

Visited the place with my family and everybody liked it. The staff is exceptional and helping you with all of your needs.What we liked most was the outstanding outdoor and pool area. Even it is one of the bigger hotels with many guests, it doesn’t feel crowded and you can always find a spot to relax in silence and enjoy your well-being.

Exceptional service. Starting from Rocky to the rest of the staff at Grand Hyatt that went all out to make our stay at Hyatt an exceptional trip to Sanya. Rocky made huge customer service/ efforts to make our stay a memorable one. Shout out to Maggie, Chris and rest of the Hyatt team. Great breakfast selection. We really enjoyed the food at Pool grill. Overall a wonderful choice for holiday at Sanya.

Two areas that could improve. One is the selection of TV choices lacked English movies such as HBO, Starmovies, Cinemax and etc. Plus not much activities for teenagers/older kids. Howver the overall service and experience made up the these gaps.
