Sheraton Sanya Haitang Bay Resort

An airy hotel with large clean rooms and well kept grounds and pool. A good 10 minute walk to the beach, which was difficult to find.This is the first place that accepted Visa.

I had no wifi for my entire stay and my VPN wouldn’t load, unlike elsewhere in Hainan. Staff refused to take money off my bill for this. That is dreadful customer service.You cannot swim in the sea, there are signs forbidding this, yet your website says you are close to the beach. The water was very rough & looked unsafe, and you could see it shelved very steeply. There was a metal cage full of rabbits in the hotel gardens and their living conditions were dreadful. It was horrible to see. They were clearly hungry. They had no water in the cage and there was no food for them. Animal cruelty.The cocktails were not made properly. Staff need training for this. This is supposed to be an international hotel with the same standards everywhere. Overpriced for what it offers.

lots of bars and restaurants are closed and vending machines put in their place. lacked atmosphere and childrens activities to call itself a resort

Breakfast not as expected

The hotel was very quiet during our stay and although many pools and restaurants were closed due to covid restrictions we were able to enjoy the facilities that were available.lots of vending machines around the hotel with cold drinks. David was extremely helpful during our visit and we were able to contact him with any questions. Great location, close to a food court. The beach is beautiful.

Swimming pool was perfect.Rooms are clean and bed was amazing.I would stay again there at my next Sanya trip.

Excellent choice of breakfast options. Plenty of different pools to choose from and also other options to keep kids entertained. Hotel is close to Atlantis water park and Duty free shopping centre. Also only a few minutes walk to several different dining options

Apart from Atlantis waterworld most other things are quite a distance away from this area. But if you are looking for a comfortable hotel to just relax by the pool it is a good choice.

The breakfast and all food was delicious. Lots of choice in the buffets and all well cooked. We loved the choice of swimming pool. Lots for our daughters to enjoy and they were generally well maintained. Our room was spacious and very comfortable and the balcony was a great size too.

The service was not great. We arrived at about 4pm to find our room wasn’t ready and at least it took another hour to prepare. After travelling all day with two small children this wasn’t ideal especially when check out is at 12. You expect your room to be ready, and they knew what time our flight landed. We found some of the service in the a la carte restaurants to be a bit slow and the full drinks menu from the bar should not be offered if it’s too difficult to bring the drink to the restaurant! It’s also a pity that the only drinks you can get by the pool were from a vending machine and no pool snacks!

Nice maintained property

General poorly trained staff. All make an effort to be of good service but very junior. Would focus on better training and mix with more senior staff.

Great pools, breakfast was good and pool snacks were tasty, clean and comfortable rooms with spacious and modern fittings.

-Air conditioning was poor, spent two hours trying to fix and then ended up with a fan, despite setting to 18 it remained at 26-27 degrees and the engineer insisted it was 22 from the vent but that was not the case as it was very hot.-Poolside food and beverage service exceptionally slow..2 hours for an ice bucket, after spending time finding someone to order through.-staff notifying us via wechat we were required to pay more as we met our deposit amount, we were checking out the next day and given details were already held, we didn’t want to pay more as were intending on splitting the bill between two friends. We thought we settled at the desk explaining this, but at 10pm a staff manager came into our room (all the way in) saying we needed to pay more, considering my friend has an 8 year old this was not appreciated, nor have I ever experienced it in any hotel as the expectation is we settle on check out.

It’s relaxing especially when it’s Low season

The facilities are very nice. Our kid enjoy the foam party at the kids pool. Free and good playground for kids and many attractions for them. Towels could be used at the beach and leave there at the basket. Gym in good condition.

Front desk and the staff responsible for the tours do not speak English (expected from Sheraton). The pickup from airport did not work out even confirmation received. The umbrellas at the beach were in bad condition.

Nice garden with nice pool area. Rooms are spacious and clean. I booked a Grand Deluxe Sea View Room, however, the view was only partly sea view. The reception was not able to help. Breakfast is just average.

The value for money is not good. Overall I did not feel to be in a 5 star hotel. The staff at the bar did not even know how to make a gin & tonic. However, to be fair, everything worked, but just not at a level one expects from Sheraton

Service in general was very good - checking in & out a bit slow and occasionally seemed to be a lack of training but the enthusiasm in most areas was good to see and all staff very helpful..Room was spotlessly clean and comfortable - great balcony with ocean views..The grounds, which were enormous, were interesting and well maintained - pools were incredible - many areas to satisfy all manner of requirements and plenty for children of all ages.

thankfully and pleased to say, nothing major amiss..but - menu choice in main restaurant was a little restrictive.. and whilst a large wine list, little stock.. after saying that, what food was available was well presented and well served by cheerful staff...

The swimming pool is good and bigger than some others in other hotels. The beach is close and the sand is really clean, comfortable even if you run with bare feet. The cleaning service is kind and they do their job good, always clean and tidy room!

Spent new year at hotel lobby bar. It was fine but the DJ music was not suitable for new year at all.The given room was nice and good, but a bit far from reception.The staff mostly do not speak English, but there is at least one lady who does speak Russian!

This is my second stay at this hotel and it was even better than the first time. I have to attribute my enjoyment to the relaxing environment, the buffet breakfast, and the attentiveness of the staff. In particular I have to call attention to two staff members in particular: David and Penny. David was very helpful in helping me to reserve my Christmas buffet dinner, which was delicious, and this was crucial in helping me to enjoy my holiday. He even gave me his contact information and offered his help if I needed anything further. However Penny was the staff member that helped me the most during my stay. Whenever I needed anything, she was always available and willing to help at any time of the day. When I needed to go to the hospital for my nucleic acid test, she helped me with questions and found out all the information I needed before going. She called taxis for me and even checked in with me afterward to see how it went. Throughout my stay, I knew that if I needed anything I just needed to contact Penny and she would help me. I would not have had such a great time if it weren't for the amazing staff at this hotel. I would absolutely stay here again the next time I'm in Sanya.

I wish the system for reserving the dinners was in English so that I could have ordered it correctly. At one point, I accidentally ordered a dinner for two by accident at the wrong restaurant because it was in Chinese and the translation I used was incorrect.
