The first thing we noticed upon arrival was the large, clean, green, and beautifully maintained territory — the staff really takes great care of it. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, cleaned daily, with all necessary amenities. We were especially surprised to find rubber slippers for adults and even Crocs for our child. Our terrace had an amazing ocean view.The beach was spotless and exceeded all expectations. Most guests stayed near the lifeguard, so when we moved a bit farther away, we enjoyed a nearly empty beach — it felt like a private island. The lifeguard occasionally reminded us to stay in the safe swimming zone, but always in a very polite and non-intrusive way. There were always enough sunbeds and towels for everyone.Breakfasts were tasty and varied. My child usually doesn’t eat early in the morning but felt hungry a bit later. We took a few pastries from the restaurant, and the staff was very understanding.There’s a daily kids’ entertainment program and a kids’ club open from 9 AM till evening. Even though the staff didn’t speak English fluently, they always tried to help using a translator.The hotel is only a 10-minute walk from the local market, which was great for dinner options. Overall, it’s a quiet, family-friendly hotel with many guests with children and a very warm and pleasant atmosphere.

The hotel has many self-service machines on-site (for renting strollers, inflatable toys, snacks, water, etc.), which is very convenient. However, foreign guests can’t use them without a Chinese phone number. I had to ask a staff member to rent a stroller for me and transfer money to them privately.We also couldn’t order room service because it required registration through a local app using a Chinese number.There are three restaurants on-site, but they operate only during certain hours. Throughout the day, only one restaurant is open — the food there was honestly overpriced and not very tasty. In the heat of the day, it wasn’t ideal to leave the hotel and walk to the market for food, especially with a child. So we often wondered: how can we feed the child at lunchtime?The poolside and beach bars had a very limited selection — mostly ice cream and drinks.Another issue was the towel system. There are only three towel stations — at two pools and the beach. To get a towel, you have to leave your room key. This means to retrieve your key, you must return to the same station. You can’t take a towel at the beach, swim later in the pool, and return towels there — you must go back to the original point. This is inconvenient, especially due to the long walking distances.On the beach, vendors constantly approached us — about every 15 minutes — even after we clearly declined. No one was managing this.Also, the distance between the sunbeds and the water was quite long. With a child, you had to run back and forth on the sand because it was hard to watch them while they swam.Evenings were rather boring — no entertainment, no discos, just soft music in a beachside restaurant (with paid entry).Still, overall, the hotel matches its price-to-quality ratio.

Room, view, location.

Breakfast not clean, bad taste, too many kids crowded, simply avoid any food provided within the property.

Big and clean room. The sea view room has a decent view - a little bit too far though.Close proximity to the beach. We get to swim in the sea and wash up quickly after that. And we came down early in the morning for a long, great beach walk all the way to both ends (2 hours, 9km). By the way, their gym room and pool tables are great too.

While they provide good variety in the breakfast buffet, the quality is not fantastic. Probably because they need to prepare a of foods for a large number of guests. They have difficulty keeping the hot foods warm and the fruits/drinks cold.

Located straight on a spectacular beach. Everything was very clean and well kept. The green area of the hotel is fantastic. Very spacious room.

The bed is too hard (it fits more the Chinese taste). The breakfast is good but there is too much noise and it's too crowded. Please install a charging facility for electric cars and electric bikes in the parking as there is almost every hotel.

The view was very nice. The hammocks were great. The beach was very good too.The poolside cafe and bar was very nice as well.

There were way too many kids running around and screaming in the hallways, way too early in the mornings. Very noisy. The breakfast was okay, not great. We ended up going to the Marriott and paying for breakfast there even though we had breakfast provide with our room at the Mangrove Tree.One of the staff members at the poolside cafe was sneaking spoonfulls of ice-cream for himself out of the freezer. Not really what you want your customers to see.

We had the laguna suite which was great. Good size room with sitting area and outside seating leading straight to the pool. Relaxing enough. Big bathroom. Staff were friendly and attempted to help as best they could. Breakfast staff tried hard to accommodate our many dietary requirements. Breakfast is sufficient for those without allergies ?. Location to the beach and use of loungers and shade was great. The township was a short 5 minute walk away.

Our room was next to the main footpath to the beach and pool area so was noisy at night for a toddler trying to sleep. Our fridge was not working and when asked to replace we were given an ice bucket (my own fault for not being able to speak enough Chinese to get point across)

The resort is right on beach with amazing views of the bay. There are a ton of water sport activities and the beach lifeguards were super conscientious. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the staff were fantastic! Most of the staff could speak wot at least under some English which really made the entire stay so much better. Breakfast was very busy with tons of people, but the food never ran out and the staff kept the coffee machines working, which is always welcome in the morning! The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was clean and functional.

There were some missed opportunities that I thought would make the resort even better. On the beach there is a “beach bar” but it’s just a fridge with some water and maybe a soda. Having a proper beach bar where you can order some drinks and maybe a few snacks would be great. The same for the pool, there is a swim up bar, but this no longer functions as a bar. Rather it’s just a place to store towels and floating toys. No drinks can be purchased here. Also, a small detail is that there is no conditioner in the bathrooms, so with all the swimming in the sea and pools, you might want to pack your own conditioner, or buy a tiny little bottle at the store for 15RMB.

in hotel restaurants the food is really poor. Korean and Thai food basic and junk.No effort or passion. Basically everyone eats outside or gets deliveries. Smaller pools are closed (like massage pools)Also charges for rubber rings is a bit weird Swimming is banned on the beach. Always red flag. The guards explained that many people can't swim so they have to say no swimming. Waves are strong but it's hard to take as I can swim and so can my kids.

+ Location is perfect , right on Yalong Bay beach and they provide towels for the beach. + You can easily order food from outside. + Rooms are big and clean+ Breakfast has a wide range of Chinese food but ok one for western

- NO coffee at the breakfast !- Staff doesn`t speak proper English, except check in receptionist ( of course ) but it is a very common thing in any hotel in Sanya as far as I understand

We really like the fact that the swimming pool and beach right there at the resort. The breakfast was great! We had a very nice time, and we would like to visit again in the future. The resort is also very clean, and the majority of the staff is very helpful.

It would be great to see a better variety of drinks and food on the beach itself as the little 'bar' on the beachfront only had a few soft drinks to choose from and no food. It was also very disappointing that we couldn't take part in scuba diving or water sports activities as they only allowed Chinese National to participate. We would have really loved to explore the beautiful reefs, etc. But other than that we enjoyed ourselves.

For the area, a fair value.
