JW Marriott Hotel Shenzhen Bao'an

The property was located right near the Ferris wheel down by the water and the area is filled with restaurants, theatres, and shopping.

You need to make sure that you know which building you will stay in. I booked the Marriott thinking it was just one man hotel but there are actually several marriotts that are located around the area. It was a little confusing at first but the staff was friendly and accommodating once I realized I wouldn’t be at the main hotel building.

The hotel had 2 buildings, the main one and a building right next to the Happy harbour with the big panoramic wheel called Glory Tower. The area of the Glory tower is really nice but we preferred the main building where the beds are more comfortable compared with those in Glory Tower which are too hard in our view, and the breakfast much ampler. Also the executive lounge is far much better from all aspects, a great plus. The room was spacey enough and very clean, with everything necessary. Staff was very friendly. Location good for having close the harbour area, the expo centers and the airport. They allowed us late check-out as we showed we had a very late evening flight, which was extremely helpful and appreciated.

The internet was a disaster, basically all 5 days we couldn't use it. The lobby area which is huge and nice, doesnt have any couch or chair, so basically if you need to wait for a guest or friend or a taxi, you cannot rest on a chair, so really unwelcoming for a hotel. Unfortunately until end of feb 2026, there is a construction site right next to the hotel and they make huge noise from 7 ocl in the morning until 23 ocl in the evening. So in the morning is impossible to sleep anymore. Breakfast has enough food choices, however sweets and gluten free products are missing and pastry overall all very limited. Also decaf coffee was impossible to get. However if I have to go again before end of February, I still think I would choose this hotel.

One of the best hotel beds and linen I’ve ever had the pleasure of sleeping in. Also, exceptionally quiet and unobtrusive air conditioning in the room.

A slightly wider choice of Western food would have added extra appeal.

-The staff is performing floor cleaning when I am still eating in the restaurant, they cleaned up all the stuff on the table when I have placed the occupied tag on the table and walked away.- that’s so noisy when the staff is cleaning for the room nearby at 9:00 am when I am still sleeping

Staff friendliness and helpfulness, fully equipped and large bathroom, exquisite rooms and variety of dinner buffet.

The outdoor swimming/sun area is quite dated and not very well maintained

we stayed for work and the meeting room was available the entire time we stayed.ferris wheel view balcony room.gym was new and quiet

location is poor.all the facility apart from the gym were not located in this hotel wingthere were no options for hotel dinning apart from the executive lounge.

The concierge didn’t bring takeaway food to my room. They always made excuses not to bringing up. It was not worth the price

The staff are great, and I would like to express my gratitude for the exceptional service provided by Iris at 4 a.m. She provided outstanding assistance throughout my stay by giving me information about the hotel facilities and the nearby tourist attractions. Although I asked many many questions, she still answered them without getting tired of it. Under this circumstance, I feel the enthusiasm and the professionalism of the hotel staff. Really beautiful hotel with a great access to nearby (food) malls. I booked 3 rooms for my family in the main hotel which were all great. I understood from the reviews there is also a “tower” option which is actually not so close to the hotel.Breakfast was really good with a broad selection of food, however the restaurant was packed with some rude guests. When we mentioned our concerns to the staff, the “complaint” was taken very seriously and professionally handled by Annie. Swimming pool is great with a nice view!

This hotel was terrible from the beginning. We were here for 10 days. The staff, The security specialty vector (didn’t show his badge so this is what he said)the receptionists called David and katirin. The first night was terrible they gave a room that was not the one we booked and it was not clean at all . the main reception was closed. we got to the hotel at 1 and got our rooms at 3:30. Secondly the security followed my family and watched us in an uncomfortable way for no reason. On our third day I went to walk at the beach at 10 pm and there was only one security there no one else. When I came back 10 minutes later my shoe was gone and my socks were left on the sand. I went to the guest service and told them this and they didn’t even look at the security camera and told me sorry it was lost we can’t help you. There was no clean towels in our room and we called 5 times to ask them for new towels but they brought them the next day.

We thought we knew what to expect staying at JW hotel - a safe choice like other major international hotels without "surprises", even though there were some negative reviews about this hotel from other guests. But thanks to Ian! We will again choose this hotel because of Ian's professionalism and friendliness. He made our stay at the hotel memorable.
