    Pros +

    • Location, Views, Service & Food
    • Amazing hotel, the view from our room and the dining room was breathtaking, we couldn’t believe it when we walked in. We had a family room and the couch was made into two single beds which were very comfy for the kids. Breakfast was very good. We were only there for one day to see snow for Christmas and the hotel provided us with sleds and we took the free bus up the hill and spent the day sledding and even managed to feed some squirrels on the squirrel walk. Definitely exceeded our expectations.
    • I enjoyed the hotel and the location was a comfortable distance from the city centre.

    Cons -

    • Bed’s uncomfortable
    • I enjoyed the hotel and the location. I was expecting a better view, and I believed there were empty rooms with a view. Let's put it this way the rooms with the view are incredible you will have a great experience with the balcony but if they give you the first floor facing the street it will be a little bit disappointing. Don't expect so much from the SPA super small and they could put more effort.
    • The blanket felt it had an artificial filling

Way better than I expected. Good rooms, good restaurant, good view.

Modern decor, very in keeping with the landscapes and mountains. Sauna available which is always lovely on those days which are especially cold. The location was perfect - in walking distance to everywhere and buses were easily in walking distance also.

Not all rooms had updated bathrooms but still nice enough and comfortable and clean.

Pretty good breakfast and very nice dinner in the restaurant two nights, but it’s really the staff that make this hotel what it is. They are friendlier than anywhere we’ve ever stayed in Switzerland and were so helpful at every turn, even with a full hotel.

Our room was small for 4 people, but fortunately the balcony helped as it was large and had a great view. This would make a big difference in summer.

Very friendly staff, good breakfast and dinner, excellent location within walking distance from ski lift

    7GeraldPosted on: 12-18-2021

clean, modern, comfortable, friendly staff, location to ski lift.

lacking in atmosphere, no real bar area.

Dinner was very goodSauna was appreciatedPersonnel was very nice

Our first room was smaller than advertised. We asked to change to another room which was bigger and had a better view Breakfast was average: not much choice, cheese was bland ( unfortunate in Switzerland !) no vegetables or fruit. Bread and eggs were good It is not a ski in/ ski out hotel ! 350m uphill to access the slope.

We have been coming to the Alpensonne for many years. The new owner is doing a great job of updating the rooms and the restaurant is really good with a new chef. The staff are wonderful...a special mention to Vasco, who was so friendly and helpful.

    10AndreaPosted on: 1-24-2026

Beautiful charming and cozy setting surrounded by mountains.

    Close to ski lift

You can hear everything, not really soundproof in the room
