Pros +
- Good breakfast. Excellent location. Very quiet.
- The city is fantastic, what an amazing
- Good location, friendly manager, possibility for bike parking, charming old building (redecorated), comfortable beds, good breakfast (extra cost).
Cons -
- Very steep stairs - if you have bad knees or heavy luggage, beware!
- The owner was rude. We booked the hotel at 7pm after leaving a terrible hotel in Limoges, it took us two hours to get to this new hotel, we were greeted by a closed reception and had to call for help. The owner arrived after literally two minutes and told me I would be charged an extra 15 euro for being late. The rooms were advertised as having air con, they don’t! The beds are uncomfortable! The rooms are loud with street noise! Lights weren’t working in the rooms! Breakfast was ok, nothing to write home about though. I spoke to the owner about the extra charge in the morning and he angrily disagreed but removed the charge.

You have to be careful with old style stairs
Location, the biggest bathroom in Europe, we were able to store our bicycles safely
The street was noisy, Abar nearby went late watching rugby match
The location of the hotel is optimal - next to the pedestrian street and very close to the historic centre, We booked a triple room and it was spacious. The breakfast was good.
The only critics is related to the breakfast. An expired cheese was offered to the guests. The housekeeper explained, that he has not noticed that the expiration period was over by 2 weeks.
Good location and friendly staff, very good continental breakfast spread
Strange window AC setup
This hotel is in an absolutely fantastic location to explore the old part of Tours, and is situated right opposite the Theatre. The room was spotlessly clean, and had the most incredibly comfortable bed. Friendly host.
It is an old and quirky building but this cannot be classed as a criticism, but it not a place to stay if you have mobility problems, sadly
Affordable Hotel right in the heart of Tours.8 minutes walk from the train station, and in a walk distance from all the attractions. The staff is amazing and kind. The rooms are a bit small, but have their own charm, and are very comfortable.
The only thing that was a bit unfortunate was that the hotel didn't have elevator.
Excellent location, reasonable price, there is no noise at night.
Very small and quite smelly room.
Small hotel in centre with separate bike storage
The hotel is well located for someone travelling by train, as it is about 10 minutes walk from the railway station, but also central for the old town and museums etc. The breakfast was good quality.
The room was rather small, but fine for a night or two.
Clean, well located
All fine but the WC very tiny
The location is very central, five minutes walk from the station. There are plenty of good restaurants in the nearby rue Colbert. The building once was a boarding school where Balzac studied when he was a child.
There is no elevator and the reception is on the second floor which can be a problem if you have a big suitcase. Also my bedroom looked on the street and I was awake quite early.
The host was very accommodating in the morning and let my elderly parents check in early when they were not feeling well. There was a portable a/c unit in the room, which is better than no a/c at all.
I had a frustrating experience checking in, because no one was at the desk, and there was a sign on the door to call. Coming from another country, my cell service was not working, so I had no way to do that. We had to wait for quite some time for someone to show up during what was posted as working hours. The facilities are older and run down. The small, spiral staircase is difficult to navigate with a bag. Breakfast was not appealing to me at all. I am midlife, and I would have enjoyed this experience in my 20s, looking for a cheap but cozy place to stay on my own. It does have a certain romantic charm, but would not be my first (second, third) choice now, with or without my family.
location was superb, very centrally located
very small rooms/shower
Excellent breakfast. Great location. Excellent slur for money. You may need help carrying your suitcase up the winding stairs.
very nice family run hotel in an attractive old building. immaculate with very high level of finish. room small but comfortable. excellent location close to centre and train station.
A traditional French hotel in the historical centre of Tours close to all amenities including the train station. The hotel owner is welcoming and very helpful. We arrived on bicycles and these were stored in the owners garage for a small charge. Breakfast is a buffet with a good range of food.
There was nothing we didn't like.
Nice location. Clean and hot shower.Breakfast was fine.
All was ok
Breakfast was ample and the location across from the Theater was ideal. I was especially impressed by the host upon arriving: he cleaned the room key with purell, showing his concern for our safety during the pandemic.
The appointments were somewhat dated but actually fit the theatrical motif.
