Pros +
- Great location; loved the staff; very clean; good breakfast.
- The hotel is family owned. The owner, Olivier was so nice. He helped us find reasonable parking. He suggested two great French restaurants nearby. The hotel is located on Colbert St, a very old and active city street near the famous cathedral and down to a major shopping area. The narrow street is a bit gritty, but very active o to our liking. The room was very basic, but had a very welll remodeled bathroom
- 15 minutes walk at most from Tours station, Hotel Colbert is in a great area. Rue Colbert has so many eating options from cheap and cheerful to more classically French but affordable. About 10 minutes walk to the old town and other sights. The cathedral is closer and worth some time. Walk the short distance to the river - autumn and spring would be beautiful. Our room was huge for 2 people - not complaining - and several floors up, with a beautiful view across the rooftops. Delightful and romantic. Decorated in a fairly basic, modern fashion but very clean and comfortable. The hotel does not have a lift, but the stairs are wide. And the proprietor is happy to help.We didn't have breakfast here, but we did hear other guests commenting the breakfast was fine.A good base to explore Tours and its sights, and on the train or bikes along the Loire for chateaux and wineries.
Cons -
- The hotel has no elevator. This required us to walk up five floors to our room. We did it, and we are in our late 60's, but just be prepared. Olivier help me, my husband managed his. This is a basic family hotel and not luxurious if that is what you want. There is an to buy breakfast. (We didn't as preferred finding some coffee and a patisserie on the street, so can't speak to that.)We would definitely return
- Perhaps a small fridge to allow guests to bring in a few essentials. Tea and coffee were available in the room but nowhere to store milk or a few snacks.
- location though good, to get there you had to walk through not so nice streets

The door to the bathroom didn't close very well.
Very nice owners and very good location. Close to the river , restaurants, and transportation.
Quiet room on an old busy street.
Superb location to explore Tours ??Easy access and check inFriendly owners, cute cat. ?
Need to climb up the stairs with our luggage. Rooms abit dusty with musky smell. Not much amenities in the room and no air con ( u can open the windows)
Good selection at breakfast, attentive host.Good location for local restaurants but parking difficult.
Difficult to park nearby but not much you can do about that.
location excellent for central Tours, we were lucky with parking, lack of lift (to get to the second floor) was a slight problem
Great location, hotel is beautiful, room is excellent, staff is super attentive.
no elevator but it has 3 floors only, so stairs it is.
. Kind reception staff .
Very very basic hotel .Everything was minimalist .Not a great locality … rather dubious . No elevator.
A great location in the historic part of town. The room was a good size and staff friendly.
We parked in a street nearby and had to keep an eye on the time to move the car.
Great location, lovely rooms, nice breakfast, owner very friendly and gave great restaurant recommendations
Two flights of stairs to room
Excellent location and a very warm welcome from this great value hotel. Large room and clean and comfortable.
Fabulous location in the centre of Tours, exceptionally clean and the best hotel mattress we've slept on in a long time, we were greeted with the warmest welcome from the owner which was appreciated after a long day travelling. A great little find in Tours which we highly recommend.
Nothing! keep doing what you are doing ?
The place is in a really center street with a lot of nice places to eat.The man at the front desk is very very nice. The place is clean, the service staff is really gentle. The room was clean and big, with a good taste in the colours.
Our room was on the third floor without an elevator (but the front desk man kindly proposed to help us with the luggage).
Location, spacious, comfortable and clean
Location is superb - right in the middle of the city,Excellent host with lots of local knowledge.Rooms well furnished and very clean and tidy.Recommended
Parking is an issue but the hotel has advantageous rates with a secure underground carpark albeit 10 mins walk away.Lack of lift could be a problem on the upper floors.
The owners were very friendly and helpful with information about sightseeing, parking and bike storage. The hotel is right in the centre for the main sights, bars/restaurants and the river, and has a small secluded garden. The room was modern & comfortable.
