    Cons -

    • Just arrived too late to fully enjoy the facilities and had early start our next day.
    • Drainpipe in the room has smell. it’s a minor point but should be looked at to improve the guest experience.

So glad I was able to stay at least one night in this stunning hotel. Great staff and lovely pool overlooking the waving fields. A beautiful oasis close to the ruins. Also, they will quickly grab a TukTuk for you to get to a restaurant or shop nearby. Lots of small touches to make guest feel appreciated. Unfortunately they were sold out for my second night so I had to move to another hotel (which had a higher Booking rating, but really did not compare). They were kind enough to let me use the pool and store my bags until I was able to move over.

Breakfast could use some improvement. Filled with loud tour bus crowd, but that's not the hotel's fault. Also, don't bother with their free bikes. Just pay the small daily fee to rent something more sturdy and comfortable.

The experience of this hotel was an absolute indulgence. Quite, peaceful, fantastically cared for property with incredible lotus garden in the middle of the yard. Great rooms and the infinity pool and the breakfast, so was the spa experience.Great pleasure of staying and great value for money.

The only minor point was that our room looked at a very green, well cared and quite - still a parking space. They have rooms om 2 sides, should we come back I would ask for the other side. Having said this - we had absolutely no noise or disturbance from the parking.

The Sriwilai Sukhothai is a fantastic property in an amazing location. Our room faced a beautiful chedi just outside the patio, and the design, decor, and amenities were all top notch. The staff were excellent in every way. We truly enjoyed our stay at the Sriwilai Sukhothai.

Although we loved our stay, there are a few details that could be improved. For example, the beautiful brass plumbing in the shower was tarnished, and the cradle for the handheld shower head was loose, causing it to rotate and fall.I also read reviews mentioning the background music, and I agree: the canned, computer-generated piano music felt out of place and distracted from the natural, traditional Thai atmosphere. It would be much better to simply let guests enjoy the natural sounds of the birds. The music was so intrusive that, at breakfast, my Thai wife remarked, "Let's get out of here, this music is really annoying."Regarding breakfast, both my wife and I felt the options were not very healthy. Only white bread was served—no whole wheat or multigrain choices. Fresh vegetables were scarce, and three types of processed meats (bacon, hot dogs, and an unusual processed ham) were offered, which we politely declined. For a property of this caliber, it would be better to focus on less processed food, less white bread, and more wholesome, nutritious options.Another reviewer noted, and we also found, that the air conditioner blows directly onto the bed. This made it difficult to find a comfortable room temperature: when it was cool enough, the air blew on us, causing stuffy noses and sniffles; turning it down made the room too warm. Ideally, the air conditioning should not blow directly on the bed. These are minor issues compared to an otherwise excellent stay, and I hope these comments are helpful and received in the spirit of kindness and constructive feedback.

Very calm and relaxed atmosphere. Spacious room and great pool. Near most temples but in a quieter area. Free bicycles were great to explore the temples and ruins by ourselves.

Amazing location, beautiful surroundings and very kind and attentive staff

    9AnnePosted on: 4-15-2025

The location is absolutely charming amidst a generous garden with a large pool, a pond and a view on an ancient chedi. We used the bikes provided by the hotel to conveniently tour the sites. Because the restaurant was closed during our stay we had our meals at the pool house which was ok. The staff is very friendly and accommodating especially when we had leaks in our room after a heavy thunderstorm.

A stunning hotel with probably one of the best pools in 40 years of travelling. Excellent staff, beautiful grounds, stylish rooms, and good facilities. A calm, quiet and restful place to stay.Would thoroughly recommend.

The hotel was luxurious and friendly. The pool was clean and inviting. Our room was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. We had a fabulous stay. 5 minutes to the historical park by tuk tuk. Or you can cycle.

    Nothing to say

All are good and pleasant to stay.

There was electricity black out in the morning until late when we checked out. Quite discomfort as the room is dark and bath with cold water.

This review is based on a 1-night stay in room 104 (on the way to Chiang Mai) and a 2-night stay in room 504 (on the way back from Chiang Mai). Generally the hotel is quite nice though did not live up to the high expectations that I had when reviewing hotels online. Room 104 is horribly dirty behind the mirror. It looks like it has not been dusted in over 12 months. I mentioned this to the reception upon check out. For a hotel of this quality I was really disappointed to see this lack of attention to detail. Otherwise the rest of my stay was fine. Room 504 is very close to ongoing refurbishment right next door. I fail to understand how we can be allocated a room where there is loud banging and construction noise when we are trying to have a nice quiet afternoon sleep. Also, given my experience in room 104, I checked behind the mirror in room 504. While substantially cleaner than room 104, it also does not seem to have been cleaned for around two months. Why the lack of attention to cleaning behind the mirrors? The breakfast selection is rather disappointing for a hotel of this quality. Too many “lunch and dinner” items are served as breakfast. The bacon was really sad and pathetic unfortunately. The breakfast selection could do with a a serious overhaul. Otherwise, the room was OK and the swimming pool was good, if somewhat a bit cold for my preference. Dinner in the other restaurant was good on all three nights and the service was fine. The grounds of the hotel are well maintained and generally the hotel is quite acceptable for a few nights while exploring the area. I suspect I would choose this hotel when I’m next in Sukhothai but I would like to see the various comments noted above addressed as a priority.

    See earlier comments.

After being offered an upgrade, we were then told to pay up front extra charge for a better room. After paying, we were given a room where scaffolding was being put up DIRECTLY on our little terrace, and work was going on all day plus hammering on the wall just after 7am next morning. I complained about this but the only reply was "sorry".The Spa was really disappointing, both the treatment and the decor...So much is run down and in need of much tlc! For the price,,,so far the worst and most expensive stay on our one month vacation

Spa and its facilites realky was not good at all, decor, awfully heavy bed pillows like lead, dirty walls, wc at pool disgraceful. Turn down service and cleaning very bad.In check out,,, even mentioning our disappointment, we had to pay down to the last 8bht!Would never return...nor recommend

Lovely pool and great restaurant. Quiet property. Enjoyed the use of bikes

The setting is magnificent and the swimming pool is probably the best I've ever had in any hotel. All the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. Our room was huge and had a lovely terrace overlooking the rice fields. It's a perfect location for exploring the historical park

The food was somewhat underwhelming in the restaurant, compared with the amazing flavours that we had experienced in the country so far

    9TugdualPosted on: 1-14-2025

    Everything.

If need to find one point of improvement: no need for music at the swimming pool: birds and peaceful atmosphere of nature and wats are far enough for making the place attractive
