Gategaa Village

A beautifully decorated hotel with such a stylish but homely feel! We got a complimentary upgrade to a Studio Suite which had an amazing outdoor bath, extremely comfortable bed and well-equipped kitchenette. The pool area was great and the outdoor areas were really peaceful and inviting. Complimentary snacks in the foyer was a lovely touch and an amazing breakfast each morning was had! We couldn’t recommend this place enough, slightly away from the hustle and bustle of Chiang Mai but still within a short walking distance. Thank you Gategaa Village for an amazing stay!☺️

The hotel's interior design and guest rooms are utterly captivating. It's clear the owner poured immense effort into every design choice and selection, from the large furniture pieces to the smallest porcelain details. The bed was exceptionally comfortable—it was my favorite hotel during my two-week trip in Thailand.

The only drawback is that mosquitoes occasionally appear in the rooms. While bicycles are available for free use, they require some maintenance.

The room had enough space for three of us with the bunk bed option - which is quite hard to find, (we were travelling as a family with my child, 5 yo). Had a nice little cooking area (nice touch to provide some basic pans and washing up items). The pool on the rooftop was lovely for an afternoon swim. Lovely to leave out little snacks in the main lobby which can be accessed at any time. The staff were helpful! The place was very clean!

The bathroom was a little small for three people to share, could have been slightly larger. Breakfast is a little bit basic (compared to other properties within a similar budget). Lastly, I think it would have been nice to stay a little more central to be able to step out and experience Chiang Mai, especially when travelling with young children - where you might want to come back to the accommodation for a little down time before stepping out again. There isn't much in the direct vicinity of the accommodation. Gaategaa has a casual backpacker vibe to it which I might have missed during my research - but if you're looking for that, then this is the place!

This is the fourth time I choose to stay here- friendly and greenery environment- good place for relax and escaping your busy daily life- spacious room with wise interior design- toilet amenities are good quality especially the rice aroma- helpful staff- good choice of breakfast- unlimited daily pantry at maintain kitchen with tea, fruit or even desserts- foods and drinks are reasonable price- facilities in room welled equipped - good speed internet- small souvenirs from the team as farewell gift

- when you open the fan while the light opening, the scene is like the thriller movie that light keep binging ? it isn’t bad it just I noticed it every time

The room is spacious and clean. Beds are comfortable. There is also a bigger size fridge with freezing compartment in the room. Good water pressure in the shower. Free bike rental with helmet.

Towels are pretty worn out and breakfast selection is limited

The room was spacious and clean, with all the facilities we needed. The staff were friendly and accommodating.

The mattress on the bed was a bit hard and uncomfortable, in saying that, they were in the process of upgrading their mattresses as we were leaving.

Tranquil, cosy and good facilities (washer & dryer). The hotel and room had many things which makes the stay such a comfortable one. Location is also quiet and at the same time not too far from central Chiang Mai. Hotel was also kind to store our luggages a few days when we travelled to another city.

Pillows could have been firmer. Smoking area should be a little further out instead of at the front entrance of lobby door.

I love the room, the breakfast, the dessert, the service they provided. It’s a wonderful experience stay at the hotel.

Everything was fabulous, the room was spacious and clean, the breakfast was varied and delicious, the staff were all friendly and helpful. We loved that the area was away from the old town (only a short walk away) and not so many tourists, there are some fantastic places to eat near by and a great market.

The bed was not very comfortable and the laundry facilities could be improved.

Everything about Gategaa is authentic. The staff, the design, the food, the amenities (oh the roofdeck), the experience. A lot of thought has been put through it. All of that with the rates they have? Definitely a 10/10 for me. Don't change one bit.

There were a bit of mosquitoes during the night when outside the room, but that's expected being surrounded by nature. So, just put on some repellant and stay inside your rooms when it's late at night.

I like the decoration and the room very much. It's very relaxed and comfy. I can use the big ceiling fan instead of the air conditioner because it's very cool and great.

No elevator but the hotel accommodated my mom to stay at the first floor. In general, I think everything is wonderful

The lobby layout and room accessibility was great. We enjoyed breakfast every morning prior to heading out to excursions for the day.

The location for walking was not ideal, you have to walk down alleys to get places by foot.

I’ve stayed at this hotel three times already, and I can honestly say it’s the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at in Thailand—and I’ve been to Thailand four times. This place is simply perfect. It’s worth flying to Thailand just to stay here.The rooms are luxurious, clean, and cozy. The staff is incredibly kind and welcoming. The breakfast is delicious and generous. I loved the view of the greenery outside, and we even saw cute frogs, squirrels, and beautiful birds.The location is great—close to the night market and just a short drive from anywhere you want to go in Chiang Mai.I wholeheartedly recommend treating yourself to a stay at this hotel!
