    Pros +

    • The tranquility and landscape around the hotel if fantastic
    • - Great out of town place with much nature - Great in-park cafe
    • Beautiful quiet resort, jungle style, old trees, nice rooms

    Cons -

    • Breakfast as a bit simple and needed more options, the pool need some repair as well
    • - The initial room I was put in was the only one with no greens on the outside walls (although there were little to no other guest). Requested for a room change as there were bees in the rooms that seemed to keep coming through the AC or some other wholes in the wall - The new room they put me in was the furthest away (again, not sure why as the hotel seemed empty) - There is nothing around, and staff did not offer any options of things to do around the area - Food is mediocre but on the expensive side (breakfast was a mediocre buffet)
    • Poor breakfast, shower need maintenance

The hotel and the grounds are amazing.

When am we arrived we didn’t get any explanation of the hotel area or its history despite the fact that it’s a unesco world heritage site and like a maze. It was only after asking about it the Ohm took us on a 20 minute tour l, which we appreciated greatly. Also when I first arrived at 9:30pm after 12 hours of travel, I really just wanted a beer, but the staff refused to get one, saying the restaurant was closed. They also tried to use the excuse that it was a Buddhist holiday, which it was, but I later found out they’d been serving alcohol all day until 9pm. My room door lock was also broken, making it nearly impossible to enter the room. It was obvious it had been broken for quite some time as the staff was not surprised at all when I told them. It then took two days to get it fixed. So my first impression of this place was that the staff was disinterested in helping out other than doing the bare minimum, in fact they almost seemed to enjoy turning us down. In the end we had a good time, but we didn’t most of our time outside the hotel grounds as everything (food , massage, transportation) all cost 3-4x more at the hotel than anywhere else. For example: pad Thai, massage, car, cost $290, $1200, and $1100 respectively if booked at the hotel, whereas it costs $80, $300, and $600 respectively if booked anywhere else.

We had 2 rooms, the fist one was nice but if you book ask for the upper Japanese room, it was outstanding

Not much really. The breakfast could have been improved!

This is a really interesting place to stay. It is a former tobacco estate and the rooms are in the old tobacco sheds. The rooms them selves are basic enough but the grounds are lovely, mature trees and the whole place with a lot of character. There is a large outdoor pool as well.

Kaomai Lanna resort is a beautiful resort not far out of Chiang Mai. They have repurposed the old tobacco drying barns into beautiful accommodation, cafe, restaurant and tea house. With onsite spa treatment and pool you can relax and enjoy the surrounding area from a beautiful location

The restaurant has great food and many delicious local dishes.Beautiful view and chill The staff are friendly and helpfulHave their own coffee and tea in room

Have ants in the roomQuite boring on a weekdayToo far from the center, so the taxi fee is too high if we want to go back to the cityIt will be better if the resort has a transportation partner, so that customers can move to the center at a better price

    The atmosphere, the trees.

Breakfast — standard, but not impressive. Bedroom curtains don't block the sunlight.

Fantastic renovation of a historical site with bedrooms incorporated into previous tobacco leaf drying silos.Really interesting interpretation museum and great architecture incorporating a cafe, tea house and restaurant.

The entrance and exit roads were in made and could do with improving

    kitchen and restaurant desaster

Very special place. I love what they have made out of this former tobacco estate. I changed room because of the matress being very firm and some barhrooms have been refurbished, others are dated. Lovely, very nice staff at reception allowing me to checknin early. Same at the Cafe and restaurant. This place is perfect to settle down after a road trip or prior to your flight. "Real coffee" in the room bar to brew a cup which makes a nice change to the Nescafe stuff you find elsewhere. Nice cake at the Cafe and dinner was really good. Since I was the only guest for dinner they set up a table for me outside in the garden where I was trated to some really nice Thai food served by the chef. Really enjoyed my short stay!

Can hardly mention anyrhing beside the bathroom of my second room needing a refurbishment.

The location in an old tobacco farm is very interesting with very beautiful trees throughout the estate. The accommodaton is quite simple but very quiet and full of atmosphere. There is a lso a good pool.

The only downside is that the resort does not have a restarant open after 6pm.We had a car so could drive out and find somewhere locally to have dinner but without your own transport you are a bit limited for something to eat in the evening.

the setting in a jungle amongst abandoned an onverted tobacco deyong “barns” is amazing

the hotel was old looking with wooden carved furnishings and - i thi k - dangerous multi lebel flooring

Atmosphere is very good. Coffee cafe is beautiful and great.

    Breakfast choice is quite limited.

    7Lisa-mariaPosted on: 11-23-2021

Very lovely and silent place. Perfect room size, good comfort. Very clean pool. Cozy atmosphere.

Breakfast was very poor. And the hotels web site and description in booking.com is not up to date. Spa is not available, opening hours of the restaurant were very short. The menu is very poor. More than the half of the menu was not available. The stuff did not tell you what is available or not. The stuff is very inattentive… (maybe better without covid situation)

The property itself is amazing. Coming from Chiang Mai city we were looking to spend a weekend in a green area, the place was stunning ! We got a room upgrade, the staff was amazing ! We’ll definitely come back.

It would be nice if the restaurant could offer some vegetarian options !

    - Resort style property- Unique villa and room with teakwood furnishing- Full facilities

-Air-conditioning was too noisy- Two-step difference between bedroom and bathroom

Beautiful trees , lovely place nice & cool , it was so cold during my stay Nice hot chocolate at the cafe

Not well kept unfortunately, a bit tarnished room not in good condition especially the toilet, shower is slow and not warm enough make it very cold The property is 5 stars but service is just fair .
