We just loved the location and the small boutique hotel charm of the olace. The pool area was wonderful and staff super helpful and friendly

Only suggestion I would make is that bathroom lighting needs improvement. Its extremely difficult to see your face for makeup even in daylight, and in the dark its near impossible.

We stayed in two rooms and they were beautiful and clean. Highly recommend the private pool access. Great breakfast, helping staff, central location but quiet.

Both showers were beautiful but you couldn't enjoy it that much because of the low water pressure and temperature drops

Quirky 2 bedroom suite we liked it. Staff are super friendly and extremely helpful. Location couldn’t be better.Only downside for me was lack of sun at the pool.

The location was perfect, the property is gorgeous and the staff goes above and beyond!! We do a TON of traveling and this was one of the best places we have stayed. The staff really made our time in Chiang Mai even more enjoyable by guiding us to the best local food spots and even hunting down an obscure Northern Thai dish that I had 10 years ago and haven’t forgotten about since…having it delivered to our place!! Next time I am in Chiang Mai, I will definitely be staying here.

This is a boutique hotel where I was treated like a family friend. The staff always greeted me with smiles and questions about what I was going to do, or, on my return, how I had enjoyed my day. They even asked to see pictures. They had suggestions as to where to eat and what to see. As a solo traveler I appreciated having someone to share my experiences with.

Everything was great!

We stay as a family, our kid choosed the second floor and felt as a king. Everything is so comfort. The bathroom has 2 showers for each person, the pool is clean and feels like private one. If you like quite and privacy this is a place.

One of the best places I’ve ever stayed at. The villas are beautifully furnished with quirky objects, ours had pool access, pool and grounds are stunning and well maintained, the property is central to restaurants, bars and shops. And all of the staff are just so wonderful! Wi-Fi is consistent and free. Thank you Villa Thapae for such an enjoyable stay ❤️

The staff was amazing at Villa Thapae!!! The hotel itself was stunning and in a great location, but the staff made it even better. They were so friendly and accommodating, and had great recommendations for my group. The beds were a little uncomfortable but everything else about our room was great. It is walking distance to the old city and also to other fun areas in Chiang Mai. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend anyone I know to stay here.

Uncomfortable bed

What an amazing place!! Small and intimate. Gorgeous garden and pool. The room was wonderful. Comfortable bed. Great shower. Loved the direct pool access. The staff, particularly Fray, were so helpful and welcoming. Such an amazing location - a short walk to everything. So good, we changed our travel plans so we could return and stay for longer.

Power went out in our room for several hours one day.Some parts of bathroom / room seemed like they could use some cleaning up and love or the build quality isn’t up to western standards. Tried to smoke weed on the balcony (with ash tray) and the lady working at the desk shouted across the villa to me that I can’t smoke weed because it smells very strong and it’s a small place. I found this rediculous because cigarette smoking is okay (cigarette smoke smells stronger and is more toxic) which made me feel not wanted as a weed smoker.

Beautiful hotel inside and very clean and such a vibe it’s just like being in the middle of the forest

Nothing it was perfect apart from when we arrived there was no electricity due to a power cut but that’s bound to happen.

I loved the intimacy — only 6 rooms, so the staff got to know us and it was very quiet and relaxing. It was also in a great location near the moat and the Thapae gate which allowed us to walk almost everywhere we wanted to go. I cannot wait to come back — I want to book 2-3 weeks in Chiang Mai and I will book it all here!

Smoking was allowed on the balconies which made them unusable at times (I vehemently dislike smoking).

Even though cafes etc are not far away it would be great to be able to purchase drinks (cold and hot) from the hotel. Having said that it os possible to order food/drinks from Grab

This is such a beautiful small property with only 6 rooms. The value is fantastic, staff are friendly, and rooms are cool & comfortable. Location is great as well. Book early as it fills up. We will be trying to stay here again when we return to Chiang Mai. Thank you for the hospitality!

Beds are on the firmer side but still very comfortable

We had the absolute best time at Villa Thapae. Unfortunately we were only here for one night but when we come back to Chiang Mai this will be our hotel for the entire duration of our trip. Ten extra points for the cheerful and helpful woman at the reception, she truly made our stay memorable.

Our family had a wonderful stay at Villa Thapae. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and in a perfect location, just a short walk from Tha Pae Gate and many delicious restaurants. We loved the convenience of being able to walk to the night market and bring our food back to our room. The staff were very attentive and provided us with all the necessary utensils. The room was spotless and well-equipped. The small but clean pool was a big hit with our kid, who enjoyed swimming even on cooler days.

I can not find anything that I did not like. It was such a wonderful moment at this hotel. The staff was always friendly and helpful.
