The Chimes Chiangmai Old City

The room is beautiful, clean and large. The location in the old city is great. The pool is functional and sweet and well decorated

Before we arrived, we were offered either a sofa bed for our toddler or extra bed for 800bht/night. We said that the sofa is fine, but when we arrived, at first they refused to give us extra linen and towel for the sofa bed even though we booked the room for 3. We thought it was a weird service and didn't argue much, and after 10 min they changed their mind and provided them, but it left a bed taste. After that incident, the service was very kind and sweet. There is no closet space (or very little) or enough hangers in the room and the shower water turned from hot to cold unexpectedly multiple times. the air-conditioning stopped working one night and they came to fix it and the temperature could not be regulated (or at least it didn't feel like)Twice we returned to our room and found the safe open. The first time, we thought this was our fault, but then it happened again on the same day after we double checked it before we left. We don't know how many BHT we left there so we don't know if anything was missing, and everything else (passports, dollars, tablet) was there. Maybe malfunction of the safe? it looks fine to us and we didn't have issues in the first few days. We didn't say anything because it was our last day, but felt very uncomfortable overall. In addition, the entire place was full of signs about things you should not do. we didn't see it anywhere else in Thailand. Maybe they had a bad experience with others, but that didn't help us feel comfortable either... All in all, a cute place, good price, but weird vibes.

The staff was really friendly, which we appreciated.

The stay was generally pleasant, but the cleanliness of the bathroom could really use some improvement. There was noticeable buildup and mold between the tiles, which could easily be cleaned with some bleach. It’s a small detail, but it makes a big difference in how fresh and well-maintained the space feels. Hopefully, this can be addressed for future guests.

Perfect location for exploring the Old City. Pool and rooms cleaned and maintained to a high standard.

Very good location

Forgot to hang the sign to clean the room but asked the receptionist to arrange cleaning. Room however was not cleaned when we came back by the end of the day. After mentioning the new receptionist however changed the basics in our room.

Centrally located, quality bedding and and facilities.

The hotel being located just outside a more main street is nice for the quiet at night. The front and reception area are stylish and clean, with a superb pool just beyond, and a very nice bar adjacent. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfy.

The airconditionar was not the strongest.

Had to pay 1000 baht on arrival for key card. Only given back when leaving after inspection of room. We have never encountered that before!

Simple hotel in old town

Nothing. One of our rooms had only tepid water in shower.

The location in Old City was great, had a pool on site for hot days. Though they didnt have breakfast, there are coffee shops and cafes nearby.

I would have liked breakfast on site and included.

Location is good.

The hotel is infested with ants. We had hundreds in our room and staff couldn't help.

The location is very good. 5-10 mins walk from the Thephae Gate and night markets.The room looked decent and spacious. Floor and furniture were clean. And it was really quiet.The pool is nice but close too early at 7pm.Staff are friendly.Good value of money.

I arrived at 1pm and there was no one at the front desk. I waited for few minutes until a staff walked past and then she got another staff to check in for us. I suggest to get a ring bell if there is empty reception.The linen was alright. I found a patch of brown dirt on the blanket cover. But it was too late to get cleaning lady to change it. They just gave me a new one. I didn't change for them. Luckily AC wasn't too cold. I just slept with the blanket cover. And waited until next day to change it. The hot water wasn't stable. It got cold after few minutes. Needed to close the tap and wait for awhile for hot water.Only one key card, would be more convenient to have 2.Once again, still, there is a good value of money. But you gotta expect these..
