Pros +
- The staff were very friendly and always willing to help with directions and suggestions. The location was also great! It was walking distance from the main road, where you could easily catch a taxi or tuk tuk.
- The room was comfortable and clean
- Breakfast, location, room, pool. Everything. But I didn't realise until I had left. From here I want to Ibis Nimman Journeyman and realised how good I'd had it at the Mercure. The Ibis was more expensive so I thought it would be better. Everything was brand spanking new but the rooms are tiny, the pool not as nice and the breakfast not as nice either. The location was VERY Expensive. I highly recommend booking into the Mercure and staying there before they renovate and increase the prices.
Cons -
- It's a little thing, but the hotel was very strict on towels. We wanted extras for showering, and they insisted they could only provide two per day.
- I was quite disappointed with my stay. The Breakfast was very poor, the hotel structure feels old and poorly maintained, which doesn’t match the photos or expectations. The facilities clearly need renovation and better care.
- The place was tired, becoming in need of renovation.

Nothing much
Old property, old furniture, room paint furniture very bad quality.
Everything was brilliant - staff in particular excellent. Room was spacious (we had an extra wide double bed). Restaurant food was excellent and well priced. Staff in restaurant excellent. Staff at reception excellent. Bed very comfortable!
Just dated - this is not the fault of the staff, the owners need to invest to modernise. Very sad to see the hotel so dated.Swimming pools excellent was so cold - anyway to warm it a little?
Breakfast was very good I had a omelette most days which was cooked fresh. I liked the location as I got a good nights sleep and wasn’t fat from the local street food , which even with a shell fish allergy I managed fine. Although a little dated I would return
Maybe a little dated but didn’t spoil a thing
There was a wonderful supermarket just next door as well as a Japanese restaurant. I moved rooms to a deluxe room up on the fourth floor and that room got lots of light and had a nice view of the mountain. The bed was huge and very comfy.
There was a terrible smell on most of the floors which really was quite offputting. Swimming pool area lacked atmosphere. The swimming pool towels are really very tatty and need replacing. It seems there is a bar at the pool area but it’s not open. In general, the place just needs a renovation.I found that the staff didn’t speak good English and have encountered much better English in much cheaper and lower quality lodgings so far in Thailand I was upgraded to a suite but it was horrible, really old-fashioned and in need of renovation and very dark as it overlooked the pool where there was very little light.I felt the location was too far to walk to most things in the old town and I wouldn’t recommend the location if you want to spend time in the old town as there are plenty of better value options in the old town itself. There was a Starbucks downstairs but it really isn’t a proper Starbucks and the barista didn’t even know what decaf was. It’s basically a glorified coffee machine with a brand name stamp on it.
After cleaning the room, the staff knew we were drinking a lot of water. She left 4 drinking bottles for us. Without asking ....
I thought the breakfast was really good. The food tasted very good and there was plenty to choose from. For location, it was very close to the city center and easy to get around on a TukTuk. My girlfriend and I walked to and from the city center to go to the night market, coffee shops and restaurants. The city center was only around 500m away.
All was good. I was very happy with our stay at The Mercure.
Staff was nice, overall it’s was ok
Very old hotel, shower water pressure is very weak. Overall a basic and serviceable hotel
Rooms are specious and clean.
Some guests are very noisy. Some staff members need to be more attentive as I was waiting for my luggage for one hour, did not arrive until I called the reception to remind them. We rented 2 rooms, one was not ready. Same thing as my luggage, did not inform us that the room was ready until I called them and asked. Guests usually travelled for 20-24 hours, wanted to rest , patiently waiting for the room with no response from the staff members.
The staff who received us was really friendly and nice. The team in the kitchen were excellent, and we loved the breakfast.
The hotel should check the plumbing system for some rooms in 3rd floor
The hotel provides free breakfast for Children. They just took the payment for the adult, very reasonable price.
All good
Bathroom and sink -water was not flowing. Plumber fixed. Paid Baht 26,000 for 3 nights x2 rooms. Hi
The hotel is very spacious and clean, It is well located within walking distance of the old city and the staff are very pleasant and friendly. My room was very comfortable.
I was disappointed with the restaurant. I ate there twice in the evening during my stay and was the only one there. The food was rather bland and overpriced. The dining room itself is spacious and attractive. I think there is a lot of potential to upgrade the menu at reasonable prices to attract diners - both hotel guests and local Thai people.
Small but quiet swimming pool. Clean hotel. Great service. Big, comfortable rooms.
Can hear everything from the corridor and other rooms, a bit distracting. Impossible to open the windows. Kettle in the room didn’t work.
Staff were helpful always seemed happy to see you
Very tired, not enough plug sockets in the room and placed in the most ridiculous positionsThe location was poor
I like reception staff and facility in the room.
Parking lots must have canopy.
