It would be good to be able to charge batteries etc. when not in the room. Power cut when access card is removed.

You get a whole apartment for the price of a room.

Very good hotel. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good, with a wide variety of choices. The location is convenient, and the overall stay was pleasant. I would recommend this hotel.

Large rooms, quiet

The location was great, it was our first time in Chiang Mai and it was close to the night markets and the old city so we were able to walk to these areas. The breakfast was great, a lovely buffet true to Asian standards with excellent western and Asian favourites.

Welcome gift. Bell service guy and door guy at the lobby. Selection of mini cakes at breakfast. Loved the interior design and wooden furniture and arts in hotel and room. Soundproof, very quiet if you come for relaxation, peace and quiet this is the place to be. Bed is very firm but comfortable for me.

Free shuttle to Hotel: No response to chat message when mentioned late arrival for check-in due to flight delay informing hotel for the free shuttle service to hotel booked. Had to pay a taxi to commute to hotel as there appeared to be no free shuttle pick up from airport by hotel or I might have missed something.Check-In: Nice and friendly man at check-in. However, no welcoming feeling overall in general by some staff members. Atmosphere feels a bit tense with staff. The sphere feels a bit dead as if it lost it's glory days and can only deliver 3.5 or 4 stars which is in stark contrast to what is shown on the hotel tv channel in the room. Breakfast: Ok, overall same selection of breakfast food each day.Staff: Are very helpful but overall seem not to be authentically happy and welcoming. Cleanliness: Dusty room, cobweb on ceiling, long accumulated dust on chandelier, on bedside lamps, on top of TV, on minibar drinks, glasses and mugs, on magnifying mirror in bathroom. Hot-cold water taps in bathroom are reversed. Also reversed Right Tight, Left Loose leading to unintended more water spillage. Taps were not tightly attached to wall as they came off half loose when turning taps. Upgraded to another room, less dusty but similar situation as previous room but got air refresher in room that helped with triggered allergy. Sticky child hand smudges on lower part of window, carpet had some crumbs and little plastic wrap corners on it. Shower got mold between some tiles, ceiling filter in bathroom also very dusty, shower head has accumulated calc, shower door and wall had shower and wipe smudges, a hair on the floor. Water pressure shower is good however, around every 35 seconds the water got painfully hot for a couple of seconds to restore back at indicated temperature. Slippers and robe (one-size) are to buy if wanted. At check-out, when asked about free shuttle to airport I was advised to book a Grab.

It was walking distance to great food and other markets including the night markets

We booked the two bedrooms premier which has a living room between 2bedrooms. The room was spacious and clean. There is a big dining table too.

Only very basic drink in a refrigerator. Kitchen equipment was poor, there were no plates and silverware even though we have a dining table.

I was expecting more local food at breakfast like sticky rice and mango. It was not there.

This our go to hotel during all our stays in Chiang Mai. The staff is amazing especially the Rooms Division Manager - Ratchaneekorn and her team. The rooms are large and their breakfast is also great. Ms. Moon is a great asset to the team in charge of managing breakfast. The hotel is located in a quiet area and yet very central to get around Chiang Mai. Total value for money

I like breakfast, they hotel receive us with many goodies. Location was good. I love the pool and the waitress in the pool area. He was helpful along the porter.

The bed was hard and uncomfortable. This hotel should at least put a mattress topper or similar. The front desk was not that polite. I feel they ignore guest at some point with a sort of attitude. Also some of the staff at breakfast make us feel unwelcome.

I like breakfast, Location, Pool side and waitress. The hotel provide us with goodies lots of cookies, chocolate and more. But I rather to deal with staff with good attitude that are willing to help the guest.

Reception staff and bed was too hard.

Staff were so helpful and pleasant. When we arrived they had a large welcome basket of water, juices and snacks. We were there four days and were unable to eat all of it. I have never had that large of a welcome gift at any hotel I have stayed at including much more expensive ones.Hotel was clean, breakfast was great and location was close enough to everything. This place is an excellent value for a hotel in this class.

No complaints or regrets with this hotel.

The staff was excellent. All the “extras” were incredible - we loved the enormous goody bag. Breakfast was really good with a huge selection

We really enjoyed staying here. We came for a trip in Northern Thailand and stayed here as a central point, coming to stay 3 times. The staff was always super helpful. The rooms were lovely.

Nothing not to like.

The Empress is a beautiful hotel. The rooms are very spacious and practical.

The Empress is located near a Main Street but the neighborhood is not that welcoming.

Nice clean hotel within a short ride to the city center. Nice pool and gym. Good breakfast. Great staff. Love the welcome goodie bag they give you at arrival too.

Great facilities for me and my son as we like to train. And there gym had the facilities I needed. With a sauna and steam room which we also like. And the breakfast was amazing. Staff were very friendly and attentive.
