    Pros +

    • Loved the beautiful gardens and location.
    • We loved our stay here, it is a lovely bungalow village right by the train station, it is very peaceful the host is really nice and helpful. The pool is quite a good size and is fairly shallow throughout to relax in but deep enough to swim (although I got some sunburn from being in it too long)!Fully recommend staying here, probably the place where we have most enjoyed our time inside the hotel.
    • I recently had the pleasure of staying at Phoumrumduol Bungalows, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. From the moment I arrived, Luke, the exceptional manager, went above and beyond to ensure my stay was perfect. He was incredibly helpful, assisting with booking buses, offering invaluable advice, arranging laundry services, scooter rentals, and tuk-tuks. His dedication to guest satisfaction is truly commendable. The accommodation itself was immaculate, providing a serene and quiet environment that made for a restful stay. Its prime location, just a five-ride from town, made it both convenient and easy to find. Additionally, a delightful coffee shop offering real coffee is only a two-minute stroll away, perfect for starting the day. For basic supplies, there’s a nearby shop, and a supermarket is just a three-minute scooter ride away.Overall, Phoumrumduol Bungalows offers an outstanding experience, combining exceptional service, comfortable accommodations, and a convenient location. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

    Cons -

    • The food could be much better for breakfast. Should have some choice. Or just include the food for free. Considering that for $2.50 could get bowl of Khmer soup, $5 for two eggs and one piece of bacon seemed not so good.
    • A bit far from the centre, but made up for by being close to the train.

Wonderful hospitality from our lovely host. The guesthouse is well located literally within walking distance of the station. Big tasty breakfast. It's a quiet area and has a nice pool. We hired a scooter when we arrived and were able to get around to Kampot to eat, to visit the national patk ( manage your expectations, its not well managed) the pepper farms and Kep( not a lot there unless you want to eat crab). We really enjoyed our stay.

It was nice being slightly out of town, quiet and peaceful. A lovely pool area.

Nice bungalows in an area away from the main hustle and bustle of the town. Nice pool to relax in!Breakfast available separately. Easy to get in and out of town. The manager Luch, speaks very good English which was a big plus! Cleaning staff also very pleasant.

Would have liked to have had more restaurants and shops nearby.Mattresses could have been softer.

The property is outside the main town - very close to the railway station but around a 20-minute walk into the centre. However, that's quick by tuktuk! We stayed over New Year, and Kampot was busy and loud - so we really appreciated this friendly sanctuary. It was lovely being able to come back for a dip in the pool after the hustle and heat of town, and to get a good night's sleep! The bungalows are pretty simple but we didn't need anything else! The family who run the place are very warm and welcoming, too.

The location - very nice and quiet lots of nature on the premises. The staff - Loi is a very friendly and helpful man, speaks English and French and is a pleasure to talk to. The breakfast was very nice too!

the bedsheets and the pillows, natural cloth would be much better than synthetic. everything else was great.

Close to Train Station, Very helpful owner. Peaceful location.

    10BrigittePosted on: 11-23-2024

The breakfast was good and the host was very kind and helpful. The setting was tranquil, very close to the station but away from the bustle of the town a short tuk tuk ride away.

    8JennyPosted on: 7-16-2024

Attentive staff, quiet location set of the road about a 5 min tuk tuk ride to centre of Kampot.Clean amenities including pool and a great breakfast served each morning.

Beds were hard but this may suit some guests and extra pillows would be a bonus.

    9MartinPosted on: 5-8-2024

Very quiet place with bungalows surrounded by a nice created garden. The pool was very clean. And the staff was very friendly with a great hospitality. The room facilities has been absolutely sufficient. If we wanted something, we just had to ask the staff and got it. It's definitely a place to come back.

The umbrellas at the sunbeds were not adjustable and bedded in heavy cement rings. So no realy good shadow for the sunbeds, when there are more people at the pool.

Helpful staff.Very good pool and gardens.Individual bungalows with easy access to the pool.Good facilities in room , fridge, kettle and TV. Internet also good.Separate w.c. and bathroom is useful. There is a private veranda with table and chairs

It is a shame the restaurant isn't open.

    9AdamPosted on: 4-23-2024

Quiet location about 2km from central Kampot, about 1.20 USD in a tuk tuk to town.Very comfortable bungalows. Helpful owner/manager.

    8MaxPosted on: 4-18-2024

Decent place in nice and quiet area, however it was a bit far from the action. Tuk tuks are quite easy to get though. Room was a decent size with separate shower and toilet rooms. Bed was firm but comfortable. The pool was clean and refreshing

    8NathaliePosted on: 3-27-2024

The owner was very helpful and friendly! We rented a scooter directly from the hotel and when it had some difficulties we immediately got another! The rooms were spacious as they are actually little bungalows. The pool was clean and big enough to swim a little, although after a day of 36C it was more of a bathtub ? .

Bed was kinda hard, as everywhere in Cambodia. Power plugs were a little scarce and far away from the bed.

A small oasis in Kampot, quiet and very beautiful, very helpful owner, thank you!

    9AndrewPosted on: 3-1-2024

The host of the bungalows couldn't be nicer or more helpful and it was clear that his guests enjoying their stay was really important. We hired a moped from him for $5 a day which was super easy. He gave tips and recommendations for where to go. As others have said, it is a bit out of town but an easy ride in (school kicking out time was a bit hectic!) or we never had to wait long for a 'Grab' tuk tuk which was really cheap. This is more than made up for by the lovely setting, I would not have stayed anywhere else! Lots of birds around the gardens to enjoy. The pool is quite small and warm, but perfect to relax in after a hot day of exploring and there are plenty of loungers and sunshades to relax after. Breakfast is 'on demand' so don't be put off as we were if the dining area isn't set up in the morning, go on in and they will sort you out! It is a basic bread and eggs your way breakfast with a small plate of fruit, fruit juice drink and coffee for $5. We went out mostly and can't recommend the social enterprise Epic Arts Cafe enough, it's open 7am-6pm and everything we had on the 3 times we went there was excellet and supports children and young people with disabilities, good for the soul in every way. It is also a few minutes walk from here to the office we caught our bus to Vietnam from, so a good place to get your onward travels started if you're off early. Sunsets over the mountiains are lovely from bars/cafes on the river or the Kapla skybar, but it's such a shame there are so many bars that are not aimed for couples or women in Kampot. Otherwise so glad we chose here rather than Kep which is only an hours max moped drive to visit, which was enough for us.

Beds are hard, but that seems to be the SE Asia norm. The arrangement of the sockets and lightswitches is not great, but honestly, that's such a small thing.

Lovely swimming pool and gardens. Very quiet and peaceful. Good breakfast and excellent coffee. Room was fine, good ac, separate toilet which is unusual in Cambodia. Hot water. Nice helpful owner. All good, recommend.

Bed a bit hard, but they are all like that in Cambodia. A bit out of town but that means it’s quiet and it’s easy to get a Grab or hire a scooter from the owner.

Excellent value for money, clean comfortable bungalow accommodation. Lovely welcoming and friendly staff. Swimming pool was large size, much larger than pools I’ve used at larger and much more expensive hotels. Short Tuk Tuk ride to central Kampot. Great breakfast with fruits that is grown in their gardens.
