Welcomhotel by ITC Hotels, Bay Island, Port Blair

The staff were amazingly awesome, one of the best, attention to detail, nothing which was asked was missed out like transport, room service, Abay in resturant was very good.Room was ok, nice but not worth for the price point, even for Christmas season.

There are some exception was that reception the staff who checked me in informed that I did not have all three meals package and had to wait in the reception till it was sorted out later not great, another couple had the same issue as well during my check in processThe food was not great, though there was Full roast Turkey for Christmas, full fish fry for some odd reason was not great and Lunch and Dinner was almost same menu with minor changes, same desert.Breakfast was good though.

The location and the view from the dining area was one of the best in Port Blair.

It was quite expensive

The Property is on top of a hill amongst a lot of greenery with a good view of the water.Food is excellent both in breakfast also dinner.Staff is Courteous, very helpful!

Only con is that the rooms are little small.

Well located. Staff is helpful. The design is unique.

The food was awful and terribly overpriced. The hotel has only a buffet option while the inroom dining is deliberately made so expensive that most would prefer the buffet. For the money that was charged, the quantity and quality was abysmal. Please fix this ! The rooms are also fairly small and even though is supposed to fit 2 adults and 2 kids features a tiny bed. I never got a replacement or an extra cot despite asking for it multiple times

The property is very good, impeccably clean, good staff. I loved the rooms, though we did not get the sea view rooms which were as we were told, premium ones, at much higher prices. It’s located in a very nice central area while maintaining a very exclusive and private ambiance.

I liked most of the things, but the breakfast menu was a bit wanting, not exactly matching the quality of a five star facility. Same applies to the buffet menu for lunch or dinner. Also, during peak hours, it felt a bit short staffed as waiting for cleaning the tables was long. But the staffs were nice and tried their best to cater to the requirements of the guests.

Staff was not polite , and need more training to be more polite ..one person even start touching me in evening while instructing me some thing . Body touching is not acceptable in many cultures , I don’t how they come working in 5 star hostel. .Hotel pool was not clean Rooms privacy is little compromised as one can peep in each others office Bathroom plumbing is little old

I recently stayed at Welcomhotel Bay Island, and there were definitely some highlights that made the experience enjoyable. The location is unbeatable—right on the ocean, offering beautiful views from the rooms. The early check-in was a big help after a long journey, and the price point felt very reasonable for a beachfront property. Breakfast stood out as a major plus: fresh, flavorful, and well-curated with a mix of local and continental options. These aspects, along with the peaceful surroundings, gave the hotel a lot of potential as a comfortable stay in Port Blair.

The overall condition of the rooms and hotel was below expectations—it's clear that the property is in need of maintenance and an upgrade. The design and layout, particularly of the hotel and pool area, felt outdated and not very guest-friendly. The gym was very small and poorly equipped. Service from both the front desk and travel desk was inconsistent and lacked warmth. Additionally, the quality of food outside of breakfast was disappointing. With some attention to detail and investment in upkeep and training, the hotel could truly live up to its prime location.

Fantastic property at a fantastic location. Superb and quirky design and the location on the Andaman Sea is breathtaking.Comfortable and large rooms and bathrooms are very clean.Staff are attentive and hardworking.

Fantastic property at a fantastic location, but it isn't being maintained or run as it should. The Charles Correa designed hotel is now starting to look rundown and shabby due to lack of investment in upkeep. No complaints on cleanliness though.It's crazy that the hotel has a bar where you can have a beer, and a cafe directly below where you can have a meal, but you can't have a beer with your meal because you can't carry your meal up or your beer down. For a hotel where the cheapest room is over Rs. 15,000 per night that is unacceptable.Staff are attentive and hardworking but they need training in hospitality. Again I say this bearing in mind the price one pays for staying at this hotel.Welcomhotel by ITC needs to pay more attention to this jewel of a hotel which is suffering from management neglect.

Too many government restrictions- don’t drink in this area - don’t eat near the pool , bar only works 11am to 11 PM - couldn’t enjoy a proper holiday, because of it ..

Food was not good at all.

Food was horrible. Also, we were advertised a sea view room superior room but were allocated a room which only had coconut trees to look at (we didn't pay to look at coconut trees).

Wifi worked fine. Pool was clean. Our room was ready early.

Bedding was musty, room smelled dank, bathroom finishes were flimsy, shower didn’t drain properly. Amenities were okay. The restaurant staff were very slow to help and the food selection at the breakfast buffet was limited and not very good.

The restaurant staff were very helpful. Special mention to the head chef, Breakfast chef Joy, Sayan and Prathima. Great views from the restaurant, bar and room.

Very Expensive for a small very basic room. The balcony is so narrow a chair doesn’t fit.

Didn’t meet the standards expected from an ITC property Infrastructure and maintenance could be betterReal coffee in room would be greatly appreciated. They did manage to find a French press but no coffee… luckily a local shop had 1 pack of filter coffee. Staff are v pleasant but need training in efficiency. They bring coffee without a teaspoon, lay the table randomly etcPool is used by guests in their underwear ?

1. The rooms which were supposed to be ocean view were not fully viewing the ocean …the rooms 301 were not fully ocean facing and we were told to pay 2000 extra for the room as it was ocean facing 2. The gym room view was good …but the AC was pathetic …one cannot exercise at all in the room….what’s the point of having a good view without AC 3. There was no kids play area
