Pros +
- Location
- Excellent location in downtown close to beach, restaurants and downtown walking areas.Maintenance of facilities ciudad be improved for a verter guest experience
- Just the location
Cons -
- I could not rest well because the noise insulation is very bad. We could hear even the water running next room to us, they were loud and woke us up several times in the night. Bed and pillows are uncomfortable. Shower has old curtains dating back to previous hotel owners “Begoña Hotel”. The hotel needs a full renovation and proper sound insulation in rooms.
- It's an old property that isn't updated and everything inside feels old and dirty.
- - Cutlery wasn't clean; lack of "main" dishes like fried eggs and tortilla, which where available on the first breakfast but were absent all the following days.- Pillows where very uncomfortable.- Quite a bad sound isolation - I heard someone snoring in the neighbor room quite good, talking, walking in the room above in the midnight, window sound isolation also seemed rather poor, combined with the window looking to a street with traffic and a park with parties.- No ventilation in the room so closing the window I got a lack of fresh air, opening it I got much noise.- No refrigerator to keep some temporary food and drinks.

Location is very good. It's the center of the city, a lot of places like parks, beaches and others are available by foot. A small park with a food court and children playground in front of the hotel, shops around.Breakfast was rather satisfying.

The location was fine
The hotel needs to be renovated its 2025 and is no longer updated. No ventilation, no air conditioning
It’s an old hotel, although well preserved. Located in a convenient area in downtown Gijón, at walking distance from most attractions. Room and bathroom are spacious and the bed is ok. The problem is that other guests were noisy, talking loudly across the hallway late at night and early in the morning. Walls are thin and you’ll hear every noise from the room beside yours and they’ll sure hear everything you do too. A long night of sleep is not what you’ll expect if you stay in this hotel.
Great hotel right in the city center. I was a little worried because of some of the reviews, but they are underserved. the hotel has some classic charm to it, but it's really comfortable. the mattresses are very comfy, same thing the pillows, and the best is the staff: excellent people!
The location was as expected and the room was clean
Very dated, in need of refurbishment. Noise from neighbouring rooms. No tea and coffee facilities. Breakfast was very limited, food was not replenished - first up best fed!
Location. The room was ok in spite of the 80s furniture.
We were charged 16€ for breakfast; it was included in the booking and we insisted on it, but the waiter came after us and obliged us to pay. The receptionist was sure that it wasn't included either. They also offer parking: 17 € per night. In sum: we had to pay 33€ more.112€ in total for a mid-range hotel, expensive breakfast (coffee was bitter, and the variety range was under average) and unfriendly staff. Next time we will surely look for more expensive stays that ensure our breakfast and parking are included at least.
Very clean and great location
Too noisy during the night, we can here the tv through the wall
- good location
- you heard everything!!!! Like there wasn’t walls - too old fashioned - the toilet water was always running, we had to close the door - the WiFi was very bad
Large comfortable room....good bathroom
Reception helpful but not so friendly
All the facilities where very nice and clean, we request to clean our room and was perfect when we came back. Is a nice place to stay and compared with the price I paid was more than I expected. Also, the staff was very helpful all the time. Totally recomended!
Nothing to say.
The location is excellent, very central and close to everything. There are lots of restaurants and cafes around and is a 10 minutes walk to the bus station, beach and all the sights for tourists. It is a good value for the money!
There were available rooms even for the late booking
It is an old hotel located in the very centre. Noise from outside stops long after you fall to sleep. Everything inside the room is visibly old. The mattresses were not comfortable, the hair dryer was almost not working - there were wires visible under the broken isolation.Price/quality is horrible.
The hotel is very old school like out of an old movies. Keys are still real keys and the decor is authentic.
We arrived at 2pm but had to wait half an hour for the room to be ready. The shower mixer did not work so impossible to get a shower at the right temperature.
Good location-excellent room and underground parking. Good breakfast and friendly staff.
Clean linenShower was great room was quiet
Traditional old Spanish Hotel.Great location.Friendly staff and well kept rooms for their age.
Location. Hotel overall is very clean and well looked after. Value for money.
NOISY!!!!! VERY VERY NOISY!!!! During my stay guests would be constantly loud in the corridors outside throughout the ENTIRE night... one of these nights I couldn't get to sleep due to all the nuisance such as people exiting the lifts NON STOP and chatting/laughing loudly at 3, 4am without a single care in the world... Also the walls separating the rooms are paper thin, there was this man next door who couldn't stop coughing and we could just hear him all night, every night... to sum it up we were just BOMBARDED by NOISE coming from all directions, especially at night time!!!For all that, next time I'm in Gijon, I'm definitely going to find somewhere else to stay, honest..
