About
This hotel occupies a former mill located in Isabel la Católica Park, in the Asturian city of Gijón. It has a pretty pond, and San Lorenzo Beach and the Cimadevilla fishing district are a 10-minute walk away. The Parador de Gijón has bright, elegant interiors, including large windows with views of the sea. The Parador's restaurant serves characteristic Asturian cuisine, including the well-known Fabada stew and fresh local seafood and fish. Desserts include homemade rice pudding and frixuelos (cream-filled crepes). The Parador de Gijón hotel is well-located in the city for exploring the port area and the historical center. Gijón is an ideal base for exploring the lovely Asturian coastline, including nearby charming fishing towns.

Comfortable bed, Kaycee who works in bar was fabulous, outside bar under tree was fabulous
Layout of shower made it hard to use, ladies serving breakfast were too frenetic, car parking was a complete challenge
Very comfortable bed and linnenGreat half board
Outside of the city
Good location, onsite parking, nice outdoor bar area.
No in room fridge. AC struggled.
Loved staying in this Parador, a converted watermill. It's located on the edge of a beautiful park with an aviary, playground and flower gardens. It is an easy walk to the promenade along the beach and some good restaurants. The Austrias Folk Museum was also in walking distance. The rooms were spacious with views overlooking the park. There was free parking at the hotel.
The throw rugs in the room needed to be thoroughly cleaned or replaced. I was surprised to find them in such poor condition given that it's a 4-star hotel.
Good quality stay, pleasant breakfast, nicely located on a park and good parking. A walk to the city centre but a flat and pleasant stroll and it is in a nice area with the park to explore.
No tea or coffee making in the room seemed an oversight when other areas of comfort were well looked after.
Convenient to walk into town with good parking facilities.
It was pretty basic.
The building itself has a lot of character, and the restaurant is very traditional northern Spanish food. Location is just fab, very well communicated.Comfy bed and great thick, fluffy towels.Quietness feeling despite being in a very touristic area besides the football stadium.
I really missed a kettle in the room, it would have made a difference. There is no room service. Some details need an upgrade as the main decor vibe is traditional 80's, like the room's doors. They were quite thin and you could see the light and noises coming through.
1. Next to park (low)2. Bird watching from the window (low)3. Complementary beverage on arrival (low)
1. Fawlty Towers at breakfast time (medium)2. Noisy neighbours and thin walls (medium)3. Unfriendly welcome at the bar after check in (low)
This could be a lovely hotel and location!Whether we got the wrong day or not??? It was not good. Extremely overpriced, understaffed although staff were pleasant there should have been more??? Stayed in many paradors, something was not right on our stay.Evening meal was expensive and very average/to poor. At breakfast, many empty serving dishesWhat there was , poor quality and expensive price for a very mediocre experience
For a parador, it did not live up to expectation Extremely disappointing and am sorry have had to make so many negative remarks
Great rooms, comfortable bed, lovely hotel with a great location. Good breakfast
Didn't dislike anything.
Excellent service location and food and very clean Easy to park outside
It rained ! Not the fault of the hotel !!
Easy to get to from the motorway and close to the sea front for a bit of fresh air and exercise. Clean and comfortable with good food in the restaurant.
Restaurant opens for dinner at 20:30, which is late for Brits!
A beautiful Parador hotel with great facilities. Parking right outside was a bonus.
The check in was a little slow.
Location
Room was very dusty. No tea or coffee in the room.
The staff were very friendly. The location was perfect, being near the town and beach, but also the park. Breakfast was good. The hotel garden and bar were very relaxing and peaceful. The hotel is clean and tidy and comfortable. It has a traditional feel to it.
Initially our air conditioning was not working well, in unusually warm weather. However this was resolved.
The customer service was excellent and the communal lounge areas beautiful. They also provided very good gluten free options for breakfast.
Great hotel , friendly helpful staff , lovely food , lovely short stroll along the seafront to the old town
