The Green Hotel

The room was spacious and the staff paid excellent attention to helping me be comfortable. The hotel space is very beautiful.

It is on a major road, so there was a lot of traffic noise.

Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Despite the road noise, the hotel has a lovely atmosphere and has been very well brought back to life. There are lots of restaurants within walking distance, so it didn’t matter too much that the hotel is not in the city centre. It was equally interesting to discover the residential area.

This is a special hotel that has barely changed since I first visited more than twenty years ago. But that's precisely the charm: it has a timeless, understated elegance that's almost unmatched among hotels I personally have visited. The food is excellent and it's a very restful place to stay. If you like old-world delights, drop by.

It’s a heritage property and well maintained No AC or TV as they are eco friendly The property is beautiful to see and they have preserved the palace structure without making too many changes Cannot expect too much comfort and it’s very Basic stay suitable if you need to stay a night in Mysore But the lawns are maintained well and looks very beautiful

I never write reviews but this hotel was so run down - no water in the rooms, no hot water in showers , and no AC. At one point a stranger was trying to open my door during the day so I felt very unsafe.

The rooms were so pathetic and bedbugs was found Bathroom water leaking everywhere drainage smellTo noisy stuffy smell inside the rooms I would definitely not recommend to any of friends and family.

Old colonial building in a beautiful garden setting. Comfortable beds in the old building with large bathrooms. Lovely building to walk around. A good coffee and bakery shop. Breakfast is good.

Good location, snd a heritage property.

The hot water was always cold; the cold tap on the bathroom sink did not work.

The staff are hospitable and helpful. The property is charming and historical. It is a wonderful place to hang out. The common areas are atmospheric and the gardens are beautiful. The restaurant serves delicious food.

The building has sadly fallen into disrepair. The hotel rooms are damp and filled with mosquitos unfortunately. It is a real shame. It may be that some rooms are better than others.

The history, the bowls of flowers, the kindness and friendliness of the staff, the coffee bar, their pastries, their commitment to organic and sustainable practice. The beautiful flowers in the garden.

The Green Hotel is an oasis of tranquility in a busy city. The main palace house is beautiful and full of antiquated charm. We were lucky to be put in touch with a terrific tuk tuk driver who became a guide and transport for all things yoga and all things Mysore. His name is Shiva Shankar and the team at the Green Hotel can easily connect you with him.

Ambiance

Mold in my room next to my head that caused breathing difficulties, nothing for a person gluten free and vegetarian to eat for breakfast and rude staff in the mornings. No room cleaning for 5 days. The front desk staff are atrocious, uncommunicative and even someone drunk at the front desk in NYE saying there are no hotel staff after 6pm. A manger that was never around. And no one to ask for help. Once one of my favorite places in mysore

I love the location. It’s conveniently close as one drives in from Bangalore. The building itself is beautiful albeit old. As they say - old is gold. And the lawns in the evening are the cherry on top.

Beautiful building, a little frayed round the edges, but I was lucky enough to get a room in the main building and loved it. It was also a delight to sit out on the lawn at night to eat surrounded by fairy lights. Magical. The food was good as was the beer.

For me the big disadvantage was the distance from town. I also found it off putting that they couldn’t give me information about public buses. They were only interested in trying to persuade me to take a private car to Wayanad, which is not what I wanted.

The property is well maintained with a touch of history. The garden is well maintained.Malgudi is an amazing choice and their bakery is a great choice.Sustainability and leisure rightly managed

Lovely heritage building ,well preserved in an amazing garden setting .Ample parking space Room was large & airy ,with large windows & fans (I hate airconditioning !)Breakfast was good (could be better , service & quality of food also needs improvement)Draft beer served in restaurant Malgudi Days- restaurant in the main building had some great bakes & juices

-maintenance issues ,fan regulator needed replacement ,plumbing problems- hot water was just a trickle in both sink& bath area ,need bath mat ....-Road side noise till late night .-check in not professional, manager was not available when asked for.....-staff have been around for a long time, a bit lethargic, need more training
