    Pros +

    • Absolutely magical setting. An organgutan was on our roof the first day. Staff are wonderful and great food.
    • Beautiful property , incredible cabins very well kept
    • Well manicured property with beautiful trees and wooden pathways. Chalet style rooms with absolute privacy and comfortable settings. Distance to Sepilok OrangUtan sanctuary very close and Sun bear conservation next door.

    Cons -

    • There is a language barrier with waiters!
    • No WiFi in rooms, need to walk to restaurant to enable WiFi. Pricey and limited food options.
    • WiFi only works in the lodge/restaurant area, not the rooms. This is great for people who want to unplug but hard if you need signal for work or to manage email/plans.

Absolutely amazing location, beautiful property, and generally a helpful staff who all speak English. Dining options outside of the hotel are fairly limited and the prices reflect that. Breakfast is simple and standard, but again, a bit over priced. The beds are very comfy, the chalet rooms are large, the a/c works very well. The main lodge area is great for hanging out with a nice view of the jungle. It looks just like the pictures!

WiFi only works in the lodge/restaurant area, not the rooms. This is great for people who want to unplug but hard if you need signal for work or to manage email/plans.

Beautiful, great location, clean and comfortable room. Room and deck larger than expected. Hot water available.

    - some of the restaurant meals were comically small for price. no snack options outside of limited opening hours. - would be nice to have water bottle refill station instead of small plastic bottles

the location is perfect and basically next door to the orangutan rehabilitation center, the huts are pleasant and comfortable situated around a lake, the alternatives seem equally pricey so all in all it's not a bad deal if you care about a good location

the room had a musty quite fetid smell to it and spider webs all over, some of the staff was welcoming while to others we felt like a nuisance, the food really needs to improve to warrant anything close to the price charged for it

Gorgeous property with little chalets connected by walkways. It’s right next to the orangutan rescue center and sun bears. I woke up early and saw rhinoceros hornbills and an orangutan right in the hotel forest! Honestly was a more fun orangutan experience than the center! The chalets are comfortable and spacious and with excellent air conditioning. It is VERY hot in the afternoon but the mornings and evenings are lovely. And the restaurant was also delicious!

This was a tiny slice of heaven. Hammocks outside the villas and orangutans hanging in the trees to greet you on your way to the restaurant.

    10TrishPosted on: 6-18-2025

The accommodation was clean spacious and modern inside but culturally suitable on the exterior. You are right next to the Orangutan Sanctuary and some even came to visit us at the Lodge. It was a life changing experience. The grounds are beautiful and the noises are incredible. You really feel like you are staying in the jungle.

Excellent location close to the orangutan and sun bear rehabilitations centers. Meals were outstanding. Lodging was very comfortable and spacious with a wonderful ambiance.

We would have appreciated if there were more vegan options on the menu.

location location location. it's right next door to the Sun bears and the Orangutan Rehabilitation centres. Both of which are also excellent. Very close, walkable, to Rainforest Discovery Centre as well. Actually saw Orangutan from our bathroom.

Restaurant shuts maybe half an hour too soon at night and should check for dessert and drinks before shutting at 9pm. A minor blip that could be easily remedied. Problem with power and lights in one half of room, manageable though.

    9ClaudiaPosted on: 4-29-2025

The location is wonderful, we even saw an orangutan. Room is very clean and comfortable.

    8WesterwaelderPosted on: 4-19-2025

The lodge is just a short walk from the Orang Utan and Sun Bear sancturies making it very easy to visit them. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The restaurant offers a good choice of meals.

    10MichellePosted on: 4-18-2025

Amazing accommodation. Superb location for both wild Orangutan’s - we had a real treat! and The Sepilok Orangutan rehabilitation centre, which is on the doorstep, as is the Rain forest discovery centre.

    8JaanPosted on: 4-15-2025

Very nice setting, just a few minutes away from the Organgutan and Sun Bear sanctuaries. The room was big with good air conditioning.

No wifi in the room, uncomfortable beds, low quality bed sheets, ridiculously overpriced food and drinks

    10HelenPosted on: 4-3-2025

Our room was lovely and spacious, lots of room to unpack properly. The staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful, and the food was fab. Lovely views over the lake, and very well located for the Orangutan and Sunbear sactuaries which were both literally minutes away on foot so we were able to visit easily on different days. Lots of lovely butterflies and birds around and an overall feeling of being at one with nature.

    8JohnPosted on: 3-28-2025

Central to all the Sepilok animal sanctuary's. Orangatang, Sun bear just a short walk away. Probiscus monkeys 30 minutes by car, so go at feeding times and get your driver to wait for you as difficult getting a ride back. Rainforest discovery centre 1.5 klm away. Very quite and peaceful location great food and staff very friendly.

    Rooms a little dated

    8NitinPosted on: 3-25-2025

The place was booked to facilitate the visit to See the Orungatans. Saw them also got to visit the long nosed monkeys and tiger bears. This was in the midst of substantial rain but managed to cover all. The resort was good. Only suggestion was to have the rooms ckearly marked especially at night it was duffucult and got quite mixed up.Staff were good.

    8BrookesPosted on: 3-25-2025

The room was fantastic, the grounds beautiful and the location convenient. Greeting was friendly and check in process super fast.

I have some issue with the restaurant. For my taste the menu should have more local dishes, championing the best of Malay food. The actual food served was bland/ordinary. The restaurant staff need more training on providing efficient and personal service.

    9AndrewPosted on: 3-17-2025

The staff were very friendly and the hotel is in a very picturesque lakeside setting on the edge of the rainforest. The local attractions are a short walk away. The rooms are large, well equipped and characterful.

The food is a little on the expensive side.
