    • Nice room, good restaurant, good value
    • Location and staff
    • Plenty of options with buffet breakfast. Mostly European with a few local dishes. Only 2 fruits available and would liked to have seen more variety.

    Cons -

    • Little to close to the main mosque
    • Ac dripping water in the middle of the night. Woke up around 4am to switch room.
    • I should have asked for a front facing room. Out the back you are forced to listen to stray dogs crying all night. My fault for not asking.

The staff appeared helpful at first glance but was not at all. They had ample notice when I had to leave the property and ask for a refund yet they wouldn't approve a refund for 2 out of 4 nights. The manager wouldn't even speak to me directly. There was no reason they could not at least refund me 2 nights.

There was no customer service. The room was very run down and dirty.

Loved staying here. The room was quite big and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was good, and the staff were all great. We were about to walk to central market, bust station etc

Breakfast could have had more variety

Best hot shower we had while in Borneo. Comfy bed. Reception staff who went above and beyond to help us book a taxi to Gomantong Caves.

    Limited breakfast choice.

    6JasonPosted on: 8-7-2025

Large beds and breakfast was decent. Good value as was cheap.

Kind of funny old hotel from another era. Consequently bit old and run down. Could be cleaner although not terrible. Didn’t have hot water in the shower.

    Decent property, outdated but comfortable

Location is in the Center but the town is awful and there is nothing to do in Sandakan

    8ReikoPosted on: 5-4-2025

Good location to walk around the townNice breakfast

    No fridge in the room

Breakfast was nice and the restaurant also supplied a very budget friendly lunch buffet. I ate here almost exclusively because it was probably the best place in Sandakan City. Staff were wonderful. Couldn't fault them. The hotel is tired. It's seen better days but it's clean and comfortable.

Sandakan. I don't love it. The inner city is a tip. Smelly open sewers, slum housing and very very little in the way of things to do. Don't expect moderate to nice restaurants, bars etc. A very heavy muslim influence throughout the precinct (be prepared for loud speaker reminders of this throughout the day). I am perplexed as to what the Malaysian Govt is doing here because it looks like they've abandoned it. Don't come here. Stay outside of the city area.

Front staff was great. Room staff also. I didn’t visit restaurants or breakfast, so NA there. Just uphill from limited downtown. Not a place for extended stay, but a nice interim spot on way to or from a jungle cruise. Laundry was fast.

Spacious room, clean, comfortable bed, quiet. Fantastic breakfast. Highly recommend it.

Great central location. Kind, helpful staff. Breakfast was delicious and had plenty of options.

The check in and check out is a breeze...The room 515 is huge but a little dated. Time for a make over soon!?.Partial seaview. Sunrise and sunset are obscured by buildings and tree tops.Air conditioning is cold.King bed is comfortable.Water pressure in the bathroom is excellent. The bidet instead of water spray is a bonus. The staff is great.

The toilet paper holder is too far away from your toilet bowl. I stretched my right hand and I still couldn't reach the tip of the toilet roll!!.The dressings table chair is DEFINITELY broken!! Fortunately none of us had a fall from sitting on that!!
