Eco Hotel Black & White - Anuradhapura

Wonderful staff, they upgraded us so that we could have adjacent rooms. The rooms are big, comfortable, clean, quiet, and great for sleeping because of dark curtains. The garden is amazing. You can see peacocks roaming, and enjoy the lovely swimming pool. The restaurant serves some yummy food.

We loved the pool and it was nice swimming at night after our checking. Breakfast was good and delicious. Staff nice and helpful. The gardens look beautiful. It is a great place for families.

The room was ok and there was no hot water in the bathroom. A bit far from downtown.

The bathroom isn’t great, had lots of ants and smelt bad. The bedroom had a bulb missing at a low height (see photo) so dangerous for children who could electrocute themselves. The pool was filthy, very murky in the adults pool.This could be a really lovely place, but definitely need to pay more attention to the cleanliness and updating the bathrooms.

Travelling as a family with 3 kids (5 years, 3 years and 8 months) the hotel was lovely. The staff was very friendly, trying to help and giving us everything we needed. The hotel is just surround by nature. If you want to get to a supermarket or restaurant you need a tuktuk or taxi. The room was big enough and clean. Just the third night ants started to come in the room - so room service every second day would help. Breakfast and dinner were also good. More Sri Lankan taste would be great. Pools were clean and perfect to swim for the kids. All over good hotels to relax and discover Anuradhapura, if you have car or tuktukInternet just at reception and restaurant, not in the rooms or pool

We loved everything about this place. We were greeted on arrival by the family and were able to check in early. They upgraded us to one of their brand new rooms which was an amazing raised cabin, it had stunning views over the pool and you could watch the sun set. They have a restaurant on site which was handy, breakfast was superb. The grounds and gardens are bueatiful and well kept. The pool is massive and kept very clean. Wish we could of stayed longer.

The staff was extremely friendly and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The food that is served in the restaurant is delicious and the pool is beautiful and clean!

To be a bit more comfortable by the pool, it would be nice to have some cushions on the sun beds. Although the room was clean, the bathroom was a bit mouldy (probably had to do with the AC pipes that were leaking when the AC was on)

Staff were really friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for us as it was quiet but is a little bit out of the way. However, it is easy to get to everything. Great location for the Mihintale Rock which is worth a visit. On-site restaurant was perfect. There isn’t much around food wise so being able to get good local and western food was ideal.

The corner of our bathroom ceiling was cracked so dust kept falling onto counter and sink. It wasn’t a big problem though.

The pool is big and cool. The open, shady dining area is lovely during the day and fine in the evening too. The gardens are delightful and full of flowers. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. The secluded location, between Mihintale and Anuradhapura, is very convenient. Mihintale is a relatively undiscovered gem. Our driver was happy with his accommodation. Good WiFi.

The lighting in the room could be better. Bedside lamps would add to the ambiance.

The place isn’t well maintained as they visibly didn’t renovate on time. The pool area is not comfortable and very rundown. Staff took all our bags while we told them to leave it near us, since our valuables were in there and we didn’t want them to be taken to the room before we could go too. Common knowledge to ask if it’s oke to take the bags, since we need stuff like passports and money to check in.. very annoying to have to tell the guy 7 times to leave it there and he still grabs it.. made me very annoyed and they left me no choice then to grab it back from them. Which caused a bit of unsettlement for them since I’m twice the size of these guys and much louder.. but it’s called respect to listen to your guests if they ask to leave it there.

Great food and sweet staff. They were really friendly and cooked amazing. The rice and curry was delicious! Also big pool!

The room was dark and not that clean. We have seen insects and the airco was really noisy. There is no shade in the pool area. If you want to go to a restaurant, there is nothing within walking distance.

The staff was absolutely amazing. Alwas there to help. They even prepared us a breakfast-box before we left at 5am for a safari.Food was very good (we had dinner there twice).Nice pool where the locals are welcome to use too.

Our room had no window and was therefore very dark. In the pool area there are brocken parts which could be dangerous for kids. There was no room cleaning. Trash should not be kept in the room because of ants.Building works are going on at the moment. It is a nice basic lodge with amazing stuff and great food. But don‘t expect 4* stars as it is shown on Booking.

The garden is very nice and the grass very well trimmed, so when you arrive the first impact is nice. When it comes to details then you'll see that the building is not so well looked after.. dinner was OK, nothing specialThe room we had near the pool was big and quite nicely furbished.

The room was not very clean: dust a bit everywhere, bathroom very used and not clean (shower glass full of limescale, tiles not clean), also the cups for tea had some dust/washing gel leftover. It's OK for one night, no more than that.

Very friendly staff, super location, outdoor with nice pool. Food was very good too.

The staff is incredibly kind and welcoming. The hotel is nice and cozy, green grass, nice trees and a big pool make it the perfect place to relax. Rooms are big and spacious.

The location is amazing but quite far from Anuradhapura and mihintale. You’ll have to rent a scooter or move with taxis.
