Villa de Roshe

We had a fantastic two-night stay at Villa de Roshe. Chaminda and his family are wonderful caretakers of this beautiful property, with wonderful views of the town below. The rooms were clean and spacious and even the views from the bathrooms were spectacular! The breakfast served was delicious and common areas (both indoors and outdoors) spacious and comfortable. It's a long walk up from town but easily accessible by tuk tuk or car.

Really enjoyed the view and historic property. Very affordable compared to most villas and hotels in the area. The breakfast was really good (highly recommend the Sri Lankan breakfast with curries) and the host was extremely helpful.

The location is fantastic. When you reach the first time, it will seem a bit far above however, the second time you will feel its manageable. Its a small road to the top. However, the view from the rooms is breath-taking. Chaminda manges the villa beautifully well and his wife cooks amazing meals. Do try their breakfast.

Wifi could be better but then Dialog sim works just fine with 5G.

We loved this place because it wasn’t just the typical hotel , Villa De Roshe has such a cozy and charming atmosphere, never have I had a more pleasant staff. Chaminda along with his wife was so polite and helpful and kind, going above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Thanks Mr.Chaminda and the wife for the wonderful care given to us. Forever repeat customers!

the bumpy road lead to the hotel

The room is even nicer than it looks in the photo’s. We had an amazing stay here and we are especially happy with the service from Caminda who managed the hotel. He made sure we were taken care of, had breakfast on our schedule and helped us with our day plans. Such a warm welcome!

Our room was beautiful. The room itself and the bathroom were very large and the balcony views were beautiful. Chaminda was so attentive and friendly, and made us feel at home. He gave us great recommendations of what to do in town and was very helpful overall.

Although the accommodation is close to town, the location was quite tricky for tuk tuks to get to. However, the view was exceptional and Chaminda organised our tuk tuks for our stay so it was never an issue to get a ride into town or back to the accomodation. You can walk into town but it is quite steep and the roads are very uneven.

The people were very friendly and gave their best so thank you for that.

The house needs renovating, it wasn't cozy but rather cold. You need an adapter for charging and only one socket worked. The breakfast was not the best. Had to ask for toilet paper because there was not any when we arrived. The road leading to the property was very steep and in bad condition, however this is not the fault of the hotel.

Friendly host who welcomed us warmly upon arrival with a delicious cup of tea and gave us some helpful advice for exploring Nuwara Eliya.Room is very classy, modern and spacious.Incredible views from the room.Short tuk tuk ride to Nuwara Eliya town.Good value for money.

Some things weren't working in the room. Couldn't get the TV working, bidet didn't function and main light wouldn't turn on. Warm water runs out after a while of showering. Needs a break to produce warm water again.Was surprised that it can be a bit noisy at night. Probably not the most noise proof room as it has a thin roof and the balcony doors don't keep too much sound out either. Didn't sleep the best but maybe that was just an anomaly.

One of the nicest accommodations in Sri Lanka. Clean and spacious rooms with a large bathroom. I must highly appreciate the excellent communication with the host. He was very helpful throughout our stay, extremely polite, and assisted us in planning our itinerary. He also arranged reliable transportation around the area. From the very first meeting, we felt at home and truly welcomed.The city and its surroundings offer plenty of things to explore. If you’re looking for a pleasant stay in Nuwara Eliya, you shouldn’t miss this place!

Chiminda was a brilliant host! He couldn't do enough for us even producing a cake for my wife's birthday!We would recommend this place to stay in Nuwara Eliya.

A little difficult to find.

Very good Breakfast. View is best. The property manager was very helpful.

The villa is located on amidst the hills so the views are spectacular! The family running the place is lovely and very helpful. We also loved Sri Lankan breakfast served at a requested time :)

It's a minor thing but there's inly one table to sit outside, so if it's occupied, other guests need to sit inside for breakfast.

The staff, the breakfast and dinner, the room and the location were superb. Excellent value for money and very close to the town centre.

Some garden loungers would have been nice but no real problem.

Great view and had a good breakfast. Calm environment and also Staff is really good. Can be recommend for anyone. ✅

Lovely room in a lovely house, comfortable bed, staff excellent, good location.

We liked the look of the villa and the view (our room opened up to a waterfall). The bedroom was comfortable with a massive bathroom and hot water was very easy to access. The breakfast was really good and beautifully presented.

Payment needed to be cash, thank goodness I had the cash on hand. It would be good to notify our have credit card or bank transfer facilities.

Good cozy place to stay. They only have 3 rooms so good service to all their guests. Its like a homestay. The staff was good & took care of everything. Breakfast was a 5/10 tbh, but at this price I think its okay.

- Minor maintenance required- The bed made crackling sound

The accomodation was really beautiful, the location was not so close to center but with tuc-tuc there is no problem to move around. The owner suggested a really cool place for dinner which was the best dining experience in Sri Lanka we had.
