Lake Canopy Alleppey

Lake Canopy provided a sanctuary towards the end of our three week adventure through India. We wish we spent more time here soaking in the surrounding areas. There was so much to do within the resort that was enjoyed by us and our children. The staff were incredibly friendly, accomodating and approachable. The rooms were spacious, the facilities were impeccable and beds comfy!

Kind staff. Nice rooms. Awesome location. The swimming pool is stunning, with a direct view to the lake and a very decent size. Very calm. Nice place to wind down.

They didn't serve alcoholic beverages due to lack of permit.

Don't think twice. The hospitality, food, location , rooms and overall the resort is just fantastic. Magical experience. Courteous staff. Maintenance is good. Rooms are awesome.

I think we came during the off peak season so it was a little quiet. We wanted to do a day boat ride and stay at a hotel instead of an overnight on the boat, so we chose Lake Canopy. Overall good service. Complimentary breakfast and tea service (love the tea btw). We ordered quite a bit of food, while we weren't impressed with the fish (meen pollicahdu) the other food tasted great, especially the beef fry and prawn fry and chicken.

You can see that the overall equipment needed maintenance, like in the gym, the paddle boat etc. I think its off peak so maybe not much booking to warrant it. Overall the location is nice, overlooking the sea. The pool was from 7-7 and at first we wondered why but at night though, you can see alot of beetles at the balcony and by morning they are dead or gone.

The amenities and facilities were bad and very expensive . Food was not tasty at all. Aircon didn’t work in the restaurant and in the games room. They are trying to cost cut I think. Lots of crows, couldn’t use the pool as they were cleaning the filters during pool hours. Staff kept apologizing but sorry doesn’t make your stay better.

The ambiance, clean and spacious room, dinner were all splendid.

Both quality and quantity of food for the rate charged.Dependence on resort for cab booking, charges for which are quite high.

The property is stunning and very well maintained. The staff were very kind and catered to whatever we needed. The rooms are very clean and comfortable with amazing views if you book the lakeside view.

The food service was a little slow and we did not know there is no alcohol served on the property until we arrived. Not a big deal as we don’t drink often - but would have been good to know ahead of time.

The wifi was a bit weak

The lake view room was brilliant with morning sunrise view of the lake. The room was pretty comfortable and food was good as well. The price is a bit on the expensive side considering the amenities. Kettle in our room was not working but it was replaced promptly. Our hand shower was also leaking but that was also attended to by the staff. So, the staff is very attentive and well trained. But for this price, the room could have better amenities.
