Novotel Wollongong Northbeach

The view, proximity to the beach, pool, overall very good.

the receptionist was lovely. the bar area looked nice but we didn't use it.

the room was tired and is not worth the money - I would pay less in Sydney for a much better standard. very disappointed. I booked an ocean view, but wasn't as expected. the carpet was wet on entry and it smelt.

Location. The facilities were great.

Unfortunately there were a lot of hoons making a lot of noise during the night with their cars. Obviously not Novotel’s fault and nothing they could do about it.

The location was lovely and the facilities were very good. I took two senior ladies and requested to be close together so I could look after them. At first were were offered rooms quite far apart. One of the ladies is 92 and was quite concerned at being so far away from my mother and I. The staff was able to offer a room closer to us but still not close enough. The first night she had someone knock on her door at 1.30 am by a drunk man who had the wrong room which frightened her. Also she was looking forward to going to sleep with the sound of the waves and to smell the sea air but she could not open her window so that was disappointing for her. She was in room 615. Overall however we enjoyed our time. The beds were very comfortable and the food was good. There was a little hick up with a cleaning issue but in the end that was sorted.

The beds were comfortable, the food was good but not a great deal of choice. The facilities were very good and the view from the balcony was beautiful and relaxing.

The location was great - just inside Wollongong, near the beach and close to the town. Our room was an Ocean Front Suite so was very spacious with a spectacular view. The breakfast had a great selection - ans the pancake machine was very popular. It was good to have a pool as an alternative for the beach for small children.

We were travelling with my elderly mother, who needed an accessible room - but her room was on a different floor. That was OK but it was also a very long walk from the lift, which didn’t make any sense. Ideally the accessible rooms should be closer to the lift. The beach near the hotel was covered in big clumps of seaweed and had a lot of small stones - reef shoes recommended to help with this or choose a different beach. The pool is nice but quite small so be prepared to share it with others. Our room balcony (Ocean Front Suite) was great but with a very low barrier to the room next door. This meant they we felt we were being watched the whole time - no privacy. Also we were right next to the road, which was noisy at night with locals who felt the urge to drive past with no mufflers and making screechy sounds with their tyres.

Bed need replacing.feels like sunken in middle area.we pay 1K per night too dear nit even free brekafast.

Bedroom comfortable with great view; the lounge/bar area is very pleasant; location is the very best!

A few treats in bedroom would uplift the place; most staff were very helpful except the guy in the bar who insisted we collect our own drinks at bar- a little courtesy and table service would uplift the place; the breakfast had plent of choice but the bacon, tomates and mushrooms were very dried up

Great location, clean spacious room, friendly helpful staff.

Musty odour in room on entry. Car parking price high and not expected. View from room was across a flat artificial grass roof.

Some fixtures and fittings are getting a little tired ie: hallway carpets stained

Location was fantastic if staying in room with beach view.

The 2nd room i booked had city view and was spoilt by boy racers screaming their car tyres outside for 1.5 hours 10pm to 11.30pm

The pool was a little overcrowded and under-filtered but that could be expected on a hot weekend.

Location is fantastic, the rooms and beds are very comfortable, and the staff friendly and efficient.

The decor is a little tired, but clean and usable.

The staff were welcoming and helpful service. The cleanliness of the room , bed very comfortable , wrap around balcony great views of sea and beautiful surroundings , breakfast was very filling and delicious & dining for dinner as well . Close to beach across the road.
