Lovely room and staff
A bit expensive but would stay there again
We were going to the Blue Mountains Ukulele Festival and in terms of location, the hotel was great. The staff were fine and the internal facilities were fine for cooking your own food. The TV in the lounge was not great.
The room they gave us was frankly disgraceful. It was totally internal, no truly outside windows, just one on to a corridor. We understood it was a 'small double room' but did not expect all the space to be taken up with a double bed and two single beds. Shower and toilet was down the corridor. They told us that they had no other rooms available though we had booked the room many months before. We deserved a significant discount or rebate. I did take pictures of the room and the internal window but don't seem to have them anymore. The festival filled the town making moving very difficult and so we had to stay. However I would like at least a 50% refund from Booking.com, this room was not much cheaper than all the other rooms which are reasonably acceptable; we have stayed their before. I like the venue if you are given an outside room with an external window but this room was seriously terrible, I suspect they used it normally as a dormitory room.
Convent location and the welcoming people were great
Kitchen was a bit cramped and untidy but not the end of the world.
It has a great location in the middle of Katoomba.
This was the second time we have stayed there but this time we were made to feel very uncomfortable.
Very poor
Kitchen facilities very poor untidy / beds and bedding very minimal/ I had to request a towel otherwise none provided I had to relocate to another room because management booked me into the wrong room, entered my room on second day and someone else was in there,so my personal space and belongings were exposed to a total stranger very off putting
Location and parking was good for shops and blue mtns.
The lock on the bedroom window (room9) did not lock, this meant that anyone walking on the porch could just open and take anything they wanted. Due to this we left all valuables in the car as it wasn't a secured room.Unfortunately the hostel/lodge is very dated. Only one bath/shower for the entire floor, which wasn't very clean at the time of use, razors, old soap, toothpick/floss - no bins in the bathroom( actual toilet was however kept clean). The kitchen is very disorganised, the lodge needs to have a clear out and then do it weekly from then on.We booked a twin room and was put in a queen/single room. The matress on the single was absolutely horrendous, having stayed in hostels for the last 11 months this is by far the worst matress by miles and would unfortunately put me off staying again. The room is very cold. The heater that was provided does not heat the room up. There's a lack of plug sockets, one being precariously above the person sleeping in the queen room. The linen was also dirty - only slept with the white sheet due to suspecting the other linen I.e duvet is not washed regularly. The lodge/hostel is not as welcoming as it could be.
The accommodation was comfortable, with friendly staff. Very laid-back, with several different common areas. The distance from the city centre is really great - a very short walk, but far enough that the noise doesn’t reach the hostel. It’s also about half an hour walk to loads of beautiful hikes.
The place is quite run-down and the fridges full of food that has been left behind by other travellers. I had to wait for ages for check-in, since no one would answer the phone.
Clean, simple, a lot of amenities, a little dated but still charming space. Overall solid spot
Inconvenient shared bathroom situation. No sinks right next to toilets. you have to go into a shower room with a sink or use your rooms sink to wash your hands. Locking doors is awkward, requiring you to always lock the door from the inside.
A way to make money off people
Other guest and the owner told.my brother to have a shower because he smelt. Just rude
It was in a good location and the staff were friendly.
I went to have a shower at 7am with the temperature about 4 degrees and .... NO HOT WATER!!! i didn't have time to talk to anyone there as I had to get to work but I emailed a week ago and asked for an explanation and to let them know that I am not happy paying $120 to not even be able to have a hot shower but no one has replied.
Close to the shops, bed was comfortable and warm. Good price.
Some guests were talking loud and watching TV through the night and could be heard.
Location good though hard to find at night
Outdated-Old quilts and curtains. Bathrooms not recently cleaned. No soap or dispenser in bathroom. Kitchen had over used washers, scrubbers and tea towel.
Great location in centre of town and train station. And clean tidy room
We arrived and never met the owner or hosts. greeted by and intercom and key in envelope and shown to our room my a guest. As two female travellers we didn’t feel immediately safe after only encountering older men who didn’t speak to us. The aside form the room other facilities where awful. Shower drain was blocked and flooded the bathroom and kitchen was appalling with dirty dishes and sponges.
Good location but the premises could do with some refurbishments to warrant the price charged.
Have stayed here a few times before in other rooms since 2007 but the place needs some money spent on it and a little attention to details to uplift the overall shabbiness e.g.. the bedding appear to have the same doona covers for the last few decades.
Book another place unless you like the Twin Peak-vibes
it's a budget accommodation for homeless people (one of them was quite paranoid and wanted to know our room number!) strange vibes, not relaxing for tourists on a long trip far from home! The kitchen was very dirty and the fridge was stuffed with supermarket bags
It was convenient to the Main Street
Advertised as including linen and towels BUT told we would have to pay if asked for them again as not normally included. Other clients were disruptive.
The fireplaces and views amazing and staff were great. Kitchen was a shamble
The kitchen however was in shambles
