Branxton House Motel

The person in the office was lovely, very friendly and helpful.

The rooms are extremely old, full of mosquitos, needs a big upgrade. Needs new towels, could do with bedside lamps. Rude and offensive writing scratched into paint on the bathroom window. Spiderwebs all over the bathroom. No water pressure. Room was really smelly and musty.

The location was convenient and the room was clean with all the basic essentials.

Good , quiet location off the old New England Highway and near the Hunter Expressway so easy access from Sydney for us. We were there for a family gathering at Lochinvar, just down the road.

Clean, quiet, tidy room and Sam the owner was great to deal with.

Nothing positive at all from this experience.

Booking was made on 3 March 2022. The motel was contacted on 30 September where the booking was confirmed and an early arrival approved for the arrival the next day as we were attending a wedding. The staff member confirmed when asked that taxi service is good from their location. Upon arrival we were informed we had no booking. Wife showed the rude male receptionist the booking. and started she had confirmed the booking the day before. He showed a printed version and said booking.com. cancelled the booking. Why was the booking confirmed by the hotel the previous day? The male receptionist was more focused on showing the current rate today is $220.00 and not the discounted rate by booking.com. Trying to explain the price was a set price for that booking relative to the contract price set between the hotel and booking.com he again focused on the rate $220.00 bring what the rate should be. When I questioned in a normal voice. The receptionist had the tenacity to say I was threatening, as all was doing was showing him the booking confirmation and at no time did we cancel and that they confirmed the booking the day before staying there. He kept repeating the price should have $220.00. Unfortunately we had the get changed into Wedding suits on the side of the road. I am of the opinion our booking was cancelled so the hotel could get the current rate. Then when you look on booking.com there next availability rate for January 2023 is $165.00. Warning, I wouldn’t book this period as I wouldn’t be confident you booking would be honoured if their rate is higher as with our case. Then to find the accommodation is all booked out in the Hunter Valley.

Clean Quiet Friendly

My partner and I needed a room to crash in after attending a birthday party close by. The room was perfect for that with regard to location and availability. A nice hot strong shower was welcomed after a big night out

Great location for easy access to the Hunter Valley activities. Just 5 minutes to Huntlee, with the great little shopping centre and the Huntlee Tavern. The motel is also just a short walk to the Royal Federal Hotel. The room was very comfortable, with a comfy bed, reverse cycle aircon, tea/coffee facilities. The room was very clean and the bathroom looked like it was brand new and very clean. Parking available on the property.

There was nothing we did not like.

Clean, comfortable, friendly staff, allowed us to check in earlier as we were headed to a wedding.

Would have been great to have a pool
