Pros +
- Love staying at Chateau Elan, great property, fantastic golf course, amenities wonderful
- A beautiful Property really friendly staff the first receptionist we met was so helpful a lovely view from the room very good Facilities we loved our stay an amazing time. Would definitely recommend this for anybody visiting the Hunter Valley.
- Large comfortable room with a lovely view of the golf course. Only stayed one night for a wedding (at another venue)so can’t comment on restaurants or other facilities.
Cons -
- Our bathroom, the shower area, was not clean, mould on the shower floor, walls not cleaned
- We had never stayed in the villas before and were extremely disappointed. When we walked up the steps there was rubbish strewn along the stairway to our front door, we checked a couple hours later and it was still there. There was absolute zero effort in this villa, not one ornament and not one picture on the walls. It was like a concrete bunker. The towel rack in the bathroom was broke and hanging and there was no floor length mirror so you could check your outfit before going out. It’s the little things and there was nothing. No personal touches at all. I wished I’d read the reviews about the studio villas before I booked, hopefully this helps the next guests to think twice before they book. Very pricey for what we got, we should have stayed in a roadside motel they are 100% better
- There was no hot water in the shower in the morning. There was no milk for a cup of tea.

I love the location , we’ve stayed there before in the main rooms. The view is amazing of the gold course and kangaroos.

Room and breakfast were fantastic
There was no hot water in the shower in the morning. There was no milk for a cup of tea.
We booked a room away from the main complex and overlooking the golf course. The room was huge by hotel/motel standards and in fact bigger than some bed sit home units in big cities these days. Overlooked the golf course which was great because very early in the morning there are often many kangaroos enjoying the grass before the golfers arrived. A little way out of Pokolbin but that proved to be not a problem as just a short trip by car to everywhere we needed to go. Great value for us, and relatively quiet as we were staying early in the week, with the trade-off that some things were closed. Pool was great in the very hot weather we experienced.
Limited bar and restaurant hours outside weekends, apparently.
It was luxurious and super clean
The bed was way too soft, woke up with a sore back
The room was good, spacious, and private.
The bed had bugs on it, my wife and I were bitten and it’s been itchy
Beautiful place
Could not watch Netflix, the connection was horrible. I asked once to fix it and it worked for 10 minutes and it stopped working again
The room was comfortable and nice outlook over the golf course.
The pool appears to be open to all the surrounding houses and townhouses not just guests in the resort. It was an extremely hot weekend and the pool was overcrowded and it was not a fun place to be.
Lovely property we got to play tennis
The local kids in the pool were rude and noisy, we were in and out in 2 mins, quiet disappointed
Plenty of space and quiet
A bit of mould in bathroom
Everything from the location to the facilities cleanliness staff
Nothing not to like
Staff were very friendly and the Buffet breakfast was amazing, Close to everything you need
The villa room was very private. You could have as much or as little interaction with reception and common areas as you please. The room was clean and comfortable. Our villa opened on to the greens where kangaroos lounged. It was close to many restaurants and wineries.
Small gym. Hard to get a restaurant booking at the main restaurant.
A very comfortable stay and helpful staff.
The 2x EV charging stations are very slow. Also advised not to keep the vehicle on charge overnight so other guests can charge.Luckily my vehicle had enough charge to do the return trip, but visitors from Sydney might need a top up on their return.
Staff service amazing, great size rooms, great food at restaurant, lovely location, quiet and relaxing.
Limited room service
It’s was such a beautiful resort full of greenery and surrounded by nature , great place to relax and celebrate our anniversary , room was amazing with plenty of space and a lovely jacuzzi, the bed was also super comfortable, the breakfast food in the hotel was delicious with a lot of variety. We also spotted kangaroos on the property of the resort which were lovely to see!
Had all the facilities, gym, pool, golf course, eateries limited. Friendly staff
It needs a refresh, cleanish but dated
Good not great.
Pillows were terrible. Bedding wasn’t tucked under mattress so it moved around all night. Shower head needed replacing or at least a bloody good clean. Connecting phone to the tv wasn’t good at all, kept cutting in n out.The toilet kept running after flushing. And can someone please put some foam or sponge behind the signs attached to the pool gates! Hearing them slam and vibrate all afternoon got tired real quick. Its all the little things that make a stay more enjoyable.Attention to detail is a little lacking.I’m sure the golf is 5 stars while I feel the accommodation is not.Thankyou
