The Astor Hotel Motel

We selected the room from photos which the website showed. There was no mention that the wind blows through the door jams, the bathroom windows do not close. What we experienced was a room you would find way out bush thousands of klms from anything.Was it clean-yes. Was it comfortable- depends on you comfort zone.Apparently it is due for renovations and once you are in the room you could upgrade if you didn’t like the room at extra cost. We will never go there again

Noise, facilities, false advertising… and bloody cold with wind blowing in.BUT YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR

Bunch of drunks in other rooms made sleep difficult Room small and fairly old but clean

The room was renovated, clean, presented well. Bed comfy.

Shower area could do with a renovation.And the noise outside in the car park seemed like a meeting area for the people from the hotel.

Checking in wasn’t friendly. Curtains didn’t close properly.

Clean. Easy assess. Hot showers.

Parking was an issue. No light in bathroom when using shower due to curtain.

Had a function at the hotel was nice and quiet.

Nice and close to centre of town. Walking distance. Nice pub part of property. Room was clean, bed comfortable.

We had a room upstairs. No lifts. Small bathroom. Lots of light from Woolies next door, but shutters provided to help that.

Great accomodation near pub, easy walking distance to shops, lovely and clean

Overall great stay.

Parking. You had cars that were pub visitors and taking up all the car spaces and no room for parking when staying in a room.

The beds were uncomfortable & itchy. When we used the shower we either had boiling water or freezing cold. The pressure was horrible. When using the shower, the toilet floor flooded because there is no edge to stop the water. The air conditioning made our room smell like it was burning

The room was spacious

There was 1 small TV in the whole place and it wasn't even a smart TV

The plaster was coming away from the walls exposing the brickwork underneath. The handbasin was not in the bathroom, but in the main room.

The room was much smaller than the photos in the ads, very dated , the broken and missing drawer in the hand basin unit as well as the top with damaged chipboard filler next to the basin, along with the black mould around the light fitting above the basin made for a bad feeling about the room ,. There were no reading, bedside lamps , the only light in the room was a central utility light very bright and you had to get out of bed to turn it off at the front door.the light over the hand basin which was in the room was an old flour tube that also requires you to get out of bed to turn it off. There was no towel rails in the tiny shower room, they had been broken off, ,no tissues ,, and no parking, not surprising since it is a hotel, we booked ahead on the day,,on the understanding that parking was provided,a couple of hours later we received an email warning us that there may not be parking on the property but that there is parking on the street, fortunately for us a single space was vacated and we did finally squeezed in between two big tradie rigs with difficulty, we took photos of all issues except the parking.In all we felt we were misled with the property.
