Hotel Jal City Aomori

Very clean, good service for receiving and sending luggage to the new hotel, not too far from the station. Rich break fast buffet.

Limited parking, they have affiliated parking nearby which can be costly if you don't validate your ticket. Not a fault of the hotel given the design and location

The reception staff was very helpful and had good a good translation device. Good location.

The breakfast room was too small around the breakfast bar and the host wasn’t particularly friendly. The food was marginal.The shower in the tub spilled all over the floor probably because the positioning of the head was not adjustable.

Great value, decent bathroom (and a good set of bathroom toiletries etc provided), and great location.

The room was very small but they'd crammed a chair and table in. So one side of the bed was against a wall and the other was not accessible because of the chair and table! We had to move the chair and table to right by the room door which isn't great from a fire safety point of view.

Fantastic breakfast! Excellent location. Easy to walk to food, shopping, museums, shrine, park, beach. Spacious room with a good layout. Bedding was clean. The staff uniforms and design of the hotel gave everything an interesting vintage formal atmosphere. Good water pressure and heat in shower. Our nonsmoking room was comfortable and had no odor.

Bathroom had a little darker staining on white ceiling and dark debris on telephone cord and faucet. Tobacco smoke odor in the elevator and lobby.

Good service, room facilities, and location. The hotel is downtown and close to the Aomori station.

The laundry room can have a coin exchange machine. It would be better if it showed the “status” of its use on TV.

Breakfast included local foods and local specialties.

The bed was a bit uncomfortable for us. May be time to update the mattresses.

Conveniently located, 10 min walk to JR Aomori Station, staff friendly and helpful but limited English, we used Google Translate to communicate, room had good quality amenities such as toothbrush, hairbrush, razor but no lotion. Fridge and kettle provided. Check in is strictly at 2pm.

Check in was strictly at 2pm. There was no allowance for earlier check in, even though I requested it 2 months prior to arrival. I travelled for 48 hrs from South Africa and reached the hotel at 10h00. I had asked via email for an earlier check in and was willing to pay the extra cost as well.

The room, breakfast & location were excellent. The staff who were initially unhelpful with my booking which they said was not found finally sorted the problem out after insisting that they contact booking.com.

We had problem checking in as the JAL City Hotel staff said that they have no record of the booking and that I should sort this out despite me showing my confirmation & no. from booking.comm. The staff finally sort it out.

Very good breakfast, wide varieties and fresh! The hotel serves mixed sushi rice. Location is fantastic, close to many restaurants and shopping centre.

The interior of the room need updating. It is a little bit dated.
