    • Perfect hotel for our trip to Aomori. It’s pretty close to the station and most major things to see and do in Aomori are reachable by foot from the hotel as well.As with most (if not all?) Dormy Inn’s, there’s an onsen with multiple baths (indoor, outdoor, hot, cold) and this hotel also had free massage chairs. The late night noodles are also great and there’s Aomori apple juice on tap in the afternoon! The amount of little ‘extras’ combined with the quality of all the facilities you get at Dormy Inn is what makes it my favourite hotel chain!
    • This place was amazing. The breakfast was excellent and very fresh, and the nightly complimentary ramen was a fantastic bonus. The rooftop onsen was truly spectacular — soaking outdoors while it was snowing at night was an unforgettable experience. The rooms were slightly larger than a typical Japanese hotel room, and the shower and bath were separated, which was very convenient. The amenities were outstanding and covered everything you could possibly need.
    • Beautiful onsen, nice sized clean rooms. Very pretty hotel with other nice amenities.

    Cons -

    • There was nothing significant to dislike — the stay exceeded expectations.
    • The staff was not nice or helpful. Asking for help with anything they seemed annoyed and unwilling to help us.
    • The check-in man spoke Japanese very fast and without eye contact. I speak some Japanese but he seemed annoyed when I couldn't understand him and he had to repeat in english. I don't expect them to speak english at all! But talking slowly and clearly in Japanese would be great. They did all seem to speak excellent English too for those that don't speak Japanese.

The open-air onsen at the hotel was great during winter time! They provided many refreshments after using the hot spring as well!

    9KatherinePosted on: 1-24-2026

The view of the ocean and the parking available were the two best experiences. The onsen was also wonderful.

Dormy Inn is exactly as advertised. Not a luxury experience, but an extremely efficient and well-run hotel with a few unique features. The baths were clean with good natural hot spring water, and there were free snacks available outside the baths in a common area, which seemed to promote a certain amount of socializing, especially among the many Chinese-speaking guests.

Overall I'd say the hotel hits exactly where it is aiming in the marketplace, so I have no complaints. I didn't feel it went above and beyond expectations, hence 4/5 stars.

    Location and facilities. Good value

    Room was a bit small

Staff very friendly. Onsen was great

Cannot use their reward card program if you book with bookings.com and still pay at the hotel. This the only hotel that would not accept credit for staying with them I even spoke with the supervisor and he said it was their policy only if you book directly with them. I even paid the hotel when checking in. I explained to them I stayed many times at various locations in Japan and NOW canceled my stay in Nagoya next week because of their policies Ana, Hilton, Marriott and other major hotel companies accepted rewards card for staying at their hotels even if you do not book directly with them. Sorry Dormy Inn , you lost all of our future business.

I love Dormy inn hot spring hotels. They always surprise me with the value for money in terms of facilities. You get access to their hot spring public baths (dont forget, you pay a hot springs tax as well though), there are small icecreams available (free) after your bath. There are massage chairs free to use (though getting into them can be a long wait).and the midnight snack noodles are so good if you've been out late and haven't eaten yet.If you get breakfast included, its a pretty good buffet. The pillows still have plastic beads in them, but they are still kind of plush.

The beads in the pillows suck, but that seems to be a japan thing. It was a little hard to find the entrance, which could have been an "us" problem. It's sometimes hard to find the hotels where the lobby is on the fourth floor. Its in an ok location, but a bit of a walk from the train station.

    8S.ChanPosted on: 11-18-2025

The hotel is not far from city attractions, just surrounding area a bit quiet at night.

Lobby at 4F, sometimes lift takes a bit of time to arrive.

    9SirisakPosted on: 11-10-2025

close to train station surround with shop and restaurant

lobby is on the 4th fl, there is no sitting facility for resting at ground floor

    8Shin Y.Posted on: 10-29-2025

Onsen, free noodle, free ice cream and ice skirt, relatively quiet and close to convenience stores.

Reception not at level 1, lift too slow

    9KitPosted on: 10-28-2025

It's within 10 to 15 mins walk from Aomori JR station. Other shopping mall and fish market are within short reach. My room has a nice view of the harbour. Last but not the least, the top-floor onsen is marvelously.

There are only two passenger lift which can be quite customers are checking-in, checking-out and trying to reach the top floor for onsen.

We liked many aspects at the Dormy Inn Aomori Hotel, like the breakfast with many Japanese food, the larger room with twin beds (compared to the double bed rooms), the very nice Onsen bath, the very kind reception and cleaning staff.

We didn't like the standard very hard bed pillows. Be aware that softer pillows can be provided by the reception. It is worth to check *all* additional amenities listed on the room TV as from your arrival.

The staff, location, facilities, hot baths, accommodation was comfortable.

I loved the facility, the complimentary noodles, the baths and sauna, and the nebuta decorations. I truly enjoyed my stay and will definitely come back here when I plan a future trip!

The pillows were a little hard and uncomfortable.

    10IDG16Posted on: 8-13-2025

Location is strategic, just 3 blocks down to the bay area. Loved walking around especially during sunset. There's nothing much to do around Aomori itself but I loved my 3 night staycation at the Dormy Inn. The spa facilities are well maintained and top notch. The reviews from other folks are true around food and freebies. Yes it's further away from the Aomori station but if you are coming from the airport, just take an airport limousine bus and get dropped off at Kencho-dori bus stop, right by the hotel! Going back is just right across the other side! Super convenient!

Fantastic breakfasts, nice rooftop bathing facilities, excellent location, great amenities (massage chairs, ramen at night, comic book room, etc), very quiet

Only 2 elevators meant long wait times

    10SadhanaPosted on: 7-28-2025

Kind staff, friendly people, amazing cafes nearby specially cafe meron! Love the onsen, free ice creams and massage chair !

    9JoshuaPosted on: 6-21-2025

The onsen is really nice. The blinds in the room are so good that you have no idea what time of day it is outside haha. Probably the deepest I slept on my vacation.

The breakfast is a bit underwhelming. Considering what they charge for it.
