Jen Shenyang by Shangri-La

I stayed in Shenyang and had a good experience at this hotel. The location was excellent — very close to the city center, with plenty of shopping malls and restaurants nearby, which made getting around very convenient.

The only downside was that the staff’s English skills were quite limited, making communication difficult at times. I hope the hotel can hire more English-speaking staff in the future.

Best location. Bessie (World's Greatest Concierge!), who 1) walked me through at check-in and helped solve incorrect deposit amount demanded of me initially, 2) had housekeeping unlock a locked window in my room to enable fresh air, 3) saw to it that a portable air freshener and heater were brought up to my room promptly upon my discovering that hotel shut off both central air conditioning and heating, and 4) always gave helpful tips and guides. Bessie actually listens to customers and pays attention to their precise needs (a fresh change from the usual "ting bu dong" response by many in China), making my stay at JEN pleasant and worthwhile^

Ageing facilities & equipments. Late at night, upon taking a shower, the hair dryer suddenly malfunctioned. Upon my request, a new hair dryer was brought to my room, but, this replacement dryer did not work. I made another request, but a working hair dryer was not brought to my room until about half an hour later by which time my hair had dried itself.

Service is excellent and location is central and convenient. Particularly I would like to thank the manager Bessie Wang for her niceness and help

The actual price was much higher than agreed by booking.com

It was easy to find the hotel. The room rates are very reasonable.

Although it seemed to be probably in the central area of the city, we couldn’t find decent eating places near the hotel while the hotel does not have dining facilities except for breakfast, where fruit juices were served in tea or coffee cups! When they found us struggling with a hotel staff using the Google translation tool, a couple of long term hotel guests interrupted us and recommended a small restaurant some 600 meters away. I wondered how Trioadvisor ranks it No.2 out of 400+ hotels in Shenyang!

Facilities are out of date, especially the bathroom, shower in the bathtub.

The size of the room was great. Breakfast was also pretty decent, with lots of options. The staff at this hotel is very friendly. Good location, a few blocks away from the metro station and the train station.

I wish this hotel had a water dispenser to fill up a water bottle, so it would be possible to avoid drinking out of plastic water bottles all of the time. In the bathroom, the shower head was oddly close to the wall, which made showering somewhat awkward. A few guests smoked in the elevator, which was not good.

A cozy hotel with retro-ish interiors. Surrounded by shopping malls and located within walking distance from the railway station. It was a holiday trip for 2 weeks. We started from Beijing and ended in Harbin. This hotel offered the most reasonable price. And the staffs are very helpful.

It is already very good.

(1) Shopping mall attached, shopping district nearby.(2) Some nice restaurants can be found in the shopping mall. Like 福禄小笼, desert for 汇巢鲜茶.(3) By the main road(4) Room is big, nice and cozy.(5) Convenient shop nearby hotel(6) Hotel concierge was very helpful.(7) Shengyang was snowing when I was there on 30-December-2023.(8) Welcome fruit in the room(9) Impression is the people of Shengyang are more helpful and friendly.(10) MRT station are near within walking distance. like 太原街站 and Shengyang station(11) Mcdonald fast food just around the corner.

(1) While I was trying to take a video of the lobby, the receptionist Rita told me to stop filming her.I wonder, she was not my purpose of filming why she waved me to stop?Therefore, sorry no pictures or video of the lobby guys.(2) I had 2 rooms, requested to be connected or near to each other, but they assigned 1 at the very east, the other one at the very west. (3) The shower is a bit too hard to manage how to switch on(4) There should be a night market walking street, unfortunately someone told me during winter the street do not have these market.

very good location, it's easy to move around.

It's bit old building and TV channels are limited to local language.

I like the staff , they give us the best recommendations for places to visit and the best restaurants to eat Location is excellent, you will not feeling bored It is near the rail station

The room ia not as described on booking. It described that there is a single sofa bed for my daughter, but just only one sofa. The same time, she ask me to put deposit in advance. I don't agree with it.

Staff are friendly and helpful. The room is clean. The location is near shoping street, restaurants and only walk a bit to the subway. I had a great time in Shenyang, at the hotel and overall everything was great during my stay. You do not need to bring the adapter coming here, I mean at the hotel they have universal plug.

I do not like that is was hot in summer, it was hot and dry. I am from Thailand so I use to hot and humid.

The hotel doesn’t meet the Shanghai-La standards we know till know.There is only chinese breakfast.The room is very simple, was furnished by low cost IKEA furniture.

Not far from train station, good place for food & shopping, big clean & quiet room.

Disappointing

We got upgraded rm on 18/F, its OK, but in they change carpets whole floor all day.Room is OK, but overheating and impossible lower down temperature. Cannot open windows, of course for safety reasons, but a/c even turned on cooling and lowest possible temp. still getting warm air. This spoiled whole stay.

English speaking staff, very clean rooms, in walkable distance to the train station and the shopping street. Metro and bus is less than 5 minutes away. Convinience store in thw lobby. Very good breakfast. My favorite hotel in Shenyang
