Close to shops, cafes and restaurants we used and easy to get to. Liked the outlook over the reserve to the bay and the activity. Room ok but a bit dated.

The view from every room is amazing! We have stayed here several times, and it has always been a great experience. The rooms are spacious, clean, very comfortable, and have a balcony or patio, that look out over the beach. We enjoyed watching the boats and ships, and the people swimming, walking, or exercising their dogs. There is a great bistro nearby that we usually go to, so meals are taken care off there. We love this motel, and will always try to stay here when we are in Napier. It is great value for money, and is a lovely place to stay.

The location was spot on. You can hear the waves from the room, and if you get a room on the ground floor, the sea is just 100 or so meters away. So, ideal for an early morning or late evening swim in summer. The unit was spacious, specially the 2-bedroom option we chose. It also had all the amenities along with utensils to prepare a home-cooked meal. The motel is also just a 5-minute drive to Napier City Centre, with its art-deco architecture, boutique shops and quaint bars and restaurants.
The unit was a bit dated, specially the furniture and decor. Noise isolation was not too good. Also, parking can be a bit tricky, specially if you do not find a space in front of your unit. Also, we found a few bugs, but that's probably because the motel is close to bushes.
Unfortunately there was a family staying below who were loud and argumentative with each other throughout the 2nd night. Banging of doors and loud voices. This took the shine off an otherwise great place to stay.
I have stayed here a few times now; good value; lovely location with view out to ocean. I appreciate the top floor room where i can have the sliding door open & sea breeze coming in. Clean & comfortable.Walking distance to cafes, bars, restaurants in Ahiruri.

Very roomy, well appointed and in a great location i.e. handy to cafes, bars, a few shops. Lovely outlook to the sea. Very clean and comfortable beds. Appreciated the fans because it was hot!! Good value for money.

Beach front and peaceful. Sat outside the room on the recliner and relaxed. The room was large and great for our overnight stay. Location to restaurants nearby was a bonus.
Great location right on the seafront with fabulous views. Excellent restaurants and cafes nearby and right next to the beachfront boardwalk for ambles along the coast. We will be back to stay next time we are in Napier.

The Harbour View Motel was an excellent place to stay in Napier, and we would not hesitate in recommending this Motel to any of our fellow travelers. The rooms were spacious, clean and very comfortable with great views of the harbour. Our one regret is that we should have stayed longer and enjoyed the facilities and tranquility of this wonderful accommodation for longer than we did.
There was nothing that I didn't like about this accommodation.
Absolutely nothing ... we were bumped out to another motel the other side of Napier - not wherewe wanted to be located!! We were notified after check in time & having already traveled to the area!! Not a happy Jan!!

Room was fabulous. Views amazing.Quite too.Spa bath, wasn't advertised but a lovely surprise. Walked next door to The Boardwalk for dinner, yum as!
Upstairs but that's where the family rooms are. Also, queen bed in dining area and singles in bedroom, in my option is the wrong way round, but that's minor.
Open door to harbour views comfortable room for 2, some things are a bit dated ie spa bath which is out of action but can still have a lovely shower
