Palm Court Motel

One of the best places to stay I have been so far in NZ.

Nice and tidy

Great location, very welcoming and comfortable room.

Useless hotel

Check in was a breeze. Owner gave us great recommendations for some local fare. (He also lent us travel chargers). Very Clean and very conveniently located. Eat at the FAT KIWI for breakfast/lunch. Right around the block and it is OUTSTANDING.

Standard motel to stay for a couple of days.

Motel is located close to the main through street of the town. Interior is a little outdated but okay. Kitchen equipment is very limited.

Spacious, clean room.

A/C wasn't working at full capacity, so it was quite warm during the day.

Ok to stay in for one night as passing through, clean, but basic. Supermarket opposite very handy, close to resturants.

Super close to town and super market.

Room 2 is nice. But the toilet isn't bolted down to the floor.

What a beautiful motel!!!Lovely coloured interior, comfy beds and pillows, kitchenette, spa bath, outdoor area, it was clean and quiet. We had the 2 bedroom apartment with spa bath. Lots of room with 3 children. Lots of kitchenware to use, and towels.Thankyou so much!!

I liked the cleanness, the location , the room layout

Unfortunately the old Air conditioning unit wasn’t the best and so it was extremely hot in the room = uncomfortable

The hotel was close to the venue we were attending.

The price was steep considering the hotel was old and outdated. I paid $180 for 1 night, you could at least provide more than 1 ply toilet paper.

The parking was good. It was right across the street from the grocery store so shopping was easy.The owner, Jeff, was very accommodating and full of good local information.It is a motel in a country town. Nice.

Don’t like? That’s a pretty big statement as there’s not really anything I didn’t like. A couple of annoyances are the fact that it’s on the highway so there is truck noise, it’s near a railroad so it’s has train noise, and I think just given the region the Earth tends to shake a bit. Blame the train or the Trucks. They do have a credit card fee for using MasterCard or Visa which will be phased out in NZ in January this year but they were still charging it, which when pointed out that with Booking.com it was quoted to be the total fee they reversed that charge. Good on ya Jeff.

Nice and clean, good size for a family. Loved the air conditioning and fan in room.

The staff was very friendly, and the rooms were as advertised. A ~10 min drive to the Waitomo caves.

The rooms were a bit dated, but that didn't impact our single night stay. Would be better if AC was in both the outer and the bed rooms.

Good location. Very clean. Tidy, comfortable and spacious. Good value for money.

It was noisy from passing traffic. Lights also shining Occassion into room from trucks passing by. Suggest darker curtains.

Ideally situated for exploring the caves and other activities. Supermarket over the road. Exceptionally clean. Things may appear a bit dated but all were very clean and worked perfectly well. Really good shower. Comfortable bedSmall patio area and two ring hob in our room. Plus fridge, m wave, kettle and toaster, so all you need to prep breakfast or a simple meal.

Nothing we disliked but felt that as the sofa was small, another comfy chair would be ideal.

Excellent location to shops, comfortable room, lots of space.

Someone in a red Ute parked next to building with his wheel turned out making the driveway access out very narrow. Other vehicles in the carpark had to avoid the bad parking by slowly inching around Ute. Very inconsiderate of others in carpark.

Lovely stay. Had good space and facilities and was nice to eat in the sun

The motel is very close (5 mins walk) to the railway station, restaurants/coffee shops and some tourist attractions, so it’s good for travellers who do not have a car. Another bonus was the host who allowed me to check-in early, drove me to my activity which was quite a way out of town and was a good source of local tourist information. The facilities are a bit dated but are clean and serviceable - they, and any dishes you might use, are cleaned daily.

Like most motels in the area, this one is close to the main road which is quite busy. However, I always travel with ear plugs so the noise didn't bother me.
