MALFROY Motor Lodge Rotorua

The hotel is very rundown. The description is misleading it is a 2 star hotel and there are 2 dirt filled holes for pools. I tried to cancel my reservation, but was not allowed to do so without paying the full price of the rooms. do not book this hotel!

I did not like

Condition of room and property. Stains on bed cover, spider webs , no milk, no smoke detectors, mould on shower door base, internal sliding doors would jam as you tried to open or shut them, missing tiles on steps pictures on website are not a true reflection of what the rooms look like. One of the pictures on the website shows what looks like the lake but it is not as the lake is no where near the motel. No one at reception for the whole tome I was there. One window would not shut. Tv was the size of a pc screen and had sticky tape across the top. No toilet roll holder, faeces in the toilet brush bowl. I would not recommend as the price point does not match the condition of the property.

Absolutely nothing

The condition of the accommodation was completely unacceptable, to the extent that we did not stay at the property on either of the booked nights. The property appeared not to have been cleaned for an extended period and was in a severely rundown condition. There was visible mould, dirty carpets, spider webs throughout the property (including in the kitchen), and a spider found on the bed, rendering the accommodation unhygienic and uninhabitable.Additionally, the curtains were broken, and the overall condition of the property made us feel unsafe and insecure. Due to these circumstances, it was not possible for us to use the property at all during the booking period.Considering the nightly rate of $200, this level of cleanliness, maintenance, and safety is entirely unacceptable and does not align with the description or standards presented on Booking.com.As the property was not stayed in at all due to uninhabitable conditions and was not as described, I am requesting a full refund. This complaint is factual, unemotional, and refund-focused, and I have also raised the matter with Booking.com support for review.I look forward to your prompt response.

The place is run down. Not well looked after. But a good cheap last minute place to stay. No aircon, lots of flying insects flying into therooms resulted in a hot room due to closed windows

This is the room I booked but the room they give me was not this room the photo doesn’t not match what they offer me there was mould we already uploaded photos.

Very Disappointing. Certainly not 4 star. Very old and run down with rotten timber. Doors to bathroom and bedrooms couldn’t shut. Window didn’t lock. Was wired up. Would not recommend.

Disgusting terrible horrible place. Never ever stay here under any circumstances. It needs to be demolished. HazardousAnd unsafe, filthy. Unhelpful staff. Feral.

Had to find alternate accommodation.

We were not able to stay at this motel as the host would not give us our key. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Host demanded a $400 deposit after we raised our concerns about the cleanliness of the place. Tv selotaped together leaning against wall.Host stormed off and would not speak to us when trying to resolve the issue.

It was paru, kitchen window didn't even close, the place was very rundown with doors that couldn't even close properly (especially for the bathroom). Beds were not comfortable and we couldn't sleep due to the horrible rotorua smell that lingered throughout the place all night long.

Office not open when I arrived, no english speaking person to talk to. Room key wasn't available like they said. NEVER saw owners the whole stay. bathroom pretty run down

This was a horrible and extremely disappointing experience. It was our first time in New Zealand, and this property was completely different from the pictures advertised. There was mold everywhere, especially in the toilet and kitchen. We even found spiders in the toilet. The room had not been vacuumed, the bed was stained and smelled bad, and the entire house had a strong cigarette smell. Cigarette butts were also scattered outside the door.The hand wash in the toilet was already opened, had no cap, and looked expired. The doors were broken and poorly fitted my brother actually got stuck in the toilet because the door would not open or close properly. The rug and carpet were stained, and even the pillows smelled unpleasant.On top of all this, the staff were extremely rude and very unprofessional. Instead of helping, they made the situation worse. Our entire trip was ruined because of this property.Overall, this place is unhygienic, badly maintained, and absolutely not recommended.

Not even 1 thing i like about this property. Too disgusted to stay there. So we ended up driving home instead of staying in there, super dirty property. Carpet is too dirty, full of stains and dust like they didnt clean it for 10years same as the wall it is too much damaged and spider webs Shower room is so dirty aswell like they didnt really clean it at all. The kitchen blinds are so dirty too, bed doesn't smell like they just got washed, It smell like it came straight from the wardrove after 1 year of storing there. Smell like you never wanted to sleep there. Bedroom wall is damaged not really safe to sleep there. Garbage accommodation i have seen. Look like a drug people place. Even the outside is not tidy. There advertisement are false. They should sut down there property and do full renovations. What a waste of time and money.
