Cedarwood Lakeside Motel & Conference Venue

The lakefront location is undeniably fantastic and it’s just a 10 minute drive to the city and the TV works.

It’s run down and poorly maintained.We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit which was spacious enough and it had been cleaned but the outside decking was loose and even broken in some areas. One of the outdoor chairs was broken and just thrown in to the bushes. The shower drain was blocked. The towels were old and smelt bad.The closet door in the bedrooms were off their railings and just left leaning inside the closet.The pool area is tired and run down. The pool needs a good clean. Cobwebs everywhere. Loose decking. Loose paving.Blackberry bush started to creep through the area.Overgrown with weeds.

Fantastic view with being right on the lake.

The place was covered in spider webs. Outside BBQ and tables were not usable. No upkeep has been done.

Air con, clean room

Unit was clean however required maintenance. Blown lightbulb, no smoke alarm, no extractor fans above stove, stove elements were unbalanced. Beds were adequate.

Our motel unit was fairly clean and the beds comfortable.

We were extremely disappointed with the facilities and general state of disrepair of the grounds. The spa pool was green and unusable and the pool was not a lot better. The kids playground was run down and there were cobwebs and weeds everywhere. The photos online were not a true representation of the place.

The cabins were really clean and tidy. Couldn’t fault it. They were fully self contained with everything you needed. Air con was nice and cold.

It’s run down. The playground probably needs to be rebuilt and the pool area needs a facelift.

Loved this place Has a decent kitchen and comfortable couches We loved the space in doors and out Peaceful and quiet.

Outside needed a gardener and lawn done But didn’t really bother us as we didn’t have children using the playground area.

The room was comfortable.

The Motel is looking very tired. The cleaning is very poor large cobwebs everywhere. Every morning we were greeted by Ants stayed for 5 nights and the Indoor and Outdoor Spa never worked when we were there. The heated pool was cold.. It takes a good 10 minutes to get into Town.

It was a good location for exploring around Rotarua even though it was not in the centre of town. It is a lovely lakeside position. The room was clean despite needing some updating.

The place is in need of some updating

We loved our stay, we have a big family so 2 rooms were perfect, we have young children so they were able to bike, swim, play all with no worry of busy vehicles.

The place was just what we were after and we will absolutely stay again, for other Travellers, the grounds keeping was behind but it was not an issue for us and our family.

Location on lakefront is nice

Property needs gardening and mowing. Very untidy. Laundry was old, marked and unclean

Bed not comfortable and shower floor needs replaced, no complimentary milk for coffee in the morning

The stay is comfortable,beds were comfortable but there was a massive burn mark on the cover which was annoying whenever I sat pr layed down I could feel it so we had to take it off the bed, the veiw was great and my kids loved the pool despite of the weather.

The receptionist at the time wasn't welcoming at all,also didn't mention there was no wifi in our room so that was a bit hard to navigate keeping kids occupied, I had to send my son to ask for a milk as there was none in the fridge. Also a bit messy in the front side rubbish and old discarded furniture was an eyesore for the amount of money we paid to stay there.

Not as viewed in advertisement photos Property - poorly maintained , playground equipment not safe for kids, hot pool was dirty and water cold, grounds needed mowing and tidying, big rubbish bin overflowing at front of site, old furniture left next to bin, trout flies are horrendous (don’t open windows or doors at night, or leave your car open). Unit - no jug in unit and not replaced when requested; port-a-cot was broken so unable to use and smelly; old plaster, chips were hidden by couch (obviously furniture not moved when cleaning done); had to boil water in a pot and discovered two of the four elements weren’t working on the stove; wall light shade missing and lights not working; remote in Chinese and Netflix app was almost impossible to navigateStaff - rude and abrupt, dismissive. Office was still locked at 9.30am during opening hours, no sign of staff.

The location is superb. Nice spot by the beach.

The trout flies at night....horrible!You cant do nothing outside in dark as those trouts are in millions annoying you.

Pitty about all the trout flies buzzing around which made it impossible to be outside during the evening. But that’s nature for you!

Space of room was good, and room was clean

The photos advertised do not reflect the current condition of this facility.The pool was dirty. The spa was cold and completely unusable, despite being advertised as an available facility. The grounds were poorly maintained, and the playground was in poor condition.We also requested a cot for our 2-year-old, which is offered as an option when booking. The cot provided did not include a mattress, and when this was raised, we were given a blanket to use instead. This is not appropriate or safe for a young child.Overall, the accommodation did not meet the standard or expectations set by the listing, and several advertised amenities were either unavailable or not maintained.

Lakeview was nice.

It was all very rundown. Grounds need a good tidy up. Spa pool was colder than the swimming pool.

We like the location, right on the lake

Staff on reception was a bit rude when we asked for a tea towel as we didn't have one in room and also asked for pool towels and he kind of just brushed us off. Cleaning staff were nice and helpful.

The lake is awesome

The heaps of insects. The pool needs a lot of renovation.
