Uni Motel

This hotel was exceptional value for money. The rooms were very spacious spotlessly clean and had everything I needed for my stay. The bed was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful and the parking space was accessible and easy.

Room was very spacious and had undergone complete refurbishment, had all my requirements and was quietr and comfortable

It is convenient as I am on a block course at Waikato. It is close to shops too.

I do not like the remote sign in and failure to disclose the key box option until I pushed the point. I was carless and it made it very difficult to get the key. In July I stayed there, there was a person on site and it was 30 dollars cheaper, not a special deal. There was no milk.

Close to the University. Clean and spacious.

Everything but more importantly it was close to everything. Very spacious especially the living room. My kid really liked the toys as it kept her occupied. The TV as we were able to watch the superbowl. The check in and check out process. Thank you

The vacuum cleaner as it was short.

Wall is paper thin. I wouldn’t call it a motel, more like a lodge with many rooms sharing same entrance

Room size was good. Clean and tidy. Wifi good. Crisp well laundered linen. Quiet.

Door closers on room and entry door are very stiff - hard to open with luggage.

Pleanty of space, great location for University. Good value for money. Perfect for a short stay in the area, where travelling for business or pleasure

They have removed the reception area so have to travel to another motel to check in.

The fact that the tap on the bathroom sink was so loose it moved 180°!!!!The pedal bin in the kitchen area didn't work properly.There was only one huge kitchen knife which was totally inappropriate, nothing smaller.Having to drive to a different motel to book in which wasn't advised until after booking.

It was clean and had what we needed.

Above tenants were noisy especially at night after midnight( stomping around, moving furniture and arguing)

No inconvenience for me, but check-in being across town should be made super clear before booking in case transport is an issue.

An email or text message to tell me that the card for the Uni motel was not on site but held elsewhere. It would have saved me a lot of time and effort locating the motel actually holding the card for Uni Motel

For the price range the room was fine. It was standard for a motel room in terms of bed quality. Kitchenette was ok with the appropriate amount of silverware and dinnerware. The room was quiet- no street noise. The location was great if your goal is to visit the university.

Key pickup at a different motel 20 minutes away (40 if you come during rush hour). Bizarre maintenance issues in the bathroom - tap not mounted properly to the sink (you can turn it around), vanity drawer mounted in an absolutely crooked way that makes it impossible to close and looks like a third world country bathroom, old mold in the shower. A broken piece of a blind controlling system left on the toilet water tank. It is all a product of remote management of the motel - nobody on site, no quality control of what contractors are doing. I spoke to the staff about it on the last day - let’s hope they will fix it, because the motel is in a relatively new building and has a good location. All it needs is proper management and maintenance.

Room layouts a bit awkward

The room was very spacious and comfortable.

It didn't have a cooktop as we wanted to do a bit of cooking. Also, the bathroom could have done with some clothing hooks and towel rails.

Nice tidy and clean rooms. Good to have air con!

You could hear people talking in the next room so the walls are pretty thin.

Staff incredibly rude stubborn and unhelpful. It turns out in the small print it says one is supposed to go to a different locastion to get the room key, NO ONE is at the property. After a long bus ride and uber to the motel, I had to then uber to get key, then uber back to the Uni motel. All costing more than the intercity bus ride to get there from Auckland. Turns out this happened to ALL the other people staying at the Uni Motel the same time as me, so owners KNOW this happens and yet do nothing to fix it. Staff acted as if i was the first person to ever foolishly make this mistake. GASLIGHT!! Especially as i am a 60 year old woman alone in a strange city.
