The location and the facilities were good, after hours access suited me well.

Maybe more private rooms, I don't normally sleep on a top bunk, but it was not an issue.

Location - central to the main hub You can rent surfboards from here and walk to the beach

No AC. It was unbearably hot so actually cancelled out stay early evening. The communal space it crammed with stuff. Shower and toilets dirty and falling apart.

Receptionist was very nice. Shower works.

Rafters <30cm above the top bunks. Blankets torn. Mattresses and pillows stained. This is the lowest tier of lodging you'll find in any city around the world

They rent bikes and surfboards cheap to guests but also have couple rundown bikes available for free (best suited to just go along beach side paths rather than roads). Nice little chill out space for one or two people, good to read a book or whatever. They had a limited number of lockers available near reception and locks available too if you forgot yours or your one didn't fit. Reasonably social place due to large central table everyone sits at for meals, drinks, journalling, drawing etc.

As a side sleeper mattress was uncomfortable as after a few hours it was concave so had to trie to sleep on edge or put duvet underneath. The disabled bathroom was best place to shower, other showers needed doors replaced or sanded down so don't get stuck in shower due to steam swelling/warping them.

No place to put things. Plugs for phone not close to the bed. Too hot, not air… Shower dirty and no shelves or hangers Good if you stay for one night

Super helpful staff and an excellent location. Huge shout out to Rob for helping us get settled in and making sure we got to our venue on time! Legend!

A bigger fan for room 5 would be awesome, I understand the windows need the safety locks. It was a humid weekend, 4 people and no breeze was a bit sweaty in there

Location great, near barsbeach eateries cbd etc staff friendly but not many of them. Clean mostly

Old tired facilities. 16 bed Dorm packed, dark dindgey, very little light or ventilation. Everyone's belingings scattered over floor. No real places or facilities ie shelves, hooks to put things. No plugs or bed lights. Couldn't tell if dorm was clean as too dark dindgey. Tripping hazrds due to clutter on floor a health & safety risk in a fire. Saw sprinkler & alarms installed hopefully working. Kitchen & Bathrms tho clean old tired needed painting. No shelves in shower or bench around bathrm sinks or many hooks. Needs painting, better facilities, more light, ventilation. Cost $55 on long weekend bit steep but average I guess. Just needs more aatention to detail. But I understand overheads & running of such places, just a bit of brightness & upgrading. Ok if one can roll past this stuff.

Looks messy all over the place. Prices are way too high, like everywhere else.in Nz.

People there young travelers friendly, Dorm room quite good size bunk bed was good...storeage near bed okay.. find a spot to put your gear and some people had there stuff bedside.....staff keep it tidy.

If unsure ask, as i didn't know where to put some food as fridge nearly full... i realised later they had several fridges.. it didn't matter i kept non perishables in my room in a bag.Facilities okay..pretty good, good size hostel, lounge to chill out to watch tv smallish area,,,,,

It's dirty, not comfortable, super loud. Can't recommended it to anyone.

Lovely and friendly staff, super chilled and lay back vibe. Perfect for solo travellers or couples/ groups. Large kitchen and outdoor area. Amazing location, can walk into town, the beach or the mount very easily!

seemed like there was a good group of long-termer's staying here, good communal space, nice tv room. On the main street so plenty of places to eat around.

it's cheap for the location but I have stayed at hostels with better facilities for a lower price. Dorm room is a bit cramped.

Great location, everything you need reachable walking. Staff super friendly and with excellent local tips!

Price is far too high for what it offers (but location)! It's also pretty noisy (outside) over the weekends as there're some big parties in that area (finishes around 1-2am). If you're looking for a relaxing place, this may not be the one

I liked the location and the whole space was ok, but not great. I was there only for 1 night which was good. But more than that no

The bathrooms and the kitchen weren't in a good cleaning condition. I'm pretty chill, but I didn't want to touch most of the surfaces.Someone put a curtain in the room where I was staying that only got to the middle of the way. Like no more fabric. I had to put a sheet all over the bed frame so I wouldn't have the street lights on my face. The place looks like it's being managed by someone who does not care at all for the presentation or the comfort of the guests

Great location. overall good stay for a decent price

Could have done with 2 pillows, bathrooms are downstairs. On the weekend the bar across the street is playing loud music until 1:30am.

Convenient, good price, good for one night. Nice staff, efficient check in and easy check out.

Hit my head on a ceiling beam because top bunk was too close to the beam, uncomforatble beds, right opposite the bar so very loud music til the early hours kept me awake. Wouldn't have been so bad on another day but we were there on a Saturday night. Kitchen decent enough and same with bathrooms but communal area was very untidy, cramped and not very clean.
