    Cons -

    • Cleanliness. The bed sheets were not clean and had odors, the bathroom smelled like someone peed on the floor.
    • The cabins are made of aluminum, and they creak a lot
    • Bunkbeds could be a bit taller, the bottom one doesnt have much space. And someplace to put your stuff when going to shower..

One of the night staff people at night told me I have to leave because I am a visitor and I was a guest, please ask before talk to people like that.

    7ElainePosted on: 2-25-2025

    Ok for short stay.

No access to plugs on top bunk. Rooms not locked.

Location is great. Not far from the town centre of the Mount. You can also park for free around the corner from the lodge.

The shower area was really wet and stuffy so hard to dry yourself and get dressed. My single bed had springs poking me in my breast and side of my knee, so awkward getting comfortable. Clients ignored the peaceful hours after 10 or 1030 and made a racket till midnight

The room was clean bed comfy

That there was only one toilet to use for whole placeI heard all night doors slamming shutNoisey

Great location. Easy access. It was awesome to meet tourists (I’m a New Zealander). I was there for work and needed somewhere cheap. Rooms are great and I loved the games shelf and table tennis

Would be better if access to tv upstairs was easier to use.

Location was good. Free parking nearby, very sociable hostel - lots going on. Staff were super friendly too.

Hostel Room smelt awful. Not enough power outlets in the room for the number of people. One small fan which didn’t help cool the heat of the room. When I stripped the bedding after my stay, there was blood on the pillow which I didn’t like.

Lovely and comfortable with lots of space

Not enough bathrooms and location could be better

Best hostel vibe I've experienced so far. Really friendly, people chat and hang out together, I did a surfing lesson (discounted significantly when booked through hostel reception) with others from the hostel and had a jam session with some others another day (guitar available at the hostel). Laundry facilities, lots of common spaces, large kitchen. Off street parking (around 9 spots total) and on street free parking just around the corner. Walking distance to the beach.

Everything in the shared areas is a little grubby and worn (kitchen and bathrooms kept clean though). The bottom bunk beds are so low, you can't sit up in bed or comfortably prop yourself up lying down. Also the only hostel where I had some of my food stolen from the fridge, although obviously not the hostel's fault.

Absolute perfect location for backpackers.Great kitchen and amazing staff!

    9MelaniePosted on: 2-2-2025

Very friendly and warm welcome. Lovely people all around. Will come again (despite the bunk beds) and will recommend the hostel for short stays.

The bunk beds are horrible. While the mattress is super comfortable, the metal frame shakes with each movement. It was scary to get up and down because of how fragile the frame was perceived.

It was comfortable and clean, it also felt safe. The location is very convenient as well and the staff were so so lovely and super helpful!

    10AnaPosted on: 1-21-2025

Everything is very tidy and the people who work there are very friendly.

That the rooms are men's and women's rooms should be women only or men only.

    Friendly staffClean

Unpleasant person in the lounge -not fault of property.Freezer space is not sufficient - it is actually tiny!

    8AndyPosted on: 1-14-2025

Nice chilled out place, good kitchen friendly staff

Bit of a trek to main beach/shops, cramped room

    10LouisPosted on: 1-11-2025

Friendliest and most welcoming reception staff I’ve had anywhere, felt like an instant friend. The manager Ale helped me out a lot and I felt looked after!

The showers could drain a bit better, but generally the place is well kept.

    8JasperPosted on: 1-7-2025

    Very good

The double room was a bit noisy in the night since the street is nearby. Also, quite warm, an airconditioning would be perfect add on

    7EmmaPosted on: 1-4-2025

Tidy, friendly spot a little walk from the beach and town.

I thought it was a little over priced.
