Mount View Motel Hawera

Room was filthy and was provided no alternatives. No staff on site had to phone. Owner in the process of selling so did not seem to care about hotel. Had to change hotels and we had to find another room ourselves. Garage attitude from owner.

Location. Hygiene,Very warm, beds were ok great that they had sky.

Fridge a paired to be warm on arrival checked to may sure it was on then checked to see if it was turned up but the knob was gone so couldn’t adjust. Shower leaked all over the floor. Bin in kitchen was broken. Lamp in bedroom didn’t work.

Rude lady reception The room was musty It was shabby no care. dead plants in pots etc.

The unit was excellent and very central and had a double bed in a separate bedroom with a single bed in the main room, which suited us fine.

There was nothing to dislike.

The room was comfortable and I appreciated having a unit right at the back of the motel, as it eliminated road noise. The lady running the motel was friendly and professional, which enhanced my stay.

Loved the shower pressure. Lots of bed space for two teens and a toddler. Perfect for an overnight stay. Very quiet.

Bathroom was tight but clean, small hole in the back of the bedroom door but room was nice and tidy. Playground was old, falling apart not kid friendly.

We originally did our booking online and later got a lovely call from the owner saying she moved me and my family into the house as she felt we would be more comfortable with the room provided in the house. The house was very spacious and the rooms/living room/dining/kitchen were all big enough for my family to move around as freely as we pleased. The house was very family friendly which made our stayed even more lovely.

Everything was exceptional!!

Great location and very affordable for a large group, had everything you needed. We were the only family there, the trampoline and swings was a hit for the children while we were busy setting up the rooms and also cooking our breakfast the next morning

Curtains didn't meet....privacy issue..curtain rail falling down ....fridge sitting on the carpet making it hard to open and was very noisy...shower height could be put on sliding rail for shorter people.....parking not marked and other users parked in front of our unit ...next time I fuelled up I found my fuel cap had been tampered with...

The location and the owner was lovely very deserving f a break it seems

We had no hot water the last night so couldn’t shower. We had to leave early in the am so I didn’t want to ring the owner.

There was a little park for the children to play at, easy to drive in and out, rooms were very spacious and owner was amazing and welcoming.

Our overall stay was very pleasant with our pet and accommodation was clean, tidy and comfortable. There was good communication and they were just a pleasure to deal with.

Some of the facilities were a little outdated and the single bed was not comfortable at all. The spa was broken as well

There was no kitchen sink which is most unhygenic. You had to use the bathroom basin to wash your dishes and fill the jug

Never going back

I had booked a room as advertised on the web page and was put into a cheaper room. When we got up in the morning, there was no hot water. When I called the emergency phone number, there was no reply. I tried a few times and texted. We left as we had to be on the road. My call was returned when the office opened, and when I told her about my issues, she was not interested. I was even told not to book through booking.com, etc, and I should have gone straight to the motel. If she didn't have a room that we requested, she should have 1. Removed it from the site. 2. She should have contacted me or even offered to refund the difference. We will definitely never return there and will advise others the same.

.Location was great and easy to find. Kitchen was well equiped.

The motel was very outdated, the whole place smelt like gas from the heater, there were no smoke alarms or gas detectors that we could see, the oven didn't work, and the condensation was beyond a joke, under the beds and behind furniture was full of dust and the sofa was dirty and so uncomfortable

Service was friendly, the room was comfortable, warm and dry. Very clean.

Wifi wasn’t the best, and I had a few emails to reply too.

The receptionist was lovely, the room was warm and nice. Really good for the money

The rooms were very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen facilities were fantastic.
