Location
Location excellent
Ticking clock in room.
Atmosphere. Friendly staff. Restaurant.
Got water for the shower didn't work well.
Comfortable room with period features and great bathroom. Wonderful bed and bathroom lovely. Restaurant dinner was really wonderful and the atmosphere in the room was great. Staff were very accommodating.
Quite a lot of stairs to get up to the room.
We stayed in the Melba room and it was amazing. An old style hotel but exactly what we were looking for. Beautiful four posted bed that was super comfortable with qualify linen. The room and bathroom were super clean.
It's an old style hotel so no lift and the rooms are upstairs so we had to our luggage up the stairs. I thought breakfast was very ordinary given the style of the room. I wouldn't recommend breakfast maybe go out.
Was a nice large room with comfy bed.The night manager was great and as we phoned in advance was ready for us for a late check-in. AS the restaurant was shut, he went and got cutlery / plates for us to eat food we'd brought with us in our room.
Breakfast could have started earlier, we had to leave before it was ready.Perfectly happy paying the "last minute special" booking.com price but certainly wouldn't have been happy paying the quoted normal price, which was (in my opinon) far too high for the room. I did wonder if it was a bit of false advertising around pricing.
Large spacious 2 bedroom apartment.. easy to access and
No big deal but “accessible ramp” was overgrown with a vine.. didn’t effect us but someone who did need to use it would have trouble
Lovely spacious room with two big windows that opened allowing fresh air.Loved the old charm of this property.Dinner was delicious and at a reasonable price. Breakfast was also great.
Ironing board needed replacing. Difficult to iron outfit for wedding we were attending.
Staff were friendly and helpfull and rooms were clean and neat
TV in room not working
Nice older building
Bathroom was very old and awkward getting into the bath to have a shower.
We liked the historic feel of the building, with its intrinsic charm. We enjoyed the meal and dining atmosphere. We enjoyed the views from the upstairs room windows (Room 10).We liked the bookshelves and books in a couple of locations.Staff offered us a voucher to compensate for the hot water issue.
Lack of hot water in late evening and following morning.
It was conveniently located.
The room stunk of old carpet and was musty and dusty. Was very small and moving around the bed was tricky. Electric Cables handing here and there. Water pressure was challenging to control and shower door wouldn’t stay secure and we had to use a towel to secure it. Bathroom fan was very noisy when in use.
The location in Yarra Glen is very central to the wineries.
Noisy (can hear neighbours all night) unable to block out ALL light at night, dead lock on door did not work. Breakfast offering was poor. No cooked options.
The food, the staff, the upgrade to the "Tower" suite. The whole ambience showcasing the yesteryears.
Having to leave!
Great Venue with lovely staff in a very nice part of the world. I would stay there again for the friendly service and locals, with good coffee and bakery options nearby.
Comfortable room and pleasant, helpful staff.Good dinner in the restaurant.
A ten minute drive to the winery where our function was being held.
The mattress was very soft & uncomfortable. There were a few light bulbs blown in the bathroom & bedroom & the bathroom fan was very noisy.
