    Pros +

    • Kookaburra Lodge exceeded my expectations. Parking—each room gets a dedicated parking spot, and although we had two cars, we were able to park both as there was extra space available. Even if the parking is full, street parking is right outside the lodge and feels safe. The kitchen, living area, and BBQ space are very spacious, with the BBQ area being a real highlight. While there wasn’t a gas stove during our stay, the BBQ was more than enough. The kitchen is well-equipped with an air fryer, rice cooker, and microwave, so you can cook almost anything. The rooms are good for the price. Although I usually don’t prefer shared bathrooms and toilets, I had no issues here—they were clean, quiet, and there were enough of them that they were never fully occupied. The included breakfast was much better than expected. At most places, breakfast usually means just bread, cereal, coffee, and juice, with hot items costing extra. At Kookaburra Lodge, eggs, beans, and bacon were all included at no additional cost—it felt like a proper American breakfast.I also noticed that many guests were bikers. The lodge has a bike-themed vibe, with an interesting bike collection displayed around the property, which adds to its character.
    • We liked that it is a cosy territory ,clean but simple
    • The breakfast was pretty good my only complaint would be coffee I don’t like instant otherwise everything else was fine

    Cons -

    • There wasn’t much to dislike. The lack of a gas stove during our stay could be a small inconvenience for some, but the BBQ and other kitchen facilities worked well. I also couldn’t find a room with a private bathroom—this may have already been fully booked—but the shared bathrooms were clean and well maintained.
    • We would like to have a toaster and microwave
    • Coffee some good coffee

Wonderful welcome and terrific room. Very cozy and clean. Great common loungeroom area with a lovely big fire place and lounges for chat time after dinner. Perfect location.

Brekkie was a bit of a let down and while A decent coffee machine would go a long way to upping the review for breakfast, the overall stay was terrific

single room shared bathroom with breakfast

The rooms were simple and comfortable, with bunk beds and a table and chair — perfect for resting after a long day. The lounge area was a great bonus, offering entertainment options for all age groups. Breakfast was hot, fresh, and satisfying. The staff were exceptionally kind and courteous, and the location was ideal — just a short walk to Lake Jindabyne, shops, and restaurants.

The top bunk beds didn’t have safety railings, making them unsuitable for young children. Shared washrooms can be a bit challenging — while the women's facilities were clean, my son noted that the men's toilets could have been better maintained.

Rooms very cosy and quiet didn’t hear any noise from adjoining rooms shower was very hot after a day in the snow loved the hot breakfast couldn’t fault this place will recommend it to friends and will definitely be staying again

My room and the common areas were clean and comfortable. There is parking on site and Kookaburra Lodge is just a short walk from the town centre. The owner was welcoming and helpful. I enjoyed a great breakfast before heading up to the snow.

I think that a small reading light would be a good addition to the room

The communal kitchen with cosy fireplace and great vibesThe generous cooked breakfast of bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, cereal and toast. The drying room for wet jackets and boots,Comfy bed and clean roomsThe friendly staffThe great value for money.Would definitely come back!

The only drawback was the thin walls between bedrooms, meaning even quiet talking next door was very noticeable. Ear plugs were provided, which was thoughtful.

Breakfast was great. Facilities clean and accommodation was good value.

We loved this cosy, clean and great value stay.

    Nothing it was awesome.

    9JamesPosted on: 4-26-2025

The owners are great courteous hosts who made out stay very enjoyable. There is a great communal room for relaxing by a wood fireplace, very close to shops and a fantastic breakfast room with great hot food. Great place to stay for motorcyclist, as the owner is one.

    We only stayed one night!

    7JessicaPosted on: 4-22-2025

Super clean and good value for money

Paper thin walls! If you’re a light sleeper, ear plugs and an eye mask are a must.

    9MariaPosted on: 4-21-2025

Service was great, staff was friendly and the place was very clean.

Walls were quite thin, you could hear people from other rooms quite easily

    8AndrewPosted on: 4-17-2025

Nice, clean, great location, near shops but quiet

    9StevenPosted on: 4-17-2025

Bed was very comfortable and we both slept very well.Breakfast was surprisingly good and we got more than we expected.Bathrooms were very clean and kept in rally good condition.

There were university students staying at the same time we were and they were rather noisy the first night. But credit to the owners of the establishment they warned to keep the noise down and the next evening was a much more comfortable stay for us.

Clean, comfy and nice cooked breakfast. Staff friendly and Jindabyne is a lovely place to stopover.
